Interesting place. Small, homey. Owner/chef/waiter was a bit grumpy, with signs that he could not keep employees so he could not serve many folks at once. He warmed up, service was good, food was fine western-diner type breakfast. Good chile.(Green chile is the New Mexican specialty.) The place was apparently used to shoot some scene for the TV show Longmire.

One of the few places open in the off season. Stopped for breakfast. Old school diner charm. The owner was the waiter and cook. Was not disappointed. Will stop again. Would like to try lunch next time. Fyi… very clean restroom.

Great local café. It is what it is – one guy over the griddle with a helper. If that is not your deal don’t come — if you want a simple, reasonably priced place then come on in. Come early — they stop around 10 for breakfast.

Cowboy Corner or Cowboy’s Café is awful! Horrible coffee, or should I say very slightly coffee flavored hot water. It’s hard to ruin scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns — and really, it was passable, but greasy; and they forgot to butter the toast. My husband had biscuits and gravy and their gravy is possibly the worst gravy ever… if not the worst it’s at least in the top 5. The best thing about the place was the single bathroom, it was very nice and clean. There isn’t much choice in Eagle Nest — but I’d suggest driving on to Red River, Angel Fire, or Cimarron; depending upon which way you’re headed, and finding a decent place to eat.
