St Louis Regional Airport

OK we all know you go to a restaurant for great food at a reasonable price. The blue cheese, bacon, chicken sandwich is both! Add to that a great beer selection, a view of an active runway, and great service, this is the place. I guarantee if you like good food, great beer, and a fun place, you will love the the High Flyers Grill at the St Louis regional airport (free parking!)

Actually I had lunch at the High Flyers Grille inside of the Airport. This was a business luncheon, for the Riverbend Growth Association. The tables were nicely arranged, everyone had a good view of the speakers. It was a buffet style lunch. Salad with cheese, sweet peppers, slices of big red onions and a homemade home dressing. It reminded me of the salad from Imo’s. We had mostacolli with cheese and grilled chicken breast. A small roll was available at the end of the table. It seemed like an odd combination but it had a nice taste. I dont know what they have on the menu, as far as other food items. The place does have a bar, which boasted Natty Lights for $ 1.50 per bottle or $ 5 pitcher of draft Natty Light. I was told they stay busy with the small aircraft that flies in and out of the airport.

Gotta love small airports.
St. Louis Regional is probably the nicest one I’ve seen. Very clean and well kept. The airport staff were super friendly. The waiting area was nicely furnished with plush chairs and a couch surrounding a fireplace (over which they displayed a Cardinals baseball bat — at that point I realized St. Louis was only about 10 miles away). It looked like there was a break room and possibly a conference room off to the side. Bathrooms were spotless. They have a car rental service as well.
