Disappointing. Some food was really good like crispy beef and Peking duck. Chicken satay was lousy. Service was good but room was hot and a bit smelly. The worst was the flies, it’s way too nice a place to have flies inside the restaurant. Skip this place.

The décor is nice awesome Dj. Amazing waiter service. The peeking duck is the best I ever had the best pork fried rice

Went to this place with some friends first time this weekend. I had the Peking duck, which was as good as someone else here said. I did not find the service lacking or unnecessarily attentive and the price was decent for what you’d expect of this kind of restaurant. We’d probably go again.

After a terrible day from work I went to philippe at East Hamptons for a dinner date, not knowing what to expect. As we were waiting at the bar to be sitted. I’m thinking great can’t get any worse. However it was surprisingly an amazing night we ended up having. Mike the bartender creatively made drinks to cater my taste. After we sat the server recammanded green prawns and peking duck. The food was delicious, the server was attentive and very friendly. The drinks and food came on time. Overall the experience was phenomenal. Definitely my new hotspot. I also recommended to my friends all the time due to my experience there.

Dead scene. My little brothers 5 year old party is more happening. Avoid at all costs.

It’s just not that good. Got a bunch of apps but they all had the same bland taste. Stay away from the satay, it’s basically pounded breadcrumbs with sauce that adds no flavor. I’ve had better Chinese from dirty delivery joints in the city.

I came here with 6 ladies at midnight and the place was empty, 3 cars in the parking lot. I was told that I would have to pay $ 500 to get a table by the guy at the door. After i laughed at him, they said they would settle for $ 100. We left, because we did not want to give any money to a business that operates like that. I went back to the car to drive away, and a couple of the ladies kept talking to the guy at the door. A minute later, she came back and said, «he said it’s okay, you don’t have to pay, he was just ‘playing the game’ «. I responded that they would have to comp me a $ 500 bar tab if i was going to stay, but i left before i heard the answer. There are plenty of great bars in the area that don’t try to cheat people, but this is not one of them. I would recommend spending your hard earned dollars elsewhere.

Better off getting cheap Chinese delivery. Started with the signature chicken satay with peanut sauce and it was bland as well as the steamed eggplant which were cooked satisfactory However the sauce was fair. Main course was the Spicy shrimp overly breaded and super fried and its sauce lacked intrigue. Also had the crispy beef while labeled crispy it described it as light. I couldn’t find the beef in the middle of over cooked fried chewiness. A Bok Choy side was needed to be ordered after the mains arrived as there wasn’t a vegetable included in either main dish. It was basic steamed Bok Choy luckily not over cooked. Wine was overpriced and when the bill came we laughed. Would have enjoyed delivery from Best Taste in Amagansett much more.

So we went here last year when it was Sienna, and it was super awkward. Had no idea it was the same place til we rolled up this weekend. Needless to say, one has to wonder if the management and the marketing is the same group bc it was an almost identical ambiance with just different cuisine. The service was ok, definitely, as someone else had mentioned, over the top. You couldn’t go 3 minutes without someone wanting to change out or take a plate. The food was ok. Ordered the pork dumplings(meh), chicken shui mei, string beans, and chicken satay for apps, then had the beijing chicken, house mignon, and kung pao chicken for entrees, but aside from the House Mignon(which was pretty amazing), it wasn’t much different than other Chinese places, but 5x the price. Dinner for 3 came to $ 350, which included a few drinks, a few entrees, and a few apps. Doubt that we will return. Wasn’t worth the drive from Southampton.

Went on June 6, 2015 with some friends. The highlights: We went early and there weren’t many people there, so the waiters were attentive. The bad: A little too attentive. I don’t need you to remove the plastic from my straw. Several waiters came by A LOT. The food was excellent. I enjoyed everything. The bass was phenomenal. It came with garlic sauce and some other kind of sauce and I loved it. Duck was good. Sesame chicken, great. The good: yay! Chinese food in East Hampton. The bad: Woah, was it expensive. Drinks: expensive. One of my friends said we could have went to PF Changs for way cheaper. While my palate is a bit more discerning than his, I have to agree. Great food, and you definitely pay for it.

We went for an early dinner, 7, on Friday night. There really is no Chinese food in East Hampton so I was looking forward to the meal. The long and short of it is the food was good, the service was excellent, it definitely got louder as time went on but the place is 5 min from my house so will definitely become a habit. No good food in East Hampton is cheap and neither are drinks at the locals bars. This is the Hamptons. Accept it and get over it.

My night at Philippe was quite honestly the night from hell. Where to start? Rewind to two weeks ago, when I reached out to Philippe’s director of special events about a private dining reservation. Amy promised to call me at 2pm and never did. I sent two followup emails, and still never received a call from her. Unprofessional. Finally, she wrote back ONLY with contact information for her nightclub rep with zero apology for her lack of follow through on the dinner I had actually requested. She also added me on LinkedIn at the time that our call was scheduled for, so I know she didn’t forget the plan. We were then in contact with the promoter who was helpful — he did try to sell me a table but after finding out that the«lounge»(aka the restaurant bar) was the only option available on Fridays, we decided to save our money. He still sent me a confirmation email on the day of our dinner reservation for our bottle-service reservation. Nope, never agreed to bottles…#desperate. Arrived to the restaurant around 10pm on Friday evening. The restaurant was basically empty with a few other tables filled besides ours. Our waiter Nick was the saving grace of the evening — he was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and impressive. Otherwise, the experience was disgraceful. We started with a couple of appetizers which were good — we got the salt and pepper calamari and a couple of wonton soups which met but did not exceed expectations. We then proceeded to order our third bottle of wine and an assortment of entrees. When those entrees were delivered, a half-inch black bug was spotted on the table. As it inched toward me, I shielded myself with a pair of chopsticks until a staff member noticed and took the bug from the table. They then tried to tell me that said bug was a «butterfly». Laughable. The problem is not so much that there was a bug — I am a Miami girl who is all-too-familiar with a wide variety of bugs — but moreso in the way that this unsanitary situation was handled. The OWNER of the restaurant was actually there and did nothing to help or acknowledge the situation. He didn’t offer a single apology, and renigged on his sole offer to provide a round of drinks of our choice. Thank god for the bartender named Ashley, the only service-oriented person we dealt with, for calmly making up for what the owner clearly lacked in interpersonal skills and insisting on making the drinks that were initially offered. I wish I could tell you that while the service absolutely sucked, the food was good. But it wasn’t, so I can’t. The lobster fried rice was an actual embarrassment. White rice with egg and two slivers of lobster in a one pound silver canister does not a fried rice make. Especially for $ 23 of my hard-earned dollars. *Note to Phillipe: try to be better than a Panda Express. Plus, do not provide a burning hot spoon with the rice that is likely to burn your customer’s hands. Can’t even think of the other food we tasted because it was not memorable in the least. The cherry on top of all of this was when my friend and I stepped outside to chat and the bouncer asked us to stand outside of the black ropes. There was literally not a single customer within a 5 mile radius of the restaurant. Words of wisdom: don’t take yourself so seriously. Overall, I can’t think of one single reason to recommend this pretentious place. Key takeaway message: DONOTGOTOPHILIPPE.

Looks like the old SL East(which was at this address in the past summers) has turned into a pop-up Philippe Chow for the summer. We had a late dinner here because we wanted to head to their club next door after, and the timing worked out great. They make a mean peking duck and the steamed sea bass with garlic and black bean sauce was on point. Drinks are pricey, but it’s the Hamptons, so you’re going to be paying a premium for being around the well-heeled bunch.

The best part of dining at Phillipe Chow’s in East Hampton is that it has a good size parking lot. The food at these prices does not even meet truck driver quality. It is quasi chinese food with super-un-duper satays which at $ 24 for 3 questionable sticks are the biggest disappointment I have had in a long time. They are frankly tasteless. This place has nothing to do with good food, it’s a place for people action and all that go there must have no educated food taste at all.

It’s usually hard to find a place with a crowd this tacky in East Hampton. Probably because they’re all at this place. You’d think they’d at least have higher standards for the food given how much they’re spending. You can save yourself two hours of your life waiting for a table here. Rather than going, order some mediocre takeout chinese, turn your stereo and TV up loud, and shout at each other across your meal. Oh, and burn a $ 100 bill for each person at the table, to complete the experience. Philippe’s can’t even decide what country’s cuisine they’re serving. 90% of the menu is Chinese food, except for a selection of sates that turned out to be mystery meat on a stick coated in a sickly sweet sauce that was probably mostly corn starch and flour. The rest of the meal, at best, maybe came up to the standards of a decent neighborhood delivery joint in Manhattan. I guess they’d claim it’s fusion, but I didn’t see any dishes on the menu that weren’t just retreads of old standards.
