Went here for lunch recently, and had a decent salad. I did the biuld-your-own salad with 4 toppings, and was generally happy with it. I like to make salads with lots of extras, so the ratio of lettuce to other stuff wasn’t perfect, but it was not bad. The lettuce mix was not wilted and gross, and the avocados and goat cheese were excellent. I would recommend against the dried cherries– they had a strange flavor. It’s nice to have the option for a salad in amongst the fast food.

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch today. I ordered the lunch combo with half a fiesta salad wrap with soup and a drink. They were all out of tortillas, so I got half a fiesta salad instead. The salad was supposed to have«grilled shrimp» on it, and I assumed that they would take shrimp, grill them, and put them on the salad. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The shrimp were tiny, about half an inch long on average, and chilled, not grilled. The rest of the ingredients in the salad weren’t bad, and the arugula was above average, but the sun-dried tomato vinaigrette was way too sweet for my taste. The tomato basil soup was pretty good, with little chunks of tomato floating in it, and the bread that came with it was above average. The service wasn’t great. Both employees seemed like recent hires, and neither one seemed to know what was going on. The lady who made my salad messed up my order and gave me a full salad rather than a half salad and soup, and I had to wait extra to get the soup, and then come back again when I realized they hadn’t given me a cup for my drink. Overall, I felt disappointed with the meal. In the future, I’d much rather go down the street to Nosh.

I’ve been to this location quite a few times and was pleasantly surprised by how good their salads actually were. When I moved to the area, I noticed how hard it was to find anything remotely healthy to eat around here that wasn’t in a sit-down restaurant setting. Green Tango is perfect if you’re on the go. You can sit there and eat your salad if you’d like, but if you’d rather take it to-go, they’ll chop up your salad for you, toss in your favorite dressing and put it in a plastic container for you. They’re definitely not skimpy with their ingredients and I always end up with enough salad for two meals. You can choose a salad from their menu or make-up your own where you can choose your lettuce, 4 ingredients and choice of dressing for just $ 6.29, which isn’t bad. They also serve wraps and soups there as well. My favorite is their nicoise salad that comes with grilled tuna, artichoke, herb roasted potatoes and a lot of other yummy goodness. I’m especially in love with their red wine vinaigrette and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. The only downfall to this place is that it’s right next to Duke Hospital, so when lunch time or dinner time rolls around, expect a sea of blue and green scrubs walking there along with a swarm of cars fighting for parking spots in the parking lot. So try to get here before Noon or after 7PM.
