Seriously the most professional and friendly tattoo shop I’ve ever been to! Very bright and inviting just like the people! Carissa was amazing! She made my dreams come true with this tattoo. She is so friendly and eady to talk to. I was super nervous, but she made me feel better instantly. I got a water color yin yang done by her. The colors are amazing and the black is so clean. Its my favorite tattoo! Thank you Carissa! I highly reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for a new tattoo team, as any of the artists are amazing. I can’t wait to go back!

Found the place of my dreams the artist are amazing the family nice as can be!!! They made my experience great and the tattoo absolutely BEAUTIFUL I love it I am so happy its going to be a part of me forever and that is the way you should feel when you get a tattoo! It all started off about a year ago. After looking around for nearly two years for a good tattoo shop, a friend recommended Wave N Pave. I contacted Carissa and was amazed ho0w quickly she got back to me. Helping me out with coming up with a design that was far beyond what I expected and helping me set up an appointment in no time.
She paid great attention to what I wanted to get and helped out greatly with fulfilling my tattoo wish.
Her work is just amazing. In fact I got a second tattoo the same day.
Since this first visit I have added 3 more tattoos by Carissa to my collection, now totaling 5 :).
The shop is cozy, clean and the atmosphere is just amazing. From the first moment I walked in the shop I was treated like an old friend. Definitely will be getting more work done here in the future

Terrific family owned tattoo parlor and surf/​skate shop. I’ve had a tattoo done by Carissa and was/​am fully satisfied with her work. It was almost painless, her and her husband Mark give out a really fun and relaxed vibe. The majority of Carissa’s personal artwork is exactly my style, one of the reasons why I commited to get a tattoo here. The whole shop is really clean, everyone’s very accommodating as well. The prices, to me, are what I expected in Boston, not too steep not too cheap. Just right. Once this new tattoo heals in a month or two ill be back to this shop again and bringing some more future customers with me. If a shop treats me right I spread the word and treat them right. Take the blue line over and check this place out.

Wasn’t impressed with my tattoos I got there, they charged way too much for tattoo goo, and they always close early…

I was shopping around for a new tattoo parlor since the location of my tat called for a women artist. Google lead me to Wave N Pave.
I emailed Carissa & she replied same day. We scheduled a consultation. She listened to my idea, looked at some pix I brought in. She seemed to really pay attention & didn’t make me feel like a dork (some places tend to give that you’re not cool enough vibe).
So I scheduled my appt. Carissa was great, fun & professional. The actual tattoo came out waaay better then I had expected. Really good quality work. Also, she affordable by no means cheap either. However, she didn’t charge me an arm & a leg for a decent sized tat.

Wave and pave used to be in Winthrop but they recently moved to a new location near 1A in east boston and opened a tatoo parlor inside the surf shop. The owners are very nice and helpful. The shop has the atmosphere of a very laid back store; it’s got a new england version of the aloha spirit. As of this writing they have a small but good selection of longboards and fun boards. They may have short boards too; i just wasn’t looking for a board so I didn’t notice. I came there to buy gloves for surfing. They have very reasonable prices. It is so great to have a good surf shop in the Boston area. I used to have to drive two hours round trip to buy surf equiptment and now we have wave and pave in our back yard. It only takes about fifteen minutes to get there from downtown boston without traffic. Call them first ot make sure they have what you are looking for.

Mass doesn’t have a lot to choose from for surf shops as most ppl tend to go to nh. or ri. or me. But with that being said Carissa over at wave and pave along with the help of her mom and husband have really helped to answer a much needed call for those looking for a great shop with local knowledge to aid in helping skaters and surfers along with some ink jobs too!.. They are down to earth as well as some of the nicest peopl within the industry! I highly recommend them… So go hit them up!

I was jogging down the beach in Winthrop when I first moved in, and saw a surfer. I couldn’t believe that there was actually surf here! The next day I went looking for a board and found the Wave N Pave! This place rocks. They gave me a sweet deal on an awesome longboard and wetsuit, I went surfing in town the same day I got all my gear. Surfing in New England?! What?! Found lots of good waves in town and through new hampshire, really opened my eyes up to locations and possibilities of surfing anywhere. I love this shop! They’re often hosting fun events, art shows, skate contests. This shop really supports the community and brings a lot of life into this town.
