The World’s Slowest Service: I’ve eaten here a few times now. And I’m fully convinced they easily take the title. Lemme break it down. it’s takes 15mins before someone even pours a glass of water. 15mins to take your order. 30mins till your food finally arrives. In most case the order is probably wrong. So for 1 hour minimum wait as your stomach eats itself while you watch tables across and around you feast. Positive: Great first date place if you need to spend hours with your partner without the servers giving you dirty looks. The food is good. But I always struggle of its really worth the wait but like I said, been here a few times. Unilocal says I’m a Duke here.

Alcohol is mildly overpriced, but that’s pretty normal. Rooms were clean, extensive song options, and they let us bring our own cake!

This place is ridiculously over-priced! 100 for a Tyku bottle which I can get for 20 bucks at the liquor store. We reserve the place for a friends birthday and got a warning saying that if they caught us drinking in the parking lot they will call the police. Hello we were just giving the birthday girl her gift! Not worth the price and hassle. Go somewhere else.

Tell me this isn’t the only Asian karaōke place in the Twin Cities area? Wherefore the dearth of noraebang? Well if Doremi does happen to be the only option, it’s a pretty good one(if out of the way). $ 30 will get you an hour in a small(but spacious), clean room. We went on a snowy Tuesday evening during happy hour(6−9PM). Service was friendly but a bit spotty simply because our server was also splitting his time at the next-door restaurant. For the 2-for-1 appetizers, we ordered the chicken wings and the spicy chicken wings. The regular chicken wings came naked and were served with a bowl of sweet sauce — delicious paring, and the chicken skin was perfectly crispy. I wouldn’t recommend the spicy wings; they were absolutely drenched in sauce, which made the skin mushy, and the sauce wasn’t even that spicy. HH $ 2 imports meant a Stella Artois Cidre for me and an EPA for the boyfriend.

This place definitely takes me back to the hidden norebans of K-town in the good ol’ Cali. I’ve been there for what seems like a handful of times, and each time was nothing short of FANtastic. I wish the place wasn’t so far away, otherwise I’d be there everyday! Gotta love Doremi!

I went to Do Re Mi for the first time a couple of weeks ago with three other friends. The staff was incredibly friendly, and speedy with bringing us our beverages. The rooms are really clean and nice, and the karaōke selection is pretty good. If you’re not sure how to use the karaōke system, the friendly staff will give you a quick tutorial. It’s pretty easy to get the hang of it. The search function was definitely easier to use than the catalogues, in my opinion. The prices are reasonable, especially if you’re splitting the cost of the room amongst your friends. There’s a restaurant next door(that I assume is owned by the same people who own Do Re Mi) and they’ll deliver right to your room. We ended up spending five hours there, and it was an absolute blast. I would definitely go back again(and again!) and I’ve been telling all of my friends about this place.

The idea is fun — a place where you can rent a room and have tons of karaōke songs. However, they were not upfront about pricing, even though when my friend called to reserve the she asked and they didn’t mention the hourly rate — which was extremely high. The non-happy hour drinks are ok priced, but I got warm beers on occasion, which was disappointing. The rooms could be considered spacious depending on how many people were there; we had too many. It was an interesting experience, but I wouldn’t go back or recommend it. That being said, the videos that played with the songs(which weren’t the official music videos) were entertaining, and the selection was decent — though they did not have Rebecca Black’s Friday.

So cool to be the first one reviewing Do-Re-Mi on Unilocal!Do-Re-Mi Karaōke is Asian-Style Karaōke. Asian Style is karaōke in a private room. There are no strangers present. It is only you, and your invited friends and family — so you can sing your heart out with no worries of bothering strangers, and vice versa, not have to listen to stranges sing! The Karaōke facility is connected to Hoban Korean restaurant, which I have previously reviewed. Yes, I am a regular here(see my profile, «that in my next life, I want to be an idol singer», haha) They have English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and other languages – so much fun! have gone there with family, and close friends and recently went there with a group of friends from different Asian countires, and we individually sang in our own native language and then sang as a group in English. The Karaōke is open during the day, too — a plus! Rooms are rent by the hour so be sure to be timely. The more people in your party the better so you can split the cost. I understand since the Karaōke is owned by Hoban Restaurant, they offer room service too, if you want to make it a party. If you’re planning on going in the evening or weekends, make sure to make reservations. The Karaōke Hosts are very nice too, so if it’s your first time, be sure to ask how the Karaōke system works — they will be happy to show you. The rooms are clean, comfy, and there’s a mirror, in the rooms – if you want to see yourself sing or even dance as you sing, which is very important if you are a wannabe idol ;)
