Orlando’s Nail Spa

Very nice guy. However, I was not impressed by the work.
He didn’t fully clean my nails without me specifically asking. He didn’t get all of the cuticle off and didn’t paint my whole finger nail, only the middle, not the edges. To top it off a week later I got one of the worst ingrown fingernails I’d ever had. Big red flag that soon after getting a manicure. If you’re also a fan of a good massage during your mani/​pedi while they put lotion on, he barely rubbed, no pressure at all. All of this can be yours for $ 65 (including tip). Sigh.

How many pedicures have you experienced with the removal of your calluses using either a cheese grater or some other type of hardware that actually hurt your feet? Unfortunately, I can say yes to this and sadly, I thought all places did that until I met Orlando. What a wonderful man. As others have stated, this is inside a Hair Salon. Please do not let this bother you. He has a private room that is decorated beautifully, incredible comfortable high end pedicure station and nail station along with the highest top of the line polishes. Not only will you receive a quality pedicure, but he will TREAT your calluses and remove them gently with the proper products… NO GRATERS HERE… Ladies, this guy is awesome… You can book your appointment online… No more… Come in 10 minutes, or come now, to sit in a chair as they hurry to get to you. This is QUALITY ladies… Your missing out if you don’t give him a try.

Orlando is a sweetheart. I love coming to see him. He is passionate about healthy nail care. He will educate you on how to take care of your nails and how to extend the gels so you can get almost 3 weeks. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, and I say this as a past salon owner and manicurist-​I am very particular!

Even though the nail spa is a bit hard to find (inside a hair salon), the service is surprisingly good. I was actually afraid of having pedicure or manicure in Durham because people were so harsh when they filed my nails. My toe skin split once after being filed from a pedicure from a highly reviewed nail spa near Erwin square.
Orlando is on the contrary very very tender towards my feet and nails. He seems to really truly see his job as an art and his customer’s hands and feets as precious things. The nail products are unique too. My toe nail color did not chip a bit after a full week. The color is still rich and strong. I wish I found this place earlier.
I would definitely recommend Orlando for anyone who wants their hands and feet to be treated tenderly.

How about 10 stars? I am a senior who has occasional pedis and regular nail clips. I have been going to Orlando’s for a number of years and I adore him. A visit to the spa is the highlight of that day. Orlando knows some of my family as my son is a former stylist at Stage One, so we talk about what they’re doing and about TV shows we both watch.
He is definitely a people person with a sweet, gentle demeanor who makes you feel special, and his salon space is a reflection of his artistic talent where one really feels pampered.

Great experience! I was looking for a spa that did a «true» shellac nail mani and I found it here. He doesn’t soak your nails in acetone, (which I HATED having doe to my hands!), He doesn’t just lay on some cotton and cover it with aluminum foil… he uses the actual prescribed CND method. I had a wonderful experience. It was quiet, private, and my nails look great. The perfect «me» time.
Btw…no problems getting an appointment. I called, left a message and was called right back to schedule!

I still like Orlando’s Nail Spa, but have to come find it’s not as perfect as I’d hoped. My main complaint has to do with scheduling. Recently, a week before being in a wedding, I emailed and called requesting an appointment, but received no reply. I tried following up, and eventually received an email from Orlando saying my voice mailbox was full. They must have been dialing the wrong number; because my voicemail wasn’t full, nor had I missed any calls. When I did finally get hold of him, his availability unfortunately didn’t reflect the schedule displayed on his Gmail calendar. So even though it looked like he had the next several days open, he was fully booked.
Orlando’s spa absolutely excels in terms of product. I love the vegan polishes, and especially the huge selection of Shellac. Every color you could dream of! Literally 100+ Shellac options, which is amazing, and definitely something I’ll return for. I liked my manicure. But after a few repeat pedicures here, I thought the shape of my nails and cuticles weren’t being tended to that closely. The polish always looked great though.
Orlando, himself, is wonderful. Very sweet guy who is really easy to talk to, and has a gentle touch. And he’s done a great job with his private space, making it a comfortable place to get pampered. I’m always offered a beverage, given the perfect water temp in the foot bath, and feel at ease.

Orlando is great. The nail spa is private, so it gives you a personal touch. he’s personable and takes the time to get to know his clients. He is very knowledgeable about nail care and art, and is thorough. I definitely recommend him, if only this shop was in Raleigh! I would visit more often, but nonetheless, I will probably return occasionally.

Orlando was really nice and did a great paint job on my toes and nails. I don’t always go get pedis on a regular basis so I was happy when my french manicure last for a month. He even gave me advice on what to buy to keep the dead skin off of the bottom of my feet and that is working wonders. I will definitely use him when I’m in the downtown area again.
