BabyLove is amazing! I have had the opportunity to observe their Lamaze childbirth class, and it is fabulous. Veronica is warm and welcoming. She is also incredibly knowledgeable – she’s up to date on the latest evidenced-based studies surrounding childbirth, and you can tell she is passionate about what she does. Veronica also did carseat checks on our two cars. Again, I was impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. She found several adjustments we need to make to our carseat installations, and taught us how to use the LATCH systems in our cars. Well worth the cost, and I would not hesitate to do it again or to recommend that EVERYONE have this service done!

I LOVE BabyLove! Brittany and Veronica are so warm and welcoming. The location is a little hard to find — in an office building. But once you get inside you forget it’s an office building. It’s decorated cute and very comfortable. The two ladies really seemed to do their research and know the ropes as far as babies are concerned. I recommend them to everybody I know who’s having a child or needs one of their many classes offered. PS Their Dancing for Birth class is SUPER fun! You get to shake your hips to music. :)

My husband and I were expecting our first child in April and I was very eager to learn about breast feeding. We took the class, which was very well organized and took home all of the information. The class was very informative, but the instructors kept saying, you should be able to breastfeed, do not give your child a bottle(for nipple confusion) and do not supplement, that the colostrum should be enough. So I went home thinking, ok I can do this. Fast forward to April when my son was born. What should have been the greatest time in my life turned into a nightmare that spiraled into horrible post partum depression to where I didn’t even want to be around my beautiful baby boy. I was in the hospital and feedings I thought were going ok. I met with a lactation consultant and I was told, just like in the class, my milk should be coming in any day. I went home and thought my son was getting enough to eat, because that’s what they said in the class. The first week home was the week from hell. Turns out my son was not getting enough(he dropped almost a whole pound in 2 days!) and I spent hours and hours working with lactation consultants, nipple shields and all sorts of pumps. We finally had to use supplementation because my son had lost too much weight and did nothing but scream because he was so hungry. My milk never really came in after trying litterly everything the class said to do. I felt like the biggest failure as a mother because I had caused my child so much pain in the first days of life. I was told colostrum should be enough and to not give him a bottle. My mother finally said it’s time to supplement with a bottle. The extreme feeling of failure came in because I was told in the class that breast feeding is the best way to bond with your child. I went into such a deep depression that I am still on anti depressants and felt like an inadequent mother. I now realize that I do have an amazing bond with my son and I did what I had to do for him to survive. I believe the class needs to be more sensitive to the fact that sometimes things don’t always work out the way it should and to say ‘yes it’s ok to give a bottle and supplementation if something is wrong and that IT’S OK! ANDTHATYOUWILLNOTLOSEYOURBONDWITHYOURCHILD. I am all for breastfeeding but when it did not work out, there needs to be encouragment that it’s ok. I would not recommend this class unless you’ve had a child and have breastfed before. Too much negativity towards alternitives to breastfeeding!
