First it is not a brew pub! Second was not told about happy hour prices during happy hour-and charged full price during happy hour. Food was mediocre for pub food. Very greasy. Won’t be back.

Walked into The Trap and were greeted by very friendly staff. It was the day before Valentines and they had different stickers for your relationship status(our party consisted of my wife and I and another couple). Started the night off with a laugh! Good beer selection! We started with Beer Pretzels with a short rib cheese dip and Zucchini Fries with horseradish aioli sauce. Both appetizers were excellent, the braised short rib meat was tender beyond belief and added a nice flavor to the cheese fondue. My wife and I shared the Lasagna Bolognese Pizza and the Prosciutto Caprese grilled cheese. I know how do you have pasta on pizza? The Trap knows how to do it and it was great! The Caprese grilled cheese made with in house made focaccia bread which was grilled lightly on the outside and soft in the middle. Our friends ordered the Chicken Parm with a choice of 5, yes 5 different pastas to go with it and Braised Short Rib grilled cheese. They both said their entrees were great. Our service was very good at the beginning but declined a little as time went on. The many choices they have on the menu already have us making plans to go back. Great lively atmosphere, highly recommended!

We went to the Trap bar last night to see Cliff Myers. It was such a fun night. And the service was great. Will go back again when he is there.

Went to trap last night. First time, will not be my last. Arugula pizza was amazing, husband enjoyed his burger. Service was outstanding.

Went to The Trap with a friend and we ordered bloody Mary’s which we did not like, they tasted like olive juice. We told the waitress and she took them back and I ordered a wine and she ordered a vodka drink. When we got the bill the bloody Mary’s were still on the bill and we were charged for 1 wine Ans 1 vodka drink instead of 2. I told the waitress the bloody Mary’s were still on the bill and she said yes but we only charged u for 1 wine and 1 drink. I said yes but the wine is $ 5 and the drink is 6.50 and the bloody Mary’s r $ 7 each. She said we have to leave them on the bill because we poured them. Really! Never heard of such a thing. Bad policy. Nobody does that! You don’t like a drink u send it back it comes off the bill. Not like we didn’t order more drinks.

As a bar this place is good. Less depressing than its competitors and has a good buzz. A good selection of good beer and very nice servers. As a restaurant this place is the pits. We ordered a caesar salad, burger, fries, chicken tenders, and a pizza. Aside from burger, all pretty much left uneaten. Burger itself quite good though.

Awesome spot. 16 beers on draft. Nice variety on their menu between Italian dishes and pub food! The food is great. A lot of in house made dishes such as their fried mozzarella and gnocchi. My favorite sandwich there by far is the Rib grilled cheese… MELTSINYOURMOUTH! Specials every night. Half price appetizers daily. Friendly and welcoming staff. 6 giant flat screen TV’s to watch all sports on. Great surround sound. The best part, being a pet owner, is they allow u to bring your dogs when the outside seating is open!

this place was a «cool» dive before but fun and the drinks were always tall and generous. wine pours are still generous. 4 stars for drinks tried this place a few times after they remodeled. first time at the 2-top. the fried eggplant app and the elasto-band calamari app. both reheated. marginal but ok. it was mid-afternoon on a nice day. second time, again mid-afternoon, sat at the bar. right by the taps. staff too busy texting, one was a bar back and we had to ask twice to let the bar tender know we were ready to order drinks — she was eating her lunch at the end of the bar. finally got the wine and menus. bartender was tied up dishing with friend. never bothered to ask if we were ready to order. what to they do here, sling as many drinks as possible to avoid going downstairs to the restaurant kitchen to fetch food? is it too much trouble? 2:00 to 4:00 pm was always a tricky time in the rest biz but this is not a 1960 cloth napkin gin gimlet kind of place!!!

This is a biker bar with a nice outdoor deck that allows nice well-behaved dogs to dine with their owners on the deck, The food is okay. It’s not fabulous, it’s the doggie welcoming thing that keeps me coming back. I’ve had waiters who have messed up my order more than once(always apologized and made it right), the chef is inconsistent, and the service can be spotty. Aside from those negatives, it’s really not bad. Typical American fare: burgers, fries, salads(some really good ones at that), some potato skin things that are decent but don’t taste healthy. The place is not terribly expensive and they like dogs, so if this works for you, give it a try.

After awkwardly waiting next to someone’s table because there is no waiting area and the bar was full for 40 minutes; my group of four was seated — we ordered Calamari to start and it came out soggy like the breeding wasn’t crispy at all it also was tough and rubbery with only a few that seemed cooked correctly. I ordered a steak bomb and a side salad which never came out before the sandwich and I had to ask for it when all of our food came. When they finally brought it the salad was really cold like it has been sitting in a cooler. Also the waitress suggested the Italian dressing but it was really bland! The steak bomb was ok. My dinner mate complained that the fish and chips smelled like ammonia the fries were decent but not the best. The décor is amazing with really cool old style lights one of our tables was wobbly and we almost spilled our wine! Lol. Also it took about twenty minutes for us to get our check ran through. We were really ready to go too! Over all I am giving this restaurant a two but I think it could be a five with better chef, more seating, and happier wait staff.

We love the associated Italian restaurant downstairs so decided to try The Trap. Never again! Sat outside and the tables around us all decided to light up. I did not realize that al fresco dining meant«smoking section». The next problem was my husband got the wrong thing after we waited a long time. My dinner was cold. The flies were out in force and the drunk patrons next to us couldn’t say anything without really foul language so we decided to move inside. The flies were out of control inside also. I watched as others tables were swatting as badly as we were. Flies, cigarette smoke, obscenities, cold food, wrong order… done.

Well here we are again and now we have a very large FLY problem here at the trap We have come up with a new name How does FLYTRAP sound if you should come please make sure you bring a fly swatter. I kid you not their are literally 100s of flies in here. A fly swatter should come with the meal.

I am very reluctant to give a 1 star to any restaurant, however we were there tonight, Wednesday on wing night, $.35 and the place was packed inside and out. The problem was the flies, they were persistent and incessant, they were everywhere — on your legs, on your arms, on your food, they have a real infestation problem. When we asked to see the manager the waitress advised us that he was out on his boat. he should have been here or had someone in charge. We could not get through the calamari and wings the flies were just awful. We can’t imagine going back there. We would love to hear from the ownership to see what plans are in place to rid the restaurant of the flies.

the service was fine, the food was not. Ordered grilled cheese with fig, green apple and prosciutto. It wasn’t grilled cheese at all. It was a cold sandwich. The dirty chips were gross. They were dripping with oil and cold. The appetizers were calamari and potato bowl with cheese and shredded pork. I felt like I was eating from the frozen food section at BJ’s but BJ’s is better. Not worth a second visit.

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. We picked this place because it is dog friendly. They provide a big tub of water for the dog which is great. The food was good and so were the prices. The only reason we did not give it five stars was because the service was extremely slow. The waitress and the kitchen were both an issue. It was not busy and took over 45 minutes to get our burger, grilled cheese, pannini, and grinder. We ordered an appetizer but it came out with our meals. We will be back because it is dog friendly.

CAVEATEMPTOR: NOT a brewpub! They do NOT brew beer!!! brewpub(n.): an establishment selling beer brewed on the premises and often including a restaurant. The food was decent, Italian fare from the ristorante they share a wall with(Chianti’s, it said so on the receipt). The service was slow and shoddy: the waitstaff tried serving our dinner to the table on one side of us, while the table on the other side of us waited an obscene duration to be served their meal. The confused atmosphere was one of the worst things about this place, insomuch as I couldn’t tell what they were trying to be. I got the impression they wanted to be an Italian bistro, a sports pub, a barn bar all together with the furniture of a Chipotle’s Mexican grill(but Chipotle’s tables don’t wobble). They are, however, very forthright with their desire to throw electricity at you as they have charging stations for your glowing rectangles(phones/tablets) everywhere. It seems like a piecemeal collage of neo-trendiness that, in an attempt to appeal to a diverse younger crowd, disappoints all.

We’ve been to the TRAP twice this summer(once for lunch and once for dinner) and have had positive experiences each time. Both times, we were able to get a table on the new patio which allowed us to enjoy the fantastic RI weather. We tried BOGO Burger night on Thursday which was a great deal and the burgers were average. Our friends ordered the lasagna pizza which was very interesting, heavy, and delicious all at once. The dirty chips(one of the side options), pulled pork grilled cheese, and the beer pretzels(served with the delicious cheese and pulled pork dipping sauce) were fantastic each time. They have a number of beers, wines, and mason jar cocktails as well so you’re sure to fine something you like. Tips: –On weeknights, it tends to get very busy between 6 and 6:30PM through the rest of the dinner rush, so get there beforehand to get a table without a wait. –It can be VERY loud inside so if you’re dining with folks who might want a quieter atmosphere, aim for the patio. –TRAP is a great place to watch any sort of sports event/game with many TVs and an exciting atmosphere. –The patio is pet friendly and they provide a large water bowl for any furry friends you might have with you!

I really liked this place when it was the park side You could drop in and enjoy a burger and a beer Now that the place has been updated — new menu, new décor the entire vibe has changed — not necessarily worse off but they need to make some minor changes One person should manage both table and bar seating — today was the 2nd time I have been given a table or bar seat by an employee only to be told by a different employee that the spot was reserved — one time –shame on you — second time shame on me — so this time we left The bartender should not be holding seats when a hostess is managing table turn-over telling guests the bar is first come/first served(I am calling bullshit) I will continue to frequent the Trapp but only when the parking lot is empty to avoid the crowd The food is still decent and the drinks are good Same owner, similar bar type food with a bit if a twist Décor upgrade so your now competing with the«East Greenwich» Beso/café fresco crowd You can still get all their nightly specials(Monday pasta, Thursday bogo burgers, Wednesday wing night etc…)

We have been here twice. Good beer list, nice cocktails, and great food. Great place to stop before or after heading to Goddard Park. We have tried most of the apps on the menu and have not been disappointed. Sunday’s is half price apps all day and I believe from 4 – 6 every other day. Great deal in a great location.
