Not good. My wife paid $ 22 for dry chicken. They gave us free dessert for the lousy chicken. Free dessert had mold on it. Just keep walking, better place to eat in Durango.

I LOVELOVE this place. Excellent, ambiance, beautiful, great place to enjoy a meal. I went for brunch & they fresh squeeze their oranges. I can’t say enough about the eclectic French environment. This place is rock star awesome! go here!!!

Purchased the chocolate pecan cookies because they had samples and were excellent. If we were staying in Durango it would be a great breakfast place

Probably one of the worst meals ever! The server was nice, but even he said he doesn’t eat from the menu. We can see why. The prices were VERYHIGHEVENFOR A GOODMEAL, but absurd for a bad meal. We ordered the French dip, it was served in extremely hard bread with almost no meat on it. The salad had no dressing. My mom couldn’t even eat it. My boyfriend got the cup of bisque. We couldn’t believe the size of the cup. It was maybe 3 ounces and it had no shellfish in it that we could taste or see. It was 6.95 for it, awful. My croque monsier was dry and tasteless. The server took the sandwiches off the bill and said they get complaints about the French dip regularly. I usually don’t write reviews, but this was really bad. I hope the owner will make improvements.

At first glance, Jean Pierre is the perfect French bakery-Parisian style pastries, homemade jams and jellies, homemade baguettes, espresso… the list goes on. When I studied abroad in Europe I had over 120 pastries in the semester. Yes, I counted! :) Anyway, I have had my fair share of Parisian pastries. The ones on display at Jean Pierre looked sad. What do I mean by sad? They were dry looking, crumbling on the sides, and some of the fruit ones looked lackluster. We decided not to purchase any pastries. Instead we purchased 3 bread pastries. One croissant, one apricot and almond croissant, and one apricot style strudel. The almond apricot croissant is a 3⁄5. It was not very flakey. The butter croissant was also a 3⁄5. It lacked flakiness. The apricot style strudel had 2 apricots at either end! Perhaps we should have asked the quantity of apricots in the strudel but we assumed there was going to be more. So that was a little disappointing.

Best breakfast in Durango! This place is adorable. The Country French Breakfast($ 13) is the best. Eggs, bacon, potatoes & a freshly baked croissant with jam & butter. Perfection. Cappuccinos are over $ 5 but totally worth it. Skip appetizers & dessert. The cheese plate was lacking and the crème brûlée was not good. The wine bar is cute, though.

I had the apricot strudel everyday I was in Durango. So unusual in its texture and flavor. Service was uneven but cheerful. Pricey but worth it.

I have been here only twice, which is weird since I live so close by in Farmington. Both times the food was great, the service was brilliant and the price was reasonable. The last time I was their the owners sat at the table next to me and my girlfriend and we had a lovely chat with them! It was such a fun experience. I highly recommend the spinach salad with chicken. It is wonderful.

We have eaten here several times. Sometimes we go just for dessert and coffee. It is an interesting restaurant as it was formerly an old slaughterhouse once. It is rustic and it has a rustic French farm feel but the owner also has some interesting paintings on the wall. They have a happy hour in which they showcase some of their wines. The food is always good and the lobster bisque is superb. Since they are a bakery, make sure to ask for a bread basket with the bisque. Bisque costs 11.90 a bowl and plan on spending $ 12 – 15 per person for lunch. It is a quiet and cozy place most of the time.

Love the desserts. Everything else is way too expensive. The staff seem a bit snotty too. They tried to ignore us for a while and when we asked questions about the French pastries we felt talked down too. The only reason I gave them a 3 was because the desserts we got were very good.

Really wanted to love this place, but sadly it fell very short. $ 3.90 for a soda… plain Coke… and not even a refill! Are you kidding me? BEWARE. How can a glass of wine cost $ 5 and Coke almost the same? And of course, there was no price on the menu. Had the tomato soup and the seafood bisque. Both were tasty, but seafood bisque seemed watered down. Starting to get the feeling this place is cutting corners to make a quick buck. If you have any food allergies, or anything you don’t like, don’t rely on the menu to tell you what you will actually get. Got the cheese/tapas plate. ½ the cheese we were supposed to get we did not. But we got 3 kinds of blue cheese, which stayed untouched. I usually ask when it comes to cheese plates, but thought that as they listed the cheeses, that we would get what it said. Also comes with olives and nuts. Well, pecan pieces and black olive slices you get in a can. Super unimpressed! High hopes, but don’t waste your money.

This place has really wonderful food, the atmosphere is very nice as well. But to start off they seated us all the way in the back in the hidden room while there was lots of space in the front. Our waiter did not introduce himself and he seemed way too young to be waiting tables. He was quite scatterbrained to say the least and did not come to refill drinks or check in on us. We had ordered French Onion Soup but it did not come out with the other food later to find out that they had forgot to make it. We went to cancel the order of soup because everyone was already eating and then the waiter came in to say that NEXTTIME the soup was on the house. But 10 minutes later a French onion soup came out saying it was on the house. When the bill came the French onion soup was on the bill. the service is weak which is sad because the food is very good. Food is very overpriced though!

We were a little concerned that the bakery didn’t smell like a bakery and none of the items looked fresh. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Saturday night. We chose to stay for dinner and noticed that the place looked less than clean. Our soup and salad was average. The bread came out cold and before I took a bite noticed it was moldy. I looked at other pieces and they were moldy too. The waitress explained that the restaurant freezes the fresh bread and the blue was just the flour. It was mold. We cancelled our dinner order and left.

I have to be honest: this is way, way to expensive. Love the food, love the venue and love the waitresses(and men) but that’s something you may expect for these prices. We ate here the last 3 – 4 times we were in Durango. Always a good stop for good food and for people watching. Luckily it was warm enough to have breakfast on the sidewalk. That alone is worth it. The missing star is because of the prices and the terrible coffee. A latte, for latte prices, is not just an ordinary cup of coffee with hot milk in it, served cold.

Top quality pastries. Be prepared to order more than you can eat — they look that good.

All our food was bland. But what made the visit so poor was our server. To begin with he never introduced himself, so how do we know who’s taking care of us? We only saw him a few times and when we did he didn’t really attend to us. Secondly, we had to ask for refills three times. Lastly, when he dropped the check off at the table he hovered over us until we were ready to pay. The food being not too great is one thing, that I can overlook, but the poor service

This review is for the bakery. We had seen the bakery on a walk and after dinner at a different location stopped by for a desert and something to take back to the room for a snack with coffee before bed. We were there after 7:00pm and the selection I am sure was not as good as if we had been there earlier but there was plenty to choose from. Not being able to make a choice we asked the lady behind the counter for recommendations. After asking a few questions she recommended a chocolate bar made of layers of pastry and chocolate. Sorry forgot the name, a lemon tart and a shortbread cookie my wife picked out. Sitting outside we had half cookie each, half the lemon tart and I a quarter of the chocolate bar. The lemon tart was good but would try something else next time. Nothing wrong just I am not that fond of lemon. The chocolate bar was extremely good and I was happy I saved some for later with coffee. My wife maces over 4000 cookies during Christmas to make over 50 cookie trays for family, friends and our children’s friends. That was the primary reason to try the shortbread cookie. It was shortbread with pecans and a drop of chocolate on top. Great cookie. This year this cookie will be in the mix. Price wise yes the pastry is what some would call expensive. We expected that to be so when we went in. If you travel the price we paid was no more than anywhere else. Happy eating.

This place ain’t cheap but it’s really good. My boyfriend and I had breakfast here on a Saturday. I was surprised it wasn’t busier — maybe Durango isn’t much of a breakfast town? We walked in and got a table right away. I ordered the basic breakfast and my boyfriend got the quiche. Both orders came with one of their croissants and butter and jam. Everything was really tasty but the croissant really was the standout. It was big and fluffy and flaky in all the right ways. Paired with the butter and jam… oh my yum! It made the meal. This place is super cute, everyone working there was really nice, and the food was excellent. A great choice in downtown Durango.

Such a cute café /bakery /bar. Located in downtown Durango on historical main st., the furnishings are a mix of rustic and chic. The bakery had fresh pastries and bread. We chose some less expensive options for breakfast like the beautifully cut fruit salad, a pastry, and a latte. With menu items like crab crepes, you can imagine how easy it would be to break the bank. I had the chocolate royale, and I wasn’t sorry… in fact I’m still dreaming about it all the way in Phoenix.

Dropped in for a pastry; didn’t eat at their restaurant. Service was friendly and there were still quite a few pastry options available in the evening. I went with a lemon tart. It was really good — crunchy crust, creamy lemon filling. But, it’s seriously overpriced at close to $ 7 for a tiny tart. Prices are not listed, so I’d advise asking before ordering.
