Shelley Salon & Day Spa

I followed my stylist Christina here more than a year ago, and have been very happy with each of my many visits to Shelley’s. Truth be told, I wish I didn’t have to visit the salon as often as I do, but I have been cursed with prematurely graying hair. I must have inherited this genetic defect from my mother, who started going gray in her 20’s. In her twenties! What the what?
So, anyway, although I’m not happy about the circumstances that bring me in on such a frequent basis, coming to Shelley’s is always a pleasure. I like that it’s casual yet classy without being at all pretentious. While it isn’t the cheapest option around, I feel good paying for the peace of mind that I’ll always leave happy. And I have previously paid far more money elsewhere for cuts/​color that left me feeling robbed and violated. Shelley, Christina, and all the staff here are very friendly, help each other out, and are eager to make the customers happy. Christina even tells me that my grays really aren’t *that* bad. She is too kind.
They have a nice selection of haircare products for sale, and apparently they allow you to return items you try and don’t like. I’ve gotten several great products here that I love, thanks to Christina’s recommendations, but have never needed to take advantage of the return policy. Sure, you can find cheaper prices online, but online shopping doesn’t provide the warm and fuzzy feeling of supporting a local business.
I should also add that although I’ve never used any of their other services (nails/​facial/​makeup, etc), I’m often here on Saturdays and have witnessed many a bridal party getting all gussied up for the Big Day. And they always look fabulous, dahling.

I had been going to another salon my whole life until a few years ago i popped into Shelley’s just for a root touch-​up (she was MUCH closer to where i live than my usual salon and I figured it was only a quick touch up). She didn’t just fix my roots, she re-​colored my hair ever so slightly just to a different shade that ended up looking SO much better on me. I was getting compliments on this tiny difference immediately. From that day forward i’ve been going to Shelley every two months. My hair is so much healthier until you get toward the bottom (we call that part «pre-​shelley» hair). She is truly a miracle worker. She knows me, she knows my hair, and she is incredible at what she does. Not to mention i also constantly get asked who does my eyebrows because they look fantastic after she gets her hands on them. I’ll never go near any other salon again.

The least judgemental salon that I’ve been to. I feel so comfortable and relaxed when I come here. Cassie does an awesome job with my cut and color.

I had an appointment with Jess to take my hair from a rooty darker blonde to winter white platinum and I have never been more in love with my hair color! While the initial result was still a little too golden toned for me (I’m crazy about the cool toned blonde color) I called the next day and she graciously saw me within the hour for another toner application, and the results are AMAZING! I’ve always wanted this hair color and everyone loves it. Best of all, this salon uses Olaplex which is the best thing to ever happen to bleach blondes, my hair has never felt softer or healthier. Thank you Jess and Shelley Salon, so happy I found them and can’t wait for my next appointment!

Came here to visit a friend who’s a stylist here. I was incredibly impressed. Christina (my friend) did my hair here and she’s done my hair multiple times at other places she’s worked at, and Shelley’s is by far the best atmosphere for her and other stylists. I can’t speak for the mani/pedi’s or massage or facials, but you’re definitely in the right hands here at Shelley, and I am by no means biased.

I needed a haircut desperately and made an appointment at Shelley’s. I had an appointment with Christy for a wash, cut and style. The head massage was wonderful and she made me feel very relaxed in the chair. I am not much of a small-​talker so I usually don’t like haircuts, manicures, pedicures, etc because I just prefer to sit their silently. She asked me questions about how I wanted my hair but she didn’t pressure me to make small talk. We did a bit because I felt comfortable with her but I think she knew I was kind of introverted. I wanted a long bob and it came out great. She made sure everything was perfect and styled my hair exactly how I wanted it. I also bought in rollers to see if she could help me put them in (I have thick hair and they always fall out) and she showed me how to do a few. Overall the experience was wonderful and I will be coming back when I need a trim and maybe some blonde highlights!

I had the most amazing facial with Shannon today. I was not surprised to see other glowing reviews about her. She was professional, knowledgeable, and so sweet. My face feels brand new! She taught me a lot about products that would work for me without pushing anything on me. Even though I had a Groupon, I was treated like a full paying customer and then some.

This review is for Shannon. Shannon did my bridal party and my wedding makeup in August 2013. Shannon was a rockstar. She showed up early, was super flexible (the photographer kept insisting she relocate to take better pictures), and made everyone look fabulous. Most people commented on how I looked «glowing, «which I assure you was the magic of Shannon’s artistry because I was sleep deprived, stressed and anxious. She did a great job of having people look like better versions of themselves – that looked amazing both in real life and on camera.

I bought a groupon for a mini spa day based on the great reviews on Unilocal.The groupon was for a gel manicure, a 30 minute massage, and a mini facial (so w/​o massage). The gel manicure nails looked ok, but when she was done, there was polish on my cuticles and skin, and in trying to remove it, I ended up peeling portions of the polish off my nails! The massage was relaxing, but it was suppose to be 30 minutes and it was only 20. I know, because I always keep track of massage time since some places (like this one) try to skimp on the time. And finally, the facial, which was the best part and my first facial taught me a very good lesson. Don’t get a facial! hahaha My skin is worse now than it was when I went in. Now I have bumps all over my face where previously was smooth skin. Good thing the groupon was only $ 65. never again.

This salon is so bad. I used to go and had my hair done by Shelly who was great. But she seems to not want to take on or keep too many clients. She recommended that I go to another stylist who gave me the worse hair cut and it took me months to grow out. I am kind of shocked that no one from the salon has called to see why I have not booked any more appointments since I used to be a regular for all salon services and products. Goes to show you… Shelly does not care about loosing business. For a BAD hair cut go to Shelly’s.

I highly recommend this salon, the owner (Shelley) is very professional and is very good at what she does. The salon is very nice and clean. I chose this salon for my wedding, I had 5 bridesmaids and myself. I chose a half up-​half down hairstyle, it was all curled and they added extensions for length and volume. It lasted all day and I received MANY compliments on how beautiful my hair looked. All of my bridesmaids had different styles of up do’s, some to the side, some low bun’s. We all had our makeup done as well. Our makeup lasted all day. I was the only one to have the airbrush foundation but I loved it, I looked flawless in all of my wedding photos. We were all done on time, and everyone looked stunning so I couldn’t have been happier. I have also had Shelley cut and color my hair, I am very particular and usually get anxiety before any hair cut. I am 100% comfortable when she does my hair because I KNOW she does a great job. Unlike other hair stylists, she listens to what YOU want and advises about what she thinks will look best, but always does what you want. I would highly recommend giving this salon a try, because I have always been very happy with their services.
