I’ve come here a couple times now and wanted to give a couple chances before I reviewed them. The first time I was in here I was looking at furniture and had questions regarding their delivery option. The gentleman behind the counter looked like he was on the phone helping a customer so I was patient. After 5 – 10 min I noticed he was still on the phone, so I did a pass by thinking he would say that he’ll be right with me, but no acknowledgement at all. As I did my final pass by his counter I overheard his conversation and I’m more than sure he wasn’t talking to a customer, seeing how personal he was talking to the person on the other line with the company phone. I grabbed a couple other items, and checked out. The second time I came here was for a couple items, but they didn’t have what I was looking for. The third time I came here was today. I grabbed a couple shower curtain hangers. When I got to the front there was no one there. I stood and waited, then saw a lady approaching the counter. She ignored me when she walked up, no «I’m sorry, I’ll be right with you.» or «one moment please.» She went behind the counter and put a new receipt tape into the cash register, still no signs of her even noticing me. She took her sweet time, scanned my items and told me my total. This lady was just gone, not once did she say anything about my rewards card, say«hello», and I bet if I didn’t say«Thank you» at the end she wouldn’t have said anything besides the total. I’ll start going somewhere else now, I’ve learned my lesson.

I came to this Big Lots because I was getting gas nearby and needed a hammer. Just like any other big lots, the store has a variety of things inside. I wasn’t offered any help and was a bit upset at the fact that they sold garden tools individually but didn’t have any hammers by themselves. The only hammer I saw(after looking for about 15mins), was one for $ 10, that came with a 50+ piece tool set. I didn’t need all the extra stuff, so I ended up leaving the hammer in the store. The parking lot is horrid. Spaces outside the store are shaped oddly and don’t seem to be long enough. I probably won’t return to this location, because I’m never in this area anyway. But gas is cheapest(in Durham) in this area, which is a plus.
