Not the best, but it does the job and it’s cheap and conveniently located for my needs. The service is hurried, even when I’m the only customer. The biggest complaint I have is that when I asked if they have brown rice, I first got a blank look, then a dubious«yes.» Clearly, this request was LOSTINTRANSLATION. I did not want white rice that had been«browned» with grease and soy sauce into veggie-less fried rice. Excuse me, what??! When I said«brown rice,» I meant rice that is unhulled, i.e., on the complete opposite end of the health spectrum. Ouf. I wish there were a better non-buffet Chinese place to go to in the area, but I always draw a blank – any recs?

Service sucks! Food is decent, but not better than any other Chinese place in the area. Guy was ridiculously rude over he phone ordering and then also when I got in the restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Regular low-end chinese comfort food, geared for takeout rather than eating in. Veggies better than elsewhere — seems freshly cut rather than previously frozen. The better than usual food is undone with the rather apathetic service, even more so than other low-end chinese restaurants. The lack of non-sweet drink options(the sweet tea was from powder) and napkins was rather annoying.

Sketchiest Chinese restaurant I’ve been in. There’s usually only one person working the store, who works as the cashier, cook, etc. Food is very greasy and flavorless here. Prices are cheap, but quality is largely sacrificed. Peony Asian Bistro is just across the street and is far superior. China Wok in Timberlyne is also not too far away and is much better overall.

This is a great Chinese restaurant for take-out, even dine-in for a quick bite. They are normally very busy with take out orders/phone calls, but there is never a line to wait. The atmosphere is decent and the restaurant is fairly clean. There are about 4 small tables for seating and there is a restroom as well. I ordered the lunch Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce with the Pork Fried Rice. The order took about 8 minutes to come out, which I found to be pretty quick. The take out box was packed to the tippy top, so they are definitely not stingy with their lunch portions! The Lobster Sauce flavor was great, not too salty, and the shrimp was very large and tasty! I loved the Pork Fried Rice! Since I eat the rice as just a side dish, I normally don’t worry about an abundance of flavor, as I am counting on the main dish to provide that. However, this rice is very flavorful. Although this location is far from me, I still make it my business to visit as much as I can.

Went in yesterday for some General Tso’s and was not disappointed. Pretty much what you’d expect with that tangy sauce and a reasonable price. Clean place, kinda reminds me of the inside of someone’s house. It looks like a family run business and besides not knowing much English the people seem friendly. Even though the food is your generic Chinese takeout General Tso’s it’s still yummy!

Given the standard of takeout Chinese food this is better than most. I’ve gone mostly toward items that are stir fried and spicy and if you ask for VERY spicy there is actually some spice(huge for NC). Fresh veggies and good quality chicken. Sauce isn’t that goopy drenching sauce you can get elsewhere. In fact I used the extra sauce in a dish I made later to make the veggies more tasty.

Decided to give this place a try. I’m a huge fan of Chinese boneless ribs. So I or the lunch special with steamed rice. I wouldn’t recommend it and won’t be ping back, at least for that. Rib meat was sub par, very fatty and very discolored which is always proved to be a huge market of what the taste will be. And it was. Half was inedible(fatty and/or tasted off). Flavor of the sauce was good though there was barely any on the meat(I like to flavor the rice w it). So thumbs down. Skip the ribs on your visit.

Yuck. I don’t even have high standards for cheap Chinese and this place is terrible. Out of steamed rice? What? Didn’t even finish the hot and sour soup. Steer clear.

This is your normal cheap Chinese place. We ordered here a few times when we first moved to the area, but the sanitation score got really low so we stopped. The food was never great. Some things didn’t taste the same as most Chinese places, and the meat was kind of weird in the few dishes we tried. DON’T order the beef. I’m not sure if it even is beef. It looks and tastes like rubbery tentacles. We made the mistake twice, and were disgusted both times. The sanitation score is low, and for me that is an instant deal breaker. If you like hole-in-the-wall cheap Chinese food this is your place, but if you are looking for a good meal go elsewhere.

Sounds like people are trying to justify the quality of the food by saying that it’s just a cheap take out place. Even with that in mind, this place is not very good at all. We ordered standard Chinese take out food, and it was not tasty. Maybe other peoples’ palates are different, but even for the price which wasn’t THAT amazing it was still not up to par. Honestly, if you’re coming here for chinese food, just go a little up the road to Li Ming’s and get your meal there.

I stopped by here and ordered General Tso and it was at best average. Only 5 tables inside restaurant. The fried rice was good. The General, rice, plus egg roll for $ 5.35. a very low price, but it is still the usual standard Americanized Chinese bland food. Nothing special here. I think the health inspection grade says enough for me, 91.5! Food C Staff C Décor D Location C Health Inspection Grade 91.5

Your standard take away Chinese place. The food is ok but not great, on the plus side its cheap. We got two main courses, two soups with an appetizer and the total was still below $ 20.00. This isn’t a location I would go out of my way for but at the same time if i was in the mood for Chinese food and was driving by I would stop in.

Not sure I know what the other«good» reviews were talking about but the food here is rather dismal. I had the chicken fried rice. It was tasteless and boring. Hubby had the fried bean curd with veggies. The veggies were nice but the bean curd was soggy. The décor of the restaurant looked like it had come from some granny’s yardsale. I’m not sure a painting of a snow-covered bridge in Vermont is quite what I would have expected for wall hangings. I mean, I know it’s take-out, but come on. We will not be back. I’m giving it 2 stars because the staff is friendly.

Im glad I listened to all the other reviews-gave this place a try for lunch today and it was AWESOME. Try the shrimp toast! They also give you a ton of food for under 6 bucks during lunch… that’s crazy.

Good Chinese takeout! If comparing it to your standard Chinese American take out fare, this is one of the better places in the area. I got my standard kung pao chicken and it was good enough to add it to my list of ethnic takeout places in Durham.

So I am reviewing this place for what it is, takeout Chinese. This place just recently opened and my boyfriend and I love some good takeout and it is close to where we live. The restaurant itself is rather plain. There are just a couple of tables. So it definitely looks like a place for takeout rather than dine-in, though it is available. We got Crab Rangoon to share. I got the House Lo Mein and he got the Chicken with Hunan Sauce. The Lo Mein was decent. It was just a little salty for me, but overall it was good. I really enjoyed the Crab Rangoon and we got a lot for the amount in which we paid. My boyfriend loved the chicken and barely let me have any! This place is decently priced and offers pretty good food. I’d definitely make this my go to takeout restaurant.
