Don’t go here on a date, unless your date can eat more than you can. It really is a take out type of place. I’m giving it four starts cause the food was great. My wife and i had a half chicken and rib combo with veggies and rice on the side. The meats were moist and flavorful! The eats are cheap too and the owners were very pleasant. i’d go back if I were in the area or if I were passing by to take out.

Great food for take out. We’d get the grilled chicken platters and it came with fries or rice, and black beans. We would usually get the rice. The rice is really smooth and flavorful with different fresh assorted veggies and the chicken was really delicious. It came with barbecue and hot sauce which added to the flavor of the chicken, and the beans, ohh, so lovely with the rice. I wish they still gave us bread though. But all in all, great place to eat and if you haven’t eaten here before, come check it out!

Outstanding! Having grown up near the Ironbound and migrated to the suburbs many moons ago, I often lament the lack of good food with «flavor». You would drive right past this place if you didn’t know it was there… I can’t imagine how many times I have. But today, I had lunch. Simple, delicious, amazing. The chorizo was lean and flavorful… What can I say about the ribs that shouldn’t be written in a proverb? If you are looking for sloppy, greasy BBQ, this is not the place. The ribs stand on their own. just the right amount ofnfat and full of flavor! There are sauces on the table but none needed. I can’t wait to go back for more! Reasonable prices and a warm and hardworking family that own this place. I will be back and often.

This is a take out place — while you could sit inside for dinner, the ambiance is very simple and you get the smoke from the kitchen.
Grilled chicken platters are great! They give you huge portions. The portion for 2 people can feed 4. It’s a huge tray of chicken and fries or rice. The chicken is tender and you can add a garlic sauce to it.
The lady taking the orders is extremely nice.

The portions are good and the prices are reasonable.
We usually order the pork ribs, steak, and chicken platters. The sides are good (rice and beans)
However; I wish there was a way for the fries not to get soggy for take out.

It’s my go-​to place for chicken, beans and rice. Hot sauce is sooo good. The portions are huge. The ribs and fries are ok (on the drier side — I like saucy ribs — that’s just me). One time I ordered the chicken combo (thought it meant rice, but it came with ribs, chicken and fries) and I ate it for lunch for 4 days straight because it was so much food. The only other item I ordered was the paella — I don’t recommend it. The taste was ok and it was light on the seafood, heavy on the rice.

I must’ve ordered the ribs, rice and beans platter over 50 times since this place opened. Whenever I bring it to a potluck, people love it and eat it all up! I’ve tried their chicken which is also good but not a fan of their beef or fries.

Very small restaurant. So if you want to actually eat there, get early. The food is awesome!!! Very tasty and not too too salty. Only gripe is that food does take awhile to wait for, but it’s definitely worth it. Very nice staff.

Great food at phenomenal prices; what’s not to love about Europa? It took me a little while to venture into this strip mall inhabitant when they originally opened, but I’ve been a regular customer ever since. There’s a small amount of seating for dining in, but all of my experiences have been on the takeout side. Favorites are the chicken and baby back pork ribs, each of which come with a choice of rice, bean, and fries (can pick 2), as well as fresh rolls and their amazing hot sauce. The chicken is cooked in rotating open barbecues just behind the counter, and is always juicy with wonderful Portuguese BBQ flavor. Prices are more than fair. A great value and truly delicious food.

Got take-​out tonight, and was disappointed. Ordered the Sauteed Chicken with Garlic Sauce. What I got was grilled, dry chicken with no sauce. Had a hint of lemon but it was very stringy and burnt around the edges.
My wife got a sauce at least — she had the Europa Shrimp. She thought the shrimp were on the small side and a bit overcooked. The veggies — just green pepper and onion — weren’t much. Left her wishing for more flavor.
Good thing they give you a decent hot sauce on the side — the only thing that saved the meal.

Another great Christmas party last night. Lots of wine and way too much good food. Shrimp was perfect. Ribs, chicken, rice and black beans. The standard Bbq, but theirs is excellent. It’s a take out place, so really casual and eight of us almost filled the place, but as holiday traditions go this is one of my favorites. Fries are the best with the shrimp sauce! If you like Portuguese BBQ give it a try

Good rice, great chicken and hot sauce that I could drink straight. I’ve never had dry chicken from this place, it’s always moist and flavorful. The service could be a bit faster, but for fresh food I can totally wait. I’d also love to know where to get the little rolls that the serve with the food. I LOVE that they deliver. The prices are right and the portions are a nice size.

3.5 stars! Europa serves Portuguese BBQ. There are only 4 tables inside and most people just order takeout. The owners are very pleasant. They took our order and served us. I’ve had lunch here twice. I’ve always ordered the chicken combo, with rice and French fries. Portion size is huge. I shared the chicken combo with my bestie and it was enough for 3 – 4 people. Have I had better Portuguese chicken in the Ironbound? Yes I have. But their chicken was still well seasoned and delicious. The rice was a little overdone, but still good nonetheless.
Overall, I will be back here for lunch again!

I needed something quick to pick up after work for ladies night at my house. I never tried this place and I took a chance because its Hanover lol. I questioned the authenticity, but I did not care because drunk women will eat anything when they are hungry enough! I got garlic shrimp with rice and veggies. The portions are huge for a half size. To my surprise the food was sooo good. The shrimp was well seasoned, fresh and juicy! They were a hit at ladies night and enough to feed 4 people to go for seconds.

When you first step in this place, the open kitchen with the aroma of all sorts of BBQ meat just makes you hungry!
I have to say this place has amazing BBQ chicken dish! I first ordered BBQ half-​chicken, rice and beans but the counter lady asked me if I wanted the whole chicken since it’s on special Mondays-​Wednesdays… only 10 bucks! I think it can feed like two-​three people but of course with my appetite, I can eat the whole thing… well 75%?
Definitely must go back for other dishes!
