Basics of food and snacks, also $ 1 DVDs and some other items. A place like this would be three stars anywhere else, but they were open in this cute little historic town on a Sunday morning, just what I needed to refuel in the middle of a long-distance bike ride.

Been living here in the area about 6 months now and I thought I’d be OK traveling to get groceries but although a little high on price(just Cuz they have to ship or travel to get goods for the store), I’ve been shopping there a lot lately. And they have $ 1 movie rentals which my daughter and I love.

Cool little general store with basics that you’d need, the guy that works there is really cool, and they have all kinds of stuff like VCR movies for $ 1! It’s got drinks, food, inflatable water toys. a little bit of everything!

Best kept secret on interstate 80 when traveling to Lake Tahoe: The Dutch Flat Trading Post! Not only is the town worth seeing with its historic goid rush era hotel, community center, and church but the trading post keeper(Abe) is the nicest shop keeper in the west! Love this store! Great place to get fresh produce, beer, candy, and other provisions for your trip in the mountains. BTW: don’t blink while passing through Dutch Flat, downtown is a hotel, trading post(store), post office, antique store, and two museums.

A couple weeks back my wife and I met«Abe» the local store keeper at the Dutch Flat Trading Post in Dutch Flat, CA. What a wonderful man! He is latest of a long line of store keepers who has kept this gem operating continuously since the Gold Rush days. There is also a vintage Post Office next door that makes you feel like you stepped back in time. This town is definitely worth taking a few minutes off the Interstate to check out!
