Banes Ann C DDS

I went to Dr. Banes for a routine cleaning and check up. I previously have had one cavity. I was told I had over $ 1600 in fillings. I was surprised by this and knew I couldn’t spend $ 1600 on fillings.
I held off on getting them filled and called a good family friend who is a dentist from my home state to ask for advice on how I could prioritize the fillings in an affordable way. The next time I was in town he did an exam and found small filling. His partner also took a look with no previous information on my situation and found the same. They explained that there is a new trend in dentistry to fill every tiny knick and flaw which actually provides no long term prevention or improvement and can be done in the unregulated profession unlike in the medical office.
I have since heard of others having similar experiences when going to Dr. Banes for the first time after moving to town. I’m guessing that the university town setting helps with this kind of practice taking place under the radar.

Dr. Banes is fantastic! She has gentle hands and a very nice demeanor. Her 9^th Street Office is has great natural daylight streaming into the exam room bays. While I haven’t needed dentures, she has a CAD machine on site to custom craft various parts. She also only does x-​rays every 3 years unlike my previous dentist who did them every year.

Dr. Banes is an incredible dentist. I had to have extensive work done and I am so glad I found Dr. Banes! Dr. Banes is a talented and extremely skilled dentist, she does beautiful cosmetic work, and is able to make a nervous person like myself feel calm because I know I am in good hands. Valerie, the hygienist, is fantastic as well. My teeth have never been healthier or looked better.

Dr. Banes is fantastic. I was afraid of dentists and now I kind of look forward to going for a visit twice a year. She has pulled out a wisdom tooth, given me some fillings. The hygenist there, Valeria, is really good as well. They really pay attention to each tooth and I can tell that they care about my teeth in the future not just in the present. I feel like their care is preventative in that they want to fix things so that when I’m older I won’t have as many teeth problems. They are great!
