Had my baby shower here, it was perfect!!! Paul was excellent in fulfilling our wishes. The places looks great. In this expensive economy, Brooklyn fête is veryyyyyyy reasonable financially. I recommend this place!!!

I was the event coordinator for a baby shower at Brooklyn Fête on Sunday August 23rd. It was a baby shower for one of my closest friends. The location of this hall is perfect: just a few blocks away from the 2⁄5 train and a skip hop or dollar cab away from the F, Q & B trains. I booked the hall and back yard for 7 hours, 2 of those hours were for decorating(my decision). The hall gives a complimentary 30 mins for decorating. From the moment I called the owner I knew that he was a professional business man. He kindly gave me the details about price and amenities, then we set up a time for me to take a look at the hall. Upon arriving to Brooklyn Fête, I knew this was the place for my friend’s baby shower. It was very clean, with two stocked bathrooms; 2 six feet tables were included with the hall and another 2 six feet tables were included with the back yard. The owner offered to show me around, he allowed me to video record and take pictures. He was very articulate and he also gave me a grace period of 24 hours to call with a deposit. Three days before my friend’s babyshower, I forgot to call and pay what I owed(It was due 7 days prior) and Lisa the executive assistant kindly called and emailed me with a reminder. On the day of the shower I thought we were supposed to be allowed into the hall at 3:15(my time was really 3:30) and my anxiety got the best of me. I called screaming at everyone including the owner and manager. The owner kindly came to the hall and showed me that I was wrong. His kind, professional and calm mannerisms led me to apologize over and over and over again. Then he stayed and helped me decorate. I wanted 12 paper parasols hung from the ceiling and he took over 70 mins unscrewing 12 light bulbs in the ceiling, tying fish line to the umbrellas and hanging them.(He was more than generous, I am so grateful and ashamed of my behavior) LESSONLEARNED! The hall isn’t big, it’s perfect for a small and intimate event. My friend’s shower accommodated 60 – 70 people, so we had 1230″ round(4 seater tables) and 48 chairs. We also had chairs in the back yard, a large love seat for the mother to be, a desert and candy table, a section for gifts. It was perfect!!! We used the back yard for drinks and food… The DJ was comfortably placed inside the hall. There was enough space for dancing, mingling and catching up. It was the best hall for my friend’s event. The owner and manager were very respectful, helpful and understanding. We were supposed to leave the hall by 11:30 and honestly didn’t finish packing up until close to 1am(sorry guys). We also paid a $ 50 fee for cleaning up– I recommend it.
