The food is amazing. Fresh, plentiful and authentic. There is lots to pick from. I had a huge lunch plate of rice, beans, salad and the most tender pork I’ve had in ages. For 6.00! You won’t leave hungry. I had to have dessert. An amazing Très Leche cake. Omg. Haven’t had this as good since I lived in LA.

Love this place. Not a bad morsel anywhere. Got a bunch of friends hooked now. Everything from baked plantains with cheese to chicken and beef empanadas to corn cakes, coconut bread and pan a chocolate are all excellent. They also have a fresh food bar that they serve from. Freshly prepared South American recipes of baked chicken and various soups, veggies and rice are all delicious. They have a very loyal following and it’s often difficult to find a seat at meal times!

This place is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it but it’s worth the stop. Go up to the counter to order and stay or take it to go. Staff is friendly and helpful. Today I had soup, generous portions of yellow rice, lentils and pollo criollo for lunch and a soda for under $ 10.

Inexpensive, tasty and great in a pinch! Their hot sauce is the bomb!

I went here a few times. It is not horrible, but not a place that I would to if I was craving bakery items. They also make a variety of Spanish food, which I have also tried. I find that their food is relatively dry and lacks flavor. If you are looking for something in a rush and don’t want to travel than give it a try. Otherwise, This is not a place that I would go to regularly.

This tiny place on Main Street is three things: — Bakery — Hot Prepared foods — Sit-down style very small cafeteria The food is mostly Ecuadorian(that’s what I assume by the looks of the«Ecuador» posters hanging on the walls). They have empanadas, arepos, tamale type thingys and lots of rice. Whenever I visit I’m usually the only gringo in the building. I get take-out so I’m in and out very quickly. The people behind the counter are polite and understand English, although it seems it is not their first language. Everything is written in Spanish. You might recall that a few years ago the owners of this place and a priest from New Haven were in some controversy about Hispanic profiling from the East Haven police. Yea, hard to believe, huh? I love both East Haven officials and honest hard working people, so I try not to get involved with the politics of the town. Plus I love trying different ethnic foods. So gimme some nice empanadas and some nice hot sauce and I’m happier than a clam at high tide. Their pastry and bakery items don’t look overly impressive, so IMO just stick with the prepared foods.
