I heard a lot of hype about Only Burger and was excited to try it after the Bulls game last night. They offer a simple menu and the staff was super friendly. I ordered a regular burger with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, pickles and mustard. Though the burger was good, I can’t say it lived up to the hype. I prefer Bull City Burger or even Five Guys to Only Burger.

Mediocre burger, over priced. Staff is rude. Don’t ask for ranch or any other sauce because they will charge you $ 1

Well I tried for a third time and no. Just no. Tasteless burger. Bun was microwaved and thus gummy. The first time I went to this place it was incredible, second time was mediocre, this time was just plain awful, I’d rather have a Big Mac tbh. What a shame.

I read about them when they were only a food truck. Wanted to try. But never got the opportunity. Then walked by many times after they got their American Tobacco location, but for some reason had never stopped. Well Tuesday night, not having much time before a DPAC show we decided to finally give it a whirl and both of us were quite impressed with the quality of our burger and fries experience! Note this is called Only Burger for a reason. They have burgers. Only burgers. Not hotdogs. Not any other sandwich. Burgers. But what a nice variety of burgers to choose from! Beef, Turkey, Lamb, Fried Green Tomato & Pimento Cheese. Awesome toppings to choose from. We each took the easy route and chose one of their specialty burgers. The Philly for me with onions, peppers, Provolone and Sriracha mayo. Husband had the Mushroom Melt with onions, bacon, swiss and Chipotle Buttermilk Ranch. We also shared a large fries. Walk in, order, give them your name, then wait to be called. We chose to sit at the counter and watch them in action. Very impressive! Even more so after we sunk our teeth into those burgers and fries. Quality ingredients, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Ketchup, cackalacky sauce and Texas Pete available for dipping. YUM! Prices reasonable as well, especially for the quality. Our two single patty burgers(generous in size and toppings) plus the large fries and two fountain drinks was $ 22 before tip. They have a sign up saying they hand grind their meat each day. Impressive! Homemade shakes, bottled beer, and specialty bottled soft drinks also available. As if all that isn’t cool enough… sanitation grade…100%!

We were originally going to a sandwich shop nearby and notice this place. Upon entering we were excited to see the varieties of burgers we could order. The cashier was very nice and made a couple of suggestions. I ordered a double burger and I ordered my son a single burger. And this all came up to about $ 20 and some change, pretty expensive for two burgers fries and fountain drinks When we picked up my order, the person bagging the food was very rude. I ask for ketchup: his response, «are you eating here or you taking it to go?» Told him that it was too down, he handed me 4 packs of ketchup. I asked for extra ketchup, and he gave me two more packages. There were no napkins in the bag, so I asked if I could have napkins or where I could get them from. He handed me to napkins! I ask for a couple extra napkins, he gave me two more. And then proceeded to say is there anything else you need??? I definitely feel like I was bothering him by asking for extra ketchup and napkins. When I got to the car and tasted the fries there was way too much pepper on the fries. And the burger had all types of grease running from it and the cheese was way too much! I will not be back at this place!

I asked the lady at the register what burger they were famous for, her reply«The Carolina«. Not sure if that was true or not but it was real good. Chili, onions, cheese and very messy. Worth every bite. Good thing all my activities today include walking.

The staff was really friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean, comfortable and cool looking. The food was just average or maybe even a little under average. Let me explain. The quality of the ingredients was fine and I can see how some might enjoy the food but my wife and I found our burgers to be wet(from the wet lettuce and tomatoes), medium well had a chare to one side, and the burgers were not really seasoned(bland), the fries were seasoned fine but the were cooked to the point where they were close to being potato chips. We did like the onion rings. This burger spot my be your thing but it wasn’t ours check it out for yourself.

standard burger fare but thats meant to be intended as a good thing. the ‘Texan’ promised to the most meaty-ness so thats what i went for, wife got a plain burger lettuce, tomato, etc, and we ordered chili cheese fries. Beef was good, strange shape, very flat but thats an observation not a critique. toppings were good and spicy and i even liked the chipotle mayo when im not even a fan of mayonnaise. Brisket on the texan was also good. Chili on the cheese fries tasted pretty standard but ill probably get regular fries next time i go, which definitely will be the next time im craving a burger.

Only Burger is a great place for local fast food with a healthy twist. They have a great selection of sodas and beers as well. They have cheap eats with great flavor. Casual atmosphere great for kids also great for to go orders.

Simple review — terrible hamburger, ordered with two patties, burger presented in aluminum foil, upon opening, a large amount of watery fluid soaking the bun completely. Usually a frozen then thawed meat will have this watery issue, but worker I asked stated meat was ground fresh every day. The sandwich was a soaked mess without a quality meat taste in fact, only the condiments ordered with the burger had taste. Don’t waste your money, eat somewhere else. Fries were good, a bit over fried due to skinny cut of fries, but passable. Talk about a waste of money.

This place was surprisingly tasty and very conveniently located near the DPAC. I had the bacon cheeseburger with perfect caramelized onions spicy mustard relish and tomato mmm. The fries were a bit saltier than I like however the whole meal including a Boylan lemonade was around 10 $ so that can’t be beat and fresh a nice addition to the tobacco campus.

Wow. Really? I dunno. The burger pattie was, well tasteless. Kinda like tofu? The onion rings? Sorta the same… what can you do with a bun? I dunno but I ditched it. Sorry, underwhelmed.

A group of us went here for dinner on a Tuesday night before a show at DPAC. I was really excited to try it since I have heard so many good things regarding their food truck. It can get really crowded so be sure to grab a table while you can. I got a standard only burger with bacon, tomato, lettuce and cheese, fries, and a chocolate shake. I got my burger the first time and it literally had everything on it I said no to(ketchup, mustard, onions, and pickles). I took it back and they fixed it fairly quickly, but understandably I was a little disappointed. The burger was good, but nothing spectacular(just a normal burger if you ask me). Although the only burger is like 5 dollars, the price adds up once you get fries(a must with any burger) and cheese and any other upgrades. By the end of the meal it was about 12 dollars a person(no alcohol was purchased) which I thought was a tad on the pricey end for what it was. The chocolate shake was good(once again it just tasted like a normal chocolate shake, nothing out of the ordinary) but it was a little too thin for my taste. I think we will be back before another DPAC show, but other than tat I don’t think we would go out of our way to eat here again.

Best burgers in Durham, in my experience. Grab yourself a cold beer, make sure to get the fries. Very unpretentious. This is just about the burgers. The staff has been pretty friendly. Even the guys working hard in the back seem to always throw a smile if they catch your eye, maybe recognize you if you’ve been there a few times. Oh, those burgers, though… I want one now! I’d probably give them five stars if the burger menu expanded a bit more. I love some of their specialty burgers, but there needs to be more of them.

Went here with a friend for take out when the place was about to close. Despite that, the staff could not have been friendlier and more welcoming, going so far as to give us free samples while we waited. They were embarrassingly kind: warm fuzzies all around. Got the lamb sliders which were amazeballs. Try them even if you don’t normally eat lamb. This place also merits some stars for its adorable 3D mini truck that serves as its outdoor sign(look up!) and the truck slice on the wall inside above their menu board. Super creative décor. A+.

I’m so glad that Only Burger opened up a restaurant at American Tobacco Campus. No more long lines at the food truck. Woot woot! The staff is always friendly and the burgers are super good. I used to get the Only Burger and load up on the toppings. However that never left any room for their string fries or other yummy southern fried goodness like pickle chips or fried green tomatoes. So now, I get a slider and their sampler of sides which includes fried green tomatoes, onion rings and pickle chips. Yum! You know what would make this the perfect meal? A chocolate milkshake. They have a sign that says milkshakes and floats are coming soon. I can’t wait! Although this kind of meal isn’t for the every day, but it’s a great indulgent treat for when you kicked ass at the office after a very long week, or after completing a paper you struggled writing, or any small win. You have to celebrate the wins any chance you get, and that maybe a juicy messy delicious burger.

This new location is super convenient for me! There is a giant half food truck hanging on the wall. Same good food and friendly service. Got the frito bandito this time. It’s probably better eaten at the location for crunchyness but it was still delicious. I wish the«SPECIALS» sign was a bit more prominent. It’s just a piece of paper attached by magnet near the cashier. Otherwise, love only burger! In my opinion, best burger in Durham!
