The portion size for the price was awesome. You definitely get your money’s worth. I ate jerk chicken I mix the yellow rice and the white rice with black beans. Plantains where my side along with the huge bun. The chicken was perfect so tasty I didn’t even take any home for leftovers. The rice was good well-seasoned. I dislike the plantains and they were slightly cold and extremely soggy with greasy. Also the plantations did not have any caramelization or sweetness to them. My favorite part of the dish was the bun. The bun was huge buttery, soft, warm, slightly sweet, and moist. I don’t really care for bread but I will go back just for the bun. Overall the food was excellent along with their customer service.

Good food and hearty portions. The Veggie Plate is my favorite, especially the sauteed cabbage and fried plantains.

Very good jerk chicken, yellow rice, and cabbage. 6 of us genuinely enjoyed our lunch. Friendly and fast cafeteria style service. Not too spicy for me just the right amount of heat. If you want it really spicy they have a container of homemade jerk sauce on the counter you can help yourself. Building is older and clean.

As I was leaving Southpoint Mall, I had the craving for Ethnic Food. A Taste of the Carribean. JAMAICAN. So based on reviews decided on Jamiaca Jamaica. Not in the best setting, however I did appreciate the outside tiki looking tables. Not much of a view but I have quite the imagination and I was looking for the food to transport me to the islands anyways by way for my tastebuds. Well the food was too spicy for me that I had no tastebuds left after the first couple of bites to even give a critique. I did appreciate being able to try the oxtail stew before deciding what to orde. I chose the brown stew chicken as that seems to be popular amongst past reviews. I got it with rice and peas, plaintains, cabbage. It was prepared well. as in cooked perfectly, had nice flavor but again this particular batch was too hot for me. Happy to have a choice of Ting or Ginger beer among other drink choices to wash it down with.

I love this place. The food is great and they always give very filling portions. This place may go unnoticed due to its location but it’s definitely worth a visit.

Jamaica, Jamaicaaaaaa. Jamaica, Jamaica! I bookmarked this place a long time ago and just now got around to trying it. I’m so glad I did, despite some bad reviews. Yes the place looks a little run down and grimey. However, I’ve definitely eaten at more sketchy places in other countries… or even China town in NYC haha. Don’t let it put you off; the food is yummy. I see that a lot of reviewers ordered the yellow rice, but go w/the rice and peas! The rice was seasoned well and oh so fluffy. My husband kept raving about it. I ordered the brown stew chicken, which was falling off the bone. The combination of the stew gravy with the rice and peas was so good, I’m sure I was visibly shoveling it down. LOL But there is no way I could’ve eaten it all, because the portion sizes are huge! I’m excited to have found a Jamaican restaurant in the area that I actually like, and I’m just as eager to return and try some new dishes. Although, IDK if I’ll be able to pass up on the brown stew chicken, ever!

The space doesn’t seem to be the cleanliest, but don’t let that distract you… the food is still good. The coco bread and patties hit the spot.

Came here for lunch. Ate jerk chicken, cabbage and yellow rice. it was pretty good. The inside is not pretty, but i like the hole in the wall type place. Food seemed authentic. Not gonna not. Major Key Alert: Be sure to get a Ting out of the fridge for your drink. It is delicious and will give you street cred with the Jamaican people. I havent been to any other jamaican places around here YET. I will update this review if I need to, seeing that im a complete noob when it comes to jerk chicken.

If you are looking for Jamaican food. This is not the place. I came here and got Jerk Chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. First, the jerk chicken is not authentic! The peas in the rice were dry. The cabbage was also not good. As a person who is use to real Jamaican food, this food was not good, but to a person who never had Jamaica food, maybe a hit or miss. Also the restaurant is not ran by Jamaicans.

I thoroughly enjoy this place. The food is yummy, and served in large portions. I make no claims to how authentic it is or not, the coco bread I had when I visited Jamaica was definitely sweeter, but it is still worth every dollar spent. BIG note though, it’s CLOSEDONSUNDAYS. Which is not a problem, except when you’re really craving it, and all online searches say it’s open, so you drive there…

This was my second time here and I was still disappointed. Curry already has salt and they added more salt and the meat was way too salty. The plantains were good

Great food, great prices and the best meat pies in this area — that’s for sure! My girlfriend loves their oxtails and the jerk chicken is awesome! Plantains were good. The cabbage was good. The rice was good. Every time we go, it’s just good food and a lot of it for a good price.

This place does exactly what it’s going for: make tasty, affordable Carribean-inspired dishes. I’ve only been to the Carribean a handful of times so I can’t comment on Jamaica Jamaica’s authenticity but the food here is good in my book. You get a lot of food for under $ 9 with tax. I’ve primarily ordered the jerk chicken in the past with rice and a side of plaintains. Just went again today and tried the brown stew chicken which will now become my go-to dish here.

This place is absolutely disgusting. The establishment itself is visibly dirty. The food was bland and poorly cooked. I had what appeared to be undercooked rice. And«jerk chicken» with no jerk flavor. Just because it’s the south doesn’t mean people don’t know authentic Carribbean cuisine. I am from the carribbean islands myself and this food was a true disappointment even the sorrel was gross lack of ginger and just tasted like water and syrup. The service was poor as well. The young man at the counter kept overlooking is and seemed to be snarly. My husband and I vowed never to return here again!!!

This food will defiantly have you wanting to come back for more even after you left 20 minutes ago! The jerk chicken is to die for and the sauce is very authentic. Forgot to mention the braised carrots and cabbage Yum Yum! Oh and let me tell you about the plantins, they were very sweet and moist cooked to perfection you must go and grab some!

It was good, not great but good. Like the other reviews mention, kind of like cafeteria style. Was still good. The plantain are too die for, the jerk chicken was real good and moist. The yellow rice was A-OK

DISAPPOINTED! This place is dirty and the food is out in the open with no covers and there were flies on the chicken… No bueno :( I love Jamaican food and even tho I am around the corner from Jamaica Jamaica I still prefer to drive across town to get some real good Caribbean food from Golden Crust.

Best jerk chicken ever! Ask for extra«gravy»!! Spicy but yummy! It would be nice if a boneless option for jerk chicken were always available or better yet, jerk tofu!

Ja makin’ me hongry, mon. Or at least that’s what I hoped for upon entering Jamaica Jamaica. Seedy strip mall, check! Dingy dining room, check! The food’s gotta be good then, right? Well just say looks can be deceiving but not a cap-i-tal offense. Walk past the steam trays, past the rice, stewed chicken and veggies to check out what’s on offer. But it’s not a buffet at Jamaica Jamaica, you get up, stand up, order on your right. I went with the chicken in brown gravy(on yellow rice), side of cabbage and some jerk chicken wings on the side to share with my friend. A refrigerated case behind you holds some nice Caribbean sodas. Service is not spritely, but portion-size is SUB-stantial, she was jammin’, jammin’ a lot onto our plates. In the shared dining room(with taqueria next door) we dug in. The chicken in gravy was tender but the sauce wasn’t very tasty and sorta gummy in consistence. The cabbage was decent but a bit bland. Best deal in the meal was the jerk chicken but again, not much spiciness. I admit I’m not a Jamaican food expert but I was expecting spicy, mon! Where was the flavor? All I can say while I liked the wings and ginger beer I ordered up, the rest was mostly about quantity. Sigh, no flavor, no cry. And I was hoping to get my taste-buds shocked at Jamaica Jamaica. I’d go with 2.5 stars for this place but will have to knock it back based upon expectations and other reviews. Yeah, my fire for Caribbean food hasn’t been lit yet but I still have hope that everything’s, gonna be alright…
