Luigi’s Pizza and Catering

The service is good. The prices are high. It is a pizza joint disguising itself as an Italian restaurant. The portion size is very good. The pasta sauce has no flavor and is very watery. The salad dressing is so watered down that it has no flavor and runs to the bottom of the plate. There are so many Italian places try one of those. Even the chains are better than here.

The beans and greens soup is the best you will ever find! Every single item from the ace is authentic. I have been in the kitchen and it is very clean and good. All the Italian dishes are made to order

Service was prompt and polite. Would most definitely come back and try another meal like the eggplant parmigiana or chicken Alfredo. The menu looked good and made me want to come back for another entrée

I ordered turkey blt and it was really good. Quality turkey and lots of it. I like the toasted sesame seed roll. Like others have said a bit pricey. Two subs and small fry for take out cost $ 24. When I pulled up I was a bit scared. Really old but inside seemed clean and well loved. Sub quality very good IMHO.

OK… I’m calling them out on this…
We have been regular diners at this location since before Luigi even owned it, as we live nearby. The food has always been pretty good. I don’t care for their sauce, so I stay away form the pasta side of the menu, and I think their subs are WAY over-​priced, but we enjoy their pizza (when it’s thoroughly cooked!) and their wings are OK. In addition, it is hard to find a place where you can actually sit down and dine-​in for pizza and wings in East Amherst, so this works.
The service is fast and friendly, and the complimentary bread sticks are an awesome way to start each meal.
Lately, however, the prices have gone up as the quality has gone down.
My biggest «beef» is that they far too often run out of fish fries during dinner on Fridays. This is crazy, as that is many times our specific reason for going there. A couple times they said something like «we’ll see if we have one left» Don’t take it – it’s reheated from lunch and sub-​par.
I hate to see a local business shoot itself in the foot this way, so please take this as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Until they improve the quality to go with their higher prices, we will dine elsewhere.

The last couple of times we’ve ordered from here it hasn’t been great. Not bad, but simply A-​OK.

Best Steak and Dandelion sub around. My cousin will say that they have the best tripe, too. Great Italian food!

Not trying to bash this restaurant. Just my honest opinion… The pizza is horrible. I’ve tried it twice now. Both completely horrible. Honestly who puts raw broccoli on a vegetarian pizza and who makes a red pizza with Pasta sauce. Wings were good hence the 2 stars.

Had a pizza. There was no car parked, wondered why. Got the reason after tasting the pizza. Stick to store brands!

You wondered what happened to the other brother (the one in green) from Super Mario Brothers? Well I found him! He shacked up with Princess Toadstool and opened this place just north of Transit & North French.
Edit: I finally got to try Luigi’s Pizza. It tastes okay at best, the slices are small, I am really not into it at all… the people who work in there are nice enough but as far as Buffalo pizza goes, this is nowhere near the top of my list, sadly honestly probably not even in my top 50 in WNY. But if you love it then more powder to you!
Original: I’ve had about enough of Luigi’s Pizza! I would very much like to write a review on them as I do all pizza places, but I have been unable to get a slice! I have been there FIVE OR SIX TIMES, two of those times I called ahead and they said they had slices… not one slice so far. They always try and sell me a personal pizza when I get there… not interested! Just want a slice! I’ve heard that their food is amazing, not just the pizza… I’ll try it sometime. But not until they serve me up a slice! I have tried it, by the way, but not hot and first hand and fresh out of the oven.

Every time I come home to visit family we get the tripe. They don’t add a bunch of crazy extra ingridients. It’s very simple and It’s unbeatable.

I moved to Buffalo a year ago. I’ve still been waiting for that perfect pizza. I found it today. Best pizza in town. Place is old and looks like a dive but it is clean the service is great and the pizza even better. My search is over.

had a party for 15, 4 pizza’s, 50 wings, 2 anitpastas, 2 chefs salads… everything was excellent. wings huge and crispy, pizza’s excellent, and salads were great as was the dressings. will make this our new go to place!

I feel bad being the only 4-​star review (as of this post) but I can’t legitimately give it 5 stars. Maybe it’ll change when I go back again but for now, it stays at 4… which isn’t bad. I thought the food here was quite good. The pizza as good except the sauce was a bit acidic and had too much of it.
The wings here are very good. I typically order my wings dry with the sauce on the side since I can control how much sauce to use. It’s also a good way of judging the quality of the wing and not the quality of the sauce as a single item. The BBQ sauce was below par for me… and since I did order it dry, I was able to give the chicken two thumbs up with the BBQ sauce 2 thumbs down. Imagine the complications if I had ordered them wet?!
The interior is outdated but nothing too distracting. As mentioned above, I’m gonna have to come back again and give it another go to see if I can upgrade the review but still worth a try if you haven’t had it before.

One of my favorite places in Buffalo! I really think these are the best wings! Meaty and tender! Great pizza! Lots of cheese!

Better wings than Duff”s and great pizza too! Unless you like your wings swimming in sauce.

If you’re craving Italian food, go to Luigi’s Pizza! While their usual menu isn’t that comprehensive, they have yummy daily specials written on the chalkboard that come with a chef salad. I love how they don’t skimp out on the ingredients and they give you LOTS and LOTS of food! The portions are enormous, especially for the price that you’re paying, so I’d highly recommend this place for those who’re hungry.
I’ve tried their Steak Pizza, Cheese & Mushroom Pizza, Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Parmesan, Vegetable Pizza, etc, and they were all great.
Luigi’s Pizza is definitely a gem of East Amherst.
