Bagels4u of East Hanover

I was impressed with the quality of bagel here. Soft and chewy on the inside and a little crunch on the outside. Bagel was nice and warm but not too much where the cc would gush out (a big pet peeve of mine).
They have a grill which is super important for their breakfast sandwiches.
Coffee was meh. They keep the coffee behind the counter and fill it up for you. They do carry flavored brands.
Staff was efficient but a smile wouldn’t hurt. They are busy on Saturday/​Sunday mornings. I don’t recall seeing any seating inside. I do recall it being tight and being on a line. ENJOY!

It makes me sad to think that there are people on this planet who’ve never had a good bagel. That is the only conclusion I can reach from the high ratings this place achieves.
I drove out of my way to get to this spot on my way into the office after a doctor’s appointment based on the Unilocal reviews. My «everything» bagel had very little of «everything» on the outside of it, and the bagel itself was dry. They tried to make up for it by piling two inches of cream cheese in the middle of it, even though I asked for just a little bit of cream cheese (I’ve been in Jersey for a while, so I know how it goes – seriously, is there anyone who eats all that?) I was already in my car by the time I noticed that my bag with one bagel weighed about five pounds, four and a half of which was cream cheese. I tried to scrape as much off as I could using the wrapper, and ended up with cream cheese on my black suit. OK, so that’s my fault for not being careful. I will be ever more careful (to avoid this place) in the future.
My quest for a decent bagel in this area continues…

Best bagels and great coffee with huge selection of fixings as well as the best egg sandwiches.

Great place for breakfast sandwiches. I usually stop here before work in the morning, the bagels are great. You can see where the bagels are made and everything looks really clean. The staff is very polite and fast! Love this little spot.

One of my favorite bagel places! Even more so now that they have a grill! Taylor ham & egg whites. Salt pepper & kitchen on a bagel!!! The best in the area

Bagels 4 U is an East Hanover institution. I used to come here all the time. Not sure if they have changed owners but it’s not as good as it used to be. Bagels don’t have the same texture and the chicken salad tastes off. I don’t crave it like I used to and find myself preferring manhattan bagel down the road. Also, prices have gone way up!

Coming from New York I expect a fairly decent bagel anywhere I go in the tri-​state area. Walked into this place during a children’s party at the kids place next door. After waiting like 10 minutes (slow counter staff), I ordered an everything bagel.
The bagel tasted more like a roll than a bagel with no appreciable bagel flavor at all. I would not return.

Bagels are always good as well as the scallion and veggie cream cheeses. I always get the whole wheat everything bagel but I wish they would put the everything part (seeds) of the bagel on The whole bagel not just one side. Staff is mostly friendly but my order has been wrong on a number of occasions. Will still go back and recommend this place.

Truly ranking up there with some of the best if not «THE BEST» bagels I’ve ever had. This is your typical NJ type small Bagel place that simply gets it done. No eating area aside from the small windowsill and couple of outside tables so this is pretty much a take out place. Refridgerators on the wall have various bottled drinks as well as Butter, milk, OK etc.
Bagels well every type known to man, almost always piping hot or Warm right out of the oven that simply will make you go WOW. Various spreads and cold items are in the display case to the right and aside from your typical butter, crème cheese etc a recent addition to the menu are the Breakfast sandwiches on bagels with Taylor Ham, bacon cheese etc. YUMMY.
Any downside? Girls behind the counter are slow to clueless as anything out of the ordinary will make the clock stop. Bill came to $ 9.98 on Sunday and I handed her an AMEX Card. Was told after a 30 second meeting in Spanish by all gals that Amex has a $ 10.00 credit card Minimum. A. You can’t place minimums on credit cards but I wasn’t going there with this — secondly it was a. 02 difference. OK they couldn’t make a judgement call :) I said no problem SIMPLY CHARGE ME $ 10.00… Well that turned into another 30 second conversation to figure out how to handle that one… ummm I PAID CASH as I stated CLUELESS… Won’t hold this against them on the star rating but WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE OWNERSHIP.
Still some of or THE BEST BAGELS out there.

Bagels are fresh and delicious… prices are reasonable… variety of spreads available.
They also sell frozen packages of their bagels. Defrost them in the freezer for one minute and they are perfect.

Best Bagels period.

I have to say that I didn’t actually consume a bagel, but other folks in my group did and liked them. I, did, however, try the cinnamon raisin cream cheese — which was really unique and raisin packed!
Good spot!
