Always the best and freshest ingredients used. I usually get the cranberry turkey sandwich and soup sampler. My favourite place in East Aurora!

Took my wife for our anniversary and had a great time. Very pricey but worth it. Food is high quality and delivered by friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great wine selection and staff seems to know the food and wine offerings very well.

This was actually a really great place to eat. We decided to eat here because we heard this was like the go to place in west Seneca area and I have to say at least in this experience they were right. When we came here at first we had a somewhat negative experience we had to park vey far away like around the corner which I found to be annoying because it was weird I felt like we were walking through someone’s back parking lot like trespassing because of the looks We were getting looks that made us feel this way. When we finally arrived in to the restaurant we were met with a very nice hostess who took us to our table which ended up being in the bar because they were so busy. The waiter came right over after we sat down and we ordered drinks. I decided in the chocolate martini and I have k say it was full of alcohol maybe a little two much but for martinis it did its job. I ordered something out of the restaurant weeks menu which was pork chop a giant onion ring, and cooked vegetables the pork chop was amazing. It wasn’t to dry which is usually what I get when I get pork chops it tasted amazing they seasoned it perfectly. The onion ring was actually my favorite part of the meal. It was the best onion ring I have ever eaten, for one it was humongous and fried to perfection I probably will go back for just that. The vegetable were okay not my favorite they probably could of been cooked a little while longer. I loved the décor of this place it was a casual yet sophisticated. It had different types of people in here from different social standards but it Seemed all were treated with the same respect so that was great. Price was maybe on the more expensive side but for the quantity of food you receive I think you may not even notice. All in all this was a great place to grab dinner either by yourself with a date or with family it wouldn’t matter they an accommodate all it seems. Just be tolerant of parking and you will do fine.

Simple enchanting of a meal, from start to finish just seemed like a place to be from amazing staff to a magnificent meal I must say it was a near perfect experience, some things lacking to give it a true 5 stars but it’s a solid 4 ½ star location, prices can be a tad high but the fresh greens and excellent staff make it oh so worth it! I highly suggest the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and if your enjoying a nice white wine as for a wedge of white cheddar to complete a divine dessert experience

Enjoying a great Blackened Haddock sandwich and a fresh tomato and mozzarella salad. Janet has a nice Tarragon Chicken Salad sandwich. Great lunch. Our server Kirsten is spot on and very nice. Sitting on their patio on a fantastic Saturday afternoon.

By and far the nicest restaurant in East Aurora, and possibly the entire South Towns. Meals are on the pricey side but the quality and taste is there. Crab cakes and banana nut brownie Sunday are the best! Reservations recommended as it gets pretty crowded especially on weekends.

It’s a 20 minute drive from downtown Buffalo but worth every minute. We ordered too much food since we underestimated the portion sizes but everything was delicious. Salads were well-balanced, the mussels with andouille were excellent, copper river salmon and ribeye were also great although we could t finish them. We did save some room for the delectable chocolate cake which did not disappoint. This is simply a lovely restaurant in a lovely village. Do go.

My husband & I had been trying to have dinner here for a few months now and we were glad that we finally made it happen! Since we live 30 minutes away it’s not easy to just stop in and grab dinner. We had tried to go the previous Friday but when I checked the website it stated that they don’t take reservations but you can call ahead. I took that as call ahead when you are on your way to the restaurant. NOT the case. When I «called ahead» it was 5pm and the lady that answered said that the earliest they could seat us would be 8:30! So in a confused voice I asked how can that be when i’m calling ahead now? She advised that you can call ahead up to a week in advance. I said to her that to me sounds like making a reservation. She disagreed so we decided to go somewhere else closer to home. This is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars. You can’t have on your website that you don’t take reservations but yet you allow people to «call ahead» up to a week in advance. This past Friday night we just happened to be out in East Aurora visiting friends that own the Bookworm book store and my husband suggested we call and see if we can get in here for dinner. The lady advised him that they were booked for the night BUT there were a few high tables at the bar area that we could eat at so we said we would be in. When we arrived we were taken to the back bar area which was nicely decorated and felt cozy. We were greeted by our server within a few minutes and ordered drinks to start. I went on her recommendation on the Pomegranate martini and my husband had a Manhattan. Drinks were great! For dinner, I started with the wedge salad but I had substituted their blue cheese/french dressings for their balsamic dressing, glad I did. Excellent dressing! My main course I went with the filet. The filet had good flavor but the middle section wasn’t cooked quite enough so I cut that out and gave it to my husband who prefers his more on the rare side. The roasted potatoes and green beans that accompanied the meat were very good, potatoes had a crispy edge and the beans were cooked perfectly. My husband started with an order of oysters. He requested 2 different kinds which they allowed and he liked them. For his main course he ordered the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin which just like the reviews state is a HUGE portion! He raved about the dish! He substituted his potatoes for their horseradish mashed which he said were«the best mashed potatoes he has ever had!» That is a HUGE compliment as he is a connoisseur of mashed potatoes! haha There was enough food for him to bring home for lunch the next day. We were so full that we had no room for any dessert so we will definitely be going back and saving room! Next time I would like to sit outside on their front patio area, just need to get on the list! I would have given 5 stars for sure if it wasn’t for their no reservation/call ahead issue. Hopefully my next visit will be awesome as this was and I can change it to a 5 star!

Called around 12:00 to see if I needed to make a reservation for two for lunch that same afternoon. The woman on the phone told me I did not have to but that she couldn’t guarantee me a table… needless to say we made a reservation and arrived shortly after. The inside of the restaurant is sort of a maze; you arrive in front of a host station and you can go left, right, straight, all sorts of ways. I never would have figured out how to get to the outdoor seating without a guide. We sat outside and there were about six other tables dining as well. I was concerned about being underdressed, but in black jeans and a short sleeved casual shirt I was more than acceptable. It took a while for a server to come over and greet us and throughout that time we would have liked to be looking over a drink menu so we could figure out what to order. Finally, our server noticed us and said he would be over shortly. We looked over the menu, mostly salads and they all sounded really delicious. In addition to salads there were a few sandwiches, pretty simple menu but I was thrilled because I love salad and I really had my choice of about ten. Our server came over and read us the specials. A few soups, two salad specials and a fish special or two. We went with the black and blue steak salad special and I went with the chicken souvlaki salad per our server’s recommendation. I specified NOOLIVES because olives are gross and they aren’t the kind of thing you can just pick out because they get their nasty olive juice all over everything. After taking our food order, our server asked what we wanted to drink. This was our first time here so we had no idea what kind of drinks they offered so we asked for a menu. It took a while for him to come back over. At one point, I thought the food was going to come out before the drink menu did. To our server’s defense, he wasn’t standing around twiddling his thumbs, he was doing his best to make it to all of his tables, but they needed another server on, I mean the service was REALLY slow. Drink menu came out and my lunch partner got a Corona, I stuck with the water, nothing tickled my fancy. Sitting on the outside patio was enjoyable except there were a lot of plants blocking our view of the town. I’m assuming this is done for privacy and to block the noise of cars going by, but I like to people watch and we weren’t really able to do so sitting on this patio. The inside of the restaurant is VERY dark. Ultimately, we were happy to be outside on such a nice day. Our salads came out and were big. My chicken souvlaki salad had black olives all over it. Gross. I was pissed, I can’t lie. I hate olives so much, as if I haven’t already stressed that. It ruined the entire taste of the salad and I was unable to eat the lettuce because all the olive juice was on them. However, the chicken on top was delicious, perfectly seasoned and plentiful, just could have bit a little bit hotter. The yogurt sauce was awesome, at one point I was eating it on my fork by itself. The greek dressing was a perfect combination of lemon and garlic and went really well with the chicken and other vegetables. The salad was topped with grilled pita too. The black and blue salad was a hit as well. Bill came to about $ 34. Prices are a little steep in my opinion, but overall it was an okay time. Service was where I had to really dock a star. We weren’t checked on until the very end so if anything was wrong with our salads(like olives) we weren’t able to say anything anyways. I wouldn’t race back here any time but it was decent.

As someone much more inclined to visit a bar than a bistro, choosing to dine at Rick’s on Main had more to do with the context of the evening than the content of my character. But it was Valentine’s Day, so we both wanted to go somewhere a little nicer. We sat down and looked at the wine list. The first thing my girlfriend asked when the waiter came over was if the wine we wanted was oaked or unoaked, which I am thankful for because I would’ve asked if it was white or red. Without missing a beat, the waiter gave us a satisfactory answer: unoaked. His quick answer was only the first example of the excellent service we received throughout the night. We ordered a Caesar Salad to split, and the waiter asked if we wanted fresh anchovies on top. My girlfriend looked at me as if «no» was an option. Of course you get fresh anchovies on top of a Caesar. What do you think this is? If you are out to dinner and they are kind enough to offer you fresh anchovies on a Caesar, you absolutely say yes. For my entrée I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Fettuccine, which despite sounding like one of the more low-brow, Guy Fieri-like items on the menu, was delicious. The spice of the pasta worked amazingly well with the goat cheese that was very generously heaped on top. The chicken breast was cooked as well as chicken breast can be cooked, and though I normally don’t care for mushrooms, they tasted great in the pesto, white wine, and sun-dried tomato cream sauce. My girlfriend pointed out that it would have paired better with a red wine, and I agreed. And I wasn’t just saying that to sound like I knew what I was talking about; the thing about great food and great wine and great service is that the confluence of the three makes you a much smarter diner. With that said, we stayed out until almost 5 a.m. and when we got back I ate the leftover pasta with my fingers. It was a great night!

It wasn’t a place that I ever thought of going to, my grandma invited me cuz it was my Aunt Kathy’s Birthday and this is one of her favorite places to Eat. This was my first time dining at a Restaurant in East Aurora(The only time I’ve ever been in East Aurora was when I went to Vidler’s, which was right across the Street from the Restaurant). It was a Breezy(wind all up in our Faces), but we got in and waited almost 10 minutes for Jimmy and Kathy to show up then we all sat by the front Window. It felt great to see both of them again(I see them like Twice a Year). We all got some Drinks, everyone shared a Bottle of Pinot Grigio while I got a Tall glass of Stella Artois Beer(Never thought I’d be Tipsy after Lunch). For our Appetizers we all got Soup, Jimmy and Rick both got Bowls of the Pepper Steak while me Kathy and Grandma all got Soup Samplers(I get to try 3 homemade Soups for just 5 bucks, such a great deal), Pepper Steak, Butternut Squash and Loaded Baked Potato. Butternut Squash was Smooth, Creamy, Nutty, topped with Raisins and Candied Pecans, The Potato soup(which was topped with Cheddar Cheese and Chives) I liked that it was a creamy Potato Soup instead of big chunks of Potato and I wished there was just a little more Bacon, The Pepper Steak was my least favorite of the 3(it was Pretty similar to Beef Barley, lot of chunks of Stewed Vegetables and not enough Beef, I also wish there was more heat to it). For our Entrée’s Kathy got the Chicken and Artichoke Salad(she said its her favorite to get here), Jimmy got the Crab Cakes(Usually I’m not a big fan of Crab Cakes but they looked really good), Grandma got the Blackened Haddock Sandwich, Rick got the Steak Sandwich, There weren’t a lot of things on the Lunch Menu that interested me. The one thing that I saw that looked and sounded good was the Scallop Tostadas, this dish was Hit & Miss for me(6 Spiced & Seared Scallops atop Crispy Tostadas with Guacamole, Roasted Corn, Pico de Gallo, Black Beans and Chipotle Aioli then topped with some greens dressed in a Citrus Vinaigrette), I didn’t like the Presentation that much there were too many Greens on top they should’ve put some on the bottom as well as the Top, Scallops were Delicious(and they gave me and Extra one) although one scallop looked like somebody stepped on it. I wasn’t crazy for the Tomatoes and the Tostadas were a bit Soggy(maybe because of some of the ingredients on top of them). But I enjoyed coming out to Lunch and the Service was Great. Like I said before it was nice to see my Aunt and Uncle after so Long. I gotta stop in again for Dinner !!!

I was really impressed with Rick’s! Visited on a Friday afternoon with my mom, sister, and Mimi. I was suspicious of the reputation — sometimes I feel as though EA folks think every place in EA is great. Well this one really is! I had a salad that was on special — full of all sorts of wonderful things like cheese and steak and tomatoes and other beautiful bright vegetables. But what I thought added the extra star was the thoughtfulness of the chef in adding some roasted red potatoes to the salad plate. Not only were they delicious, but they made the salad a complete meal, the one reason I am always reluctant to order one. Croutons, I argue, should not be factored into a balanced salad. The rest of the fam ordered a mix of sandwiches and soup, and everyone ate every last bite. The service was friendly and professional and the interior was bright and cozy. Believe the hype — Rick’s on Main was well worth the stop!

Fantastic service, above average food which is plentiful, fresh, beautifully plated. Chef makes great soups, salads, sandwiches that are lovely to look at and even better in taste. My husband and I ate lunch here one day, met with Kathy the owner, along with her husband Rick to plan a family lunch for the following day. Everyone was so impressed with the service, food and drink. If we lived in this area we would be regulars at Ricks. It is a five star place in a delightful small town.

This place never disappoints. It’s really hard to get a table in the dining room, as they don’t take reservations, so be prepared to eat at the bar or seated at a bistro table. I’m good with either/or, so I’ve never really cared that I’m 0-forever at getting seated at a table outside the bar area. The food here is really good. The star on the menu, IMHO, are the banana peppers appetizer. A staple in this part of the world, Rick’s take on the dish includes a delicious tomato-based sauce, crumbled sausage and delicious cheese. Not too spicy, just right! I’ve never had anything but a great meal here. Although Main Street EA has many interesting choices, I always end up here. Take my advice… Get. In. Here!

Rick’s is a pretty solid staple of the East Aurora Main Street experience. the food is fantastic and getting a chance to sit on the patio during the summer months to some quality food makes the experience that much better. Now don’t get me wrong the food is good, there are some solid items in the menu that will please anyone… The prices for what comes out in the plates is what gets me. the portions are giant and generally they tend to put as many things on the plate as they can without them being a solid addition. If I’m going to order a $ 60 steak, then don’t just give me a giant steak, take the time and consideration to the sides too. it’s not the time to just toss on some over cooked broccoli just because it wasn’t the highlight of the dish. Don’t let this small thing make you steer clear of Rick’s, it’s a great place in the EA. just be prepared to sling out little more cash for the portion sizes.

I’m sorry to report that for me, Rick’s lost a star. Not because of the food, it’s stellar. Rather due to shabby treatment by… the hostess and her attitude. The Golden Rule of the restaurant business is to treat everyone as if it is their ONE and ONLY night of the YEAR they are eating out. Each customer chose YOUR restaurant. Treat them the best and most hospitable way you can, make it a great night to remember. We made reservations two weeks in advance, mentioned we’d prefer the patio. We arrived for our special occasion and were told there were no tables available on the patio, you cannot reserve seating on the patio and I’ll show you to your table. We were seated at a small table for the size of our party of four and next to a larger(and louder) party. There was no way I was going to sit inside on this beautiful summer evening. We traipsed back to where we came from and Madam Hostess suggested we wait at the bar for 20 minutes. We schlepped over there where we awkwardly stood around. I told the members of my party we are going somewhere else(and I meant it, I felt like our money was not as green as the next person’s) when lo! and behold, Madam fetched us to say that TWO tables JUST opened up. Now, I am no mathematician, but I counted SEVEN open tables. SEVEN. If they do not take reservations, who were these 7 tables waiting for? We were seated not at our choice of a table, but a corner one under a speaker. This treatment jaded me for the rest of the evening, and if not for the other members of my party, I would have hiked in a heartbeat before sitting down at the first undesirable table. It overshadowed not only the occasion we were celebrating, but the good food as well. I have no intention on returning to Rick’s on Main.

Rick’s reputation precedes it and for good reason. We were seated in the bar area at a high top which was the perfect atmosphere. Bustling and not too stuffy. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. We did not try any appetizers or dessert but the entrees were fantastic. I went with a filet mignon. Great portion and very tender. Although it was definitely rare rather than my ordered med-rare, I enjoyed every bite. The cajun butter seasoning was delicious, as were the flavorful sides of baby red potatoes and squash/zucchini. Although everything was delicious, I’m not sure it warranted the price tag(my filet came to about $ 40). I’ve had steaks that were just as good for a much lower price. And let’s be real: it’s pretty easy to make a steak taste good when you add butter!

I’ve heard that Rick’s is the best place to eat in the southtowns and it certainly lives up to the hype. I called on a Saturday evening to see if they had room for two and they fit us in a comfortable high top by the bar. I went with lobster pasta. I’m a sucker for seafood pasta dishes. It was perfect! My date had filet mignon and although it looked pretty rare(I’m mostly vegetarian), she said it was great. We skipped both appetizers and dessert but the bread served before our entrees was a tasty start to the meal. The wine and liquor selection are extensive but the beer list could use a little spicing up, especially given the rise in beer culture in the southtowns of Western New York.

Went here tonight(7÷31÷14) as it was new since the last time I was in East Aurora a few years ago and it was near my hotel. Requested to sit on the porch which had a wonderful ambiance. The cocktail menu was limited to martinis… and the bread to start was stale. But my starter of tomato soup was delicious. My companion’s starter of cherry salad was also wonderful. My entrée(which was technically an appetizer) of marinated and grilled Greek shrimp was perfect and flavorful for a summer dinner! My companion’s dinner of mussel stew left a bit to be wanting as the mussels were extremely small and the sausage was an overpowering flavor in the stew. The staff was pleasant and wonderful, and I would return based on my entrée.
