Stopped for a quick bite here, despite the negative reviews, and I must admit I was quite pleased. The fries were amazing, and the bacon on the burger was the best I’ve ever had from a drive thru. It’s a little pricey, but no more than you expect from a good, quality burger joint, and the drive thru was slower, but everything is fresh and made to order, so worth it in my humble opinion. Plus, they have dog treats for your fur babies who may be accompanying you, which is always a plus!

This is the best burger in Boise! I actually tried more than just the burger because I had a huge appetite. The Burger Den Special is the one I got, and I also got a gyro just to taste they were both so good and I was very satisfied with all the food! The onion rings are so good and the fries are even better. Please do your taste buds a favor and give this place a shot!!!

Horrible customer service. It’s too bad because the food is pretty decent. I have been twice and both times my order was wrong, the service was bad and I waited way to long. There are better, faster options in old Eagle.

The humble mom and pop burger place done right. Kind of eclectic and dirty, and full of local heart. And you can taste the spirit in your greasy burger. It’s a solid burger, pretty good bang for the buck.

This place has changed in the past month. Nice new paint job but the good things stop there. None of the helpers behind the counter has a smile. The menu was simplified — but can’t a regular burger just come with the normal lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles? Is that too much to ask? And an extra charge for tomatoes? What? AND they are planning to be closed on the 4th of July!!! That has potential to be the biggest sales day of the year. What are they thinking? If you are a fan of this place and have not been here for a while, keep your memories of the old place and head somewhere else.

Don’t go here if you are in a hurry. I just spent 40 minutes waiting in the drive-thru. Wasn’t super busy. 3 cars in front of me. Took 20 minutes to get from the order board to the window. They still didn’t have the food ready when I got up there. Won’t be going back. Edit: Added 2 stars because the philly cheesesteak was very good.

It’s been awhile since we’ve been to Doug’s Burger Den. The last time was a few years ago. The place was busy and one server had her hands full running the counter, the drive thru and trying to do table service. We gave up and walked out. I was disappointed because I really enjoyed the breakfasts there. So the other day as we were finishing up shopping for Thanksgiving we decided to give them a try and have lunch. When we walked in I thought for a minute that we were in another restaurant. The walls had been painted a soft gray and the windows had a new treatment — -just a valence with tones of gray and a soft green. What a difference. No art or posters advertising food on the walls. We ordered the special of the day a burger, fries, and drink for $ 4.99. Burger and fries were really good! The burger was as we both remembered from way back when — -burgers were smaller, easier to handle and the taste was like real beef! A lot of burgers these days are mostly frozen, tasteless, and greasy. The fries were crisp and hot. Doug’s food is a bargain compared to a lot of small restaurants. They also still serve breakfast and one of these days we will go back to try breakfast again. I’ve got a craving for those blueberry pancakes that I remember!

Worst burger i have ever had. Shake was overly sweet. Fries were ok. Had to wait for ten minutes for what ended up being a huge disappointment.

Have eaten here twice. What I had was either forgettable or memorably bad. I’ve had a Gyro, a burger and their fries twice. All was average. Their shakes are cemented in my brain as a vibrantly bad example of taking soft serve ice cream and squirting it with an overdose of artificial berry flavor, and then not quite mixing it enough to make it consistent throughout. Very similar to a McDonalds frozen drink.

It’s ok, but it’s not a gourmet restaurant — it’s a «den». Food can be tasty, or not, depending on what you buy. Some staff are excellent, others don’t seem to care. Prices are ok, perhaps a little high for some menu items, but it’s worth a try for a quick lunch or dinner when you’re on the go.

Found a few sharp chicken bone shards in their chicken strips. Showed it to the woman at the counter and she told me «of course there are bones, they are chicken strips». What? I didn’t want to risk eating anymore because the bones were sharp so I threw them away, left upset, disappointed with how I was treated and hungry. Spoke with the owner about it. He was understanding and polite, said he would speak to her and offered to buy me lunch.

Had lunch here with Hubby and we weren’t too impressed. Being a Florida-raised seafood nut, I was excited to see fish on the menu. I ordered a fish sandwich and a side of shrimp. Unfortunately, my sandwich came as a side of fish. I brought leftovers of both of my items home, and the fish was extremely greasy. Hubby liked his chicken and fries OK. It all seemed like it was fresh-from-the-freezer. The soda machine is available for free refills. The large is 44 ounces, and it’s in a cup that’s very big around(compared to the Sonic cups that hold the same amount of soda but are taller and fit in a car’s drink holder). The interior of the restaurant leaves much to be desired. There are only small fixed booths, so if you have any special needs they can’t be accommodated inside the restaurant. A group of any size would need multiple tables. To be fair, I guess I’ll have to try an actual burger from Doug’s Burger Den. «Burger» is in the name after all. I will, however, be ordering it to-go.

It’ll do in a pinch. Went here instead of Carl’s to support small business. Ends up costing twice as much, takes twice as long. To top it off the people who work here could care less that you’re giving them some business. Don’t expect any smiles that you showed up. The pancakes & breakfast burrito are good. Hamburgers are good. The plus is it is right across from Heritage Park where you can enjoy it.(Oh yeah, because the inside/outside is kinda of blehh.)
