Willy’s Restaraunt & Catering

Willy’s still does catering!!! The restaurant closed but they are available for catering AND IT IS AMAZING!!! We had them cater our BBQ and wedding at the Inn at Mountain View Farm July 2014. Can’t say enough good things about them. Food was incredible! Highly recommend.

Darn! I’ve heard that this place closed. Maybe it will reopen? I live just outside of Boston but my parents have a place up in this area. I was visiting them and they wanted to take me out for lunch. My expectations were low because honestly the restaurants in that area aren’t the best. They’re ok, just not great.
I was pleasantly surprised by Willy’s. It’s an intimate place with a cute bar and pleasant ambiance. I wouldn’t consider it fancy but it was nice. I ordered a glass of wine and a sandwich. Both were great. Through the back of the room you could see their small vineyard. My parents had gone there a few times and they were very happy with it. I was hoping to go back myself but alas. ..

Had a wonderful meal, drinks and dessert the first time I visited. Unfortunately, the following 2 visits were pretty awful. Both times my fish was so burned that it was inedible. Such a disappointment. I won’t be back.

The servers were absolutely miserable. I could tell you about one girl’s terrible double shift and another’s miscarriage. True story. They complained in a gaggle, right next to our table. The food took FOREVER. Seriously. And there were no standard drinks. Gin and what? Pomegranate? «no! tonic. I want tonic» But my chicken was amazing, soooo good, but I still have to give one star. Oh yeah, they said, «don’t sit outside. There are too many bugs». But the outside patio had plenty of happy patrons dining, as we sat uncomfortably in the sweat box basement.

What a terrific restaurant! I wasn’t expecting a place like this in East Burke. The staff was all very friendly and made our visit a lot of fun. We had an adorable server named Lily I think. She was new and a little nervous, but treated us very well. She was backed up by the more seasoned Emily and between the two they took great care of us. The bartender was also friendly and knowledgable.
The ambiance of the downstairs dining room was much better than expected. It’s the kind of cozy restaurant that would fit right in in any major city… Well decorated, candles, a piano, everything spotless. There’s also an outdoor patio, but since that abutted a small road and the parking lot we opted to dine inside.
My wife and I ordered a steak that I think came with roasted potatoes and maybe gorgonzola butter and the roast duck which came with a risotto cake and calvados pears. The steak was perfectly cooked and very good quality. The duck was likewise very flavorful and the accompaniments were maybe even better. My only knock is that the breast of the duck was overcooked; however the leg portion was perfect. They had a drink special called a «raspberry sherbet» that night which was also wonderful.
Willy’s would be great for a causal dinner out with friends or a special night out! I highly recommend it.

My fiancé and I made a trip from NJ to Vt to mountain bike. We went to Willy’s first for lunch to check out our Kingdom trail map, and fuel up before our day of riding. As soon as we walked through the restaurant and onto the outdoor patio… I was in love… And though, this is where we have to get married (we had not yet picked a place)
The gardens, the grounds, the vineyard, the old stone chimney… LOVED IT ALL! And then the food made us fall in love!
Went back later that night for dinner and did the entire thing over again! While at the quaint bar waiting for a table, we talked to the owners about the option of having a wedding at their location, and the history of the restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious meal, my fiancé had the gentleman’s fillet, I had a mediterranean style pasta dish. Our waiter was so helpful, but not intrusive.
Needless to say, we are in talks with Chris, the owner, to book our wedding.
We love Vermont and we love Willy’s!

Amazing food! Arguably, the best food you’ll get in the Northeast Kingdom.
The restaurant isn’t big (although the ambiance is wonderful) and the food is a bit pricy. But, don’t let that stop you! You’ll be hard pressed to find a better place to have lunch mid-​mountain biking or a nicer place to have dinner and a great glass of wine.
Great wine list, cute outdoor patio, friendly service.
My favorite menu items: Winter’s Harvest Salad with tofu and the onion ring appetizer.

Great place. Looks unassuming from the outside but you go down the stairs and are greeted by the nicest little dinning room and super friendly staff. We weren’t able to get reservations but they seated us nicely near the bar. Nice varied menu with some ‘standards’ on there but all homemade. The onion rings which are often a soggy miserable mess were fantastic. A light cornmeal (i think) crust with a nice zesty sauce. Our mussels in white wine were perfect as was a nice take on fish and chips: fresh, light and handmade.
If you are reading this, get off your butt and get over there. Someone is probably trying to beat you there.
Go for a romantic meal or bring your well behaved children with you (a pet peeve of mine… if your kids are too tired and grumpy, take care of them first and don’t ruin it for the rest of us…)
I look forward to going back sans enfants and sharing a good meal with friends.
It does not disappoint.
