Never disappoints! As we were headed towards Rochester starving from our early morning flight we saw the Dickeys sign. A quick u turn and we’re greeted with the smoking smell of bbq. The loaded potatoes and ribs were delicious. Choice if sauces warmed on the top added that extra touch of flavor. Clean, nice staff always a plus.

Stopped for lunch. Had pulled pork sandwich which was Monday special. Sandwich was good, jalapeño beans ok. Plenty of pork in sandwich so added to the beans made them better. Good value, I like to finish off with a root beer float, make my own with soft serve. One bad part is if you dine in you come out smelling like smoke, at least co-works know where you went for lunch. I’ll keep coming back.

To me, this is the best barbecue available from a chain. The ribs are the best, followed by the brisket and pulled pork. Haven’t tried the turkey yet, though it’s on the bucket list. The one thing that they need to work on here are the sides, other than the waffle-cut fries. Those are fab. The cole slaw is over dressed and has too much vinegar in it, as does the potato salad. I don’t eat baked beans, so I’ve no opinion on those. Without going through the entire list, just stick to the fries, and you’ve got a winning accompaniment to the meat.

Whenever we head home from the cities we make this our choice of dining. On Sunday’s kids eat free. soft serve ice cream for everyone after your meal. I definitely r coco end this place if you are looking for bbq /smoked meats. I like the potato casserole and Mac and cheese for side. Although all the sides are good. For meats I always go with ribs and brisket. The brisket is now my favorite. The ham and chicken are good as well.

REALLY disappointed in the«GARDEN» salad. Paid $ 6.50 for a couple handfuls of lettuce and some shreds of cheese. Where’s the GARDEN? Won’t EVER go to any Dickey’s again.

Didn’t visit a location but attended a party they catered. Brisket, turkey, biscuits, mac n cheese, and potato salad were all great. My little picky eater loved the turkey so that earns them a lot of credit in my book.

I really liked this place when they first opened coming back they didn’t have the free giant pickles out any longer. The menu prices went up by $ 2 even the daily special was pricey. Service is still quick and friendly. I wouldn’t make a effort to come out unless I was craving bbq and already in the area

Ok, here’s the deal. My hubby and myself are BBQ fanatics! We attend many contests throughout the summer months and have had the good bad and the ugly from different parts of the country. I was always delighted when we would travel down south because I always believed that was the true home of good old fashioned BBQ and the only way to find the best… no longer a true statement. My husband was in Madison, Wi when he found Dickey’s by accident. Well he called to brag up this place and I was chomping at the bit to have some. I didn’t get my chance until he brought home Ribs, Chicken and Brisket from the Eagan, MN location. Just wow! I was hooked! The smoke ring on brisket had me doing cartwheels and let’s talk tender. It was delicious! This is some of the best BBQ we’ve had near home… hands down! This ranks up just as good as some southern BBQ we’ve had. Great food, fair price and great hospitality!

Tacky décor. Why any restaurant feels the need to put silly knick-knacks all over the walls I wonder about. Personally I don’t need a giant tv when I’m out to eat, and I don’t need an attempt to make me think I’m in Texas. I had the ribs(not on the menu at the main website for some reason), baked beans and fried okra. The beans were good. The okra was run-of-the-mill breaded deep-fried and bland but okra is good. The ribs were fine but not enough smoke flavor for my tastes. The sauce is good. The staff was fine and when I mentioned the lack of smoke flavor, the guy said he’d make sure they did it better the next day. I’ll go again since I drive by it a couple of times a month but I wouldn’t make a special trip to any of their locations. No one beats Ted’s in Mpls for real BBQ. They are a destination.

I love their daily specials, so much good food! I know they a chain, but they are doing something right. Location is tough to get to, but given the opportunity I will eat here all the time! People are nice and how can you beat a free giant pick and free vanilla ice cream! VERYGOODSTUFF!!! The mac and cheese is good and the potato casserole is awesome. Love the pulled pork and the sauces!

I just wanted to note that the management did contact me about my review and made every effort to make up for the experience I had. I declined, but was so impressed I bumped my initial review up to a three star. They obviously care about their customers.

I’ve read some of the reviews that said service here was terrible and for the one time I’ve been it was great. Lunch rush and they handled the line quickly and my order was accurate. For another, any review comparing this place to Famous Dave’s is like comparing something to Olive Garden when mentioning Italian food. I’ve been to several Famous Dave’s and have never been anything close to impressed. Now for Dickey’s…like I said I’ve been here once and it was amazing. On par with any BBQ I’ve had in Texas and not at all resembling fast food or a chain restaurant. I had pulled pork which was amazing. The sides were good too. They even have sweet tea, score! The only down side I can see would be limiting my visits to keep my waist line in check. It’s that good, I could see myself coming back multiple times in a week.

First off, before I get to the food, I have to say that the one comment I saw regarding bad service is baffling to me. The service I received tonight was impeccable. The one employee, Tyler, was extremely polite and very helpful towards me and my boyfriend while we were trying to make our selection. We were originally not going to get a combo, but he showed us how it was more bang for our buck, and i’m always happy to get more for my money. Also, the manager stopped by our table and made us feel very welcome. You could definitely see his passion for barbeque as he explained the bark on the ribs, and gave us tips for our leftovers, such as «toast the rolls for about a minute then drizzle some honey on them.» But service isn’t everything. The food has to be equally good, if not better for me to warrant something with 4 stars. And this food was DELICIOUS! We got a combo with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. You get to choose 3 medium sides, and we chose the potato salad, barbeque beans, and the coleslaw. You also receive 6 heavenly rolls with this combination. The ribs were perfectly cooked, with a noticeable smoke ring on them, and a crispy delicious bark. They had minimal fat, yet still were tender and full of flavor. I preferred them with the original BBQ sauce that they offer. The brisket was some of the best i’ve ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed it with the spicy BBQ sauce. The pulled pork was good(i’ll admit, i’ve had better) and i really enjoyed it with a mixture of their sweet BBQ and spicy BBQ sauces. The barbeque beans were fantastic, with a slight peppery note to them that made them unique to most places where they are overly sweet. The coleslaw was quite good, the perfect level of creaminess if you ask me(I hate when places have runny coleslaw). And as for the potato salad, oh my lorrrrddddie the POTATO salad! It was amazing! Me and my boyfriend were both ranting and raving over it, and we just polished off the leftovers much to my disappointment. I think it was better than my grandmother’s, but don’t tell her that! As for the rolls, the manager informed me they were yeast rolls, and I thought they were to die for. Perfectly buttered and a very light texture. I can’t wait to try them toasted with honey as he recommends! Overall, I will most definitely be returning here! I was skeptical at first, but now I am so glad I finally tried this place out! I assure you you won’t be disappointed :)

Tried Dickey’s tonight for the first time since I got some coupons from work(as we do business together so someone there gave them to us as a «thank you»). The staff was pretty rude considering I blatantly told them that I had never been there before. I get it, it’s later on in the day, but if you hate your job THAT much… quit. Did not honor my coupon but the service was horrible which made it even worse. I will be spreading the word at my workplace so all of my coworkers can not only give them business but throw the«complimentary» cards in the trash. Had the pulled pork sandwiches, they were ok.

Love the pulled pork. Ribs have great a great bark. Not a huge fan of the BBQ chicken or the turkey breast. Beef Brisket is satisfactory. Spicy Cheddar Sausage is not bad but a little goes a long way. The original BBQ sauce is really pretty good. The Spicy is OK and the Sweet is too sweet for me. While the meats are reasonably portioned, the sides seem a bit paltry and I find uneven in quality. Waffle fries are excellent(but cool off in a hurry). Cole slaw is decent. Mac & Cheese is OK but not as good as it looks. Fried okra is not bad if you’re into that. The Baked Potato Casserole is nothing special. The Fried Onion Tanglers are greasy but tasty. The Dill Potato Salad is very good and would be great at a picnic. The regular Barbecue Beans are fine but the Jalapeño Beans lack bite. Skip the free pickles. I thought they had an off taste. Maybe they’d just sat unrefrigerated in the jar too long. A tip(at least at the Eagan location): An off-menu item that’s worth asking for is the Brunswick Stew. It has a savory mix of BBQ meats and beans in it and would be perfect comfort food on a sub-zero winter night.

I went here with my siblings with the $ 20 gift certificate we purchased off of . The location is a little hidden, but MapQuest or your navigation system should be able to find the place just fine. We went a little after 1 or 2 on a Wednesday and there was a good amount of people who were still there for lunch. It took us a little while to decide what we wanted on the menu, but Mark(I think that was his name) was awesome in helping us decide. He came out from behind the counter asked us if we had any questions on the menu, and offered us a sample of their new spicy cheddar smoked sausage(which was deeeeeeelicious!). Between the three of us we all got the beef brisket, mac&cheese, coleslaw, waffle friends, fried onion petals, half a slab or ribs, jalapeño baked beans, potato casserole(which I thought was just like a fancy mashed potatoes). I sampled a little of everything and if you’re like me I can’t eat any kind of meat that’s dry and most BBQ meats are(from previous restaurants that I have been to). But NOTHING about the ribs, the smoked sausage, or beef brisket was dry. My favorites were the fried onion petals, mac and cheese, baked beans, and ribs. There’s a station right by where you paid where they have a giant jar for free jumbo pickles, silverware, napkins, and three different BBQ sauces to choose from. And on your way out, there’s a table to your right where you can get free soft served ice cream in a cup, bowl, or a cone. Did I mention that it was FREE??? I gave this place a 5⁄5 because of the affordable price, the generous portions, insanely good BBQ, free food, and awesome awesome awesome customer service. The place wowed me!

My wife and I had a coupon for $ 20 worth of stuff at Dickey’s. They had just opened up in Plymouth, but ours was for Eagan, so we trekked to the southern suburb and the establishment was inside a strip mall on the way down to Rochester. We entered and the first thing on our left hand side was a free soft serve machine. I knew they had Michelle hooked. Behind the counter were a few large smoking machines and other contraptions of grandeur. They had a ton of good stuff on the menu. Bakers(Baked Potatoes), ribs, chicken, pork, etc. I ordered the $ 10 double meat plate with 2 sides and a roll. Not a bad price for some seriously awesome BBQ. Plus, they have free pickles and soft serve. And they aren’t little tiny pickles, they are the huge, dollar jar pickles you sometimes see. Scrumptious. I love those. I seriously had 4 of them. They have 3 different sauces. An original BBQ, a sweet, and my favorite, Hot and Spicy! Ohhhh… So good. Plus their pop is a large 32 oz. cup they call the big yellow cup. If you go to their website, you can get a free one sent to your email. So finally, the food. The pulled pork was mild, but sweet. I put tons of hot and spicy sauce on it and it was delectable. The brisket was moist, a little fatty, but I don’t have brisket often, so it might supposed to be like that. Now the jalapeño beans. These were amazing! Thick beans, I didn’t see any jalapenos in them, but the flavor was teetering on the line of spicy and almost too spicy, if that is possible(It’s not) I gave my wife my roll and she liked it a lot. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the potato salad. Kind of just… there. Not bad. Not good. Just calories. Overall, the food was amazing, the service was nice for a fast food place, the guy chopping the meat seemed to really like his job and he greeted every customer as they walked in the door and said good bye to about half of them when they left. The free pickles were fantastic and my wife loved the free soft serve ice cream. I think Dickey’s is going to a big hit as they enter the Twin Cities. Plus, I was full after half my meal, could have been the 4 gigantic pickles, and my wife doesn’t eat much, so I also have 2 left over full, huge meals for the next few days. Gotta love America, they ain’t doing this in Afghanistan.
