Tour de Brew was an amazingly fun way to support Water for Good and ride your bikes to several of Raleigh’s breweries at the same time. The proceeds of the bike tour go to Water for Good, a non-profit that installs well water pumps in remote African communities to provide water for those in need. What better than a bike brew tour in Raleigh for a good cause?! There were tiered levels of support– $ 20 got you a bracelet &1 free beer ticket, $ 50 got you a bracelet + beer stein + 3 beer tickets, and $ 150 got a hat + beer stein + 3 beer tickets. MudLove provided the awesome handmade beer steins. There were 4 different routes(two 18-milers, one 6.8-miler, and one 1.6-miler), and all started at Crank Arm and ended at the Natty Greene after-party. A *huge* thanks to Unilocal for supporting this awesome initiative! Sara, Cassie, and I formed the Unilocal team as we rode the 6-mile route from Crank Arm — Raleigh Brewing — Trophy — Natty Greene’s. There were ~100 people on our route, and the volunteers did a fantastic job of leading the way & stopping traffic for us bikers to cross main roads. In summary, this was a fantastic way to support local craft brewers, Water for Good, and MudLove. I’m a huge fan & plan to do it again next year!
