Great lunch today. The Ruben on the pretzel bun was really good. The green chili roast was great, the green chilies gave the sandwich such a good flavor. I would definitely go back.

We came into town this evening with a group of 31. Yes, a BIG group. Steamworks, wasn’t able to accommodate us within a reasonable time frame but was honest about it over the phone. Carver Brewery told my husband over the phone that they could accommodate us but it would be about an hour wait. When we arrived at Carver, they said that their was no way anyone would have told us they could accommodate us. INDIA, the«GM» was extremely rude. We visit Durango often and we will definitely visit Doc Hathaway’s again.

Wonderful! Stopped by after the train ride and it was a most welcome late lunch/early dinner! Got the docs burgers, blue moon on tap and both were awesome!

So-so. Typical bar/diner food. The seating is cramped in the tight space. The waitress was very friendly and the best part of the experience.

I’ve been in Durango for a week now and been to docs three times! Haven’t been upset yet. Awesome place, great atmosphere, great and fun service. Had something different all 3 times and haven’t been upset yet. Doc burger is incredible and only 5 bucks!

Food was very good and the waitress was very nice. Had the burger and it was big and came with fries and a pickle. Grilled cheese was good. Cajun turkey sandwich was not very Cajun but good. Loved our food.

My parents and I popped in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised! Upon first look the menu sure looks like this place is suited towards the lunch crowd: mainly sandwiches, wraps, salads, and burgers. But we went with it and ordered the potato skins to start, followed by the grilled chicken sandwich, the Philly sandwich, and the Whittier sandwich. Our server, Gage, was super nice and happy to help! He was a bit overwhelmed since he was the only one working, but he did his best to make sure we had everything we needed. The potato skins were excellent! Definitely order them with green chili, it gives them a nice spicy bite. We were glad we ordered these when we did though because Gage had to tell a table that they were all out about 5 minutes after we ordered ours. I liked the Whittier sandwich which had a lot of turkey, but I would have preferred fresh avocado instead of the guac. The waffle fries were LEGIT, I’d definitely order these again. My dad liked the Philly but my mom was a little sad the chicken sandwich wasn’t spicy(she ordered it cajun). The side of German potato salad was so-so, so we ended up sharing my fries because they were yummy crunchy goodness. Overall I’d come back but for lunch next time :)

Came in, sat down and got exactly what I wanted and quickly. A club sandwich and wings really hit the spot. The wings were done perfectly, they were plump and juicy. The space is small but its very quaint and makes you feel at home. We’ll be back!

The better half and I stopped here for two Doc’s burgers. It was our first time in the establishment. It was lunch time and we had things to do, so we didn’t order the cocktail special. The burgers were great! The fries were ok. Friendly atmosphere that could have used more lunchtime traffic. When there get the Doc’s Burger. it is very good. I had a double and it was perfection. Don’t let the low cost fool you. It is a great treat. Folks, do not hesitate trying out this café, like I did. Big mistake. I should have tried it out long ago. I recommend people go NOW and give as much support as possible for they are new and struggling.

We were in Durango for the first time, looking for some southwestern flavor. Ordered the Chicken Francisco and it fit the bill. I loved it.

Rolled back into Doc’s yesterday, high noon. They were running a cocktail special and a lunch special, posted on the chalkboard outside. This was my fourth visit in just over 2 months; 3rd time eating. I gotta say, the upstairs at Doc’s is FANTASTIC. It’s really comfy, and just busy enough to «be hopping» without being stuffy. They were playing an 80’s music cable channel and it was nice… not too loud. One star for the ambiance. I think there were a total of 3 people on staff yesterday: The owner and his helper in the kitchen, and a young lady working the tables downstairs and bar and window seating upstairs. She was very pleasant, attentive and filled with vigor. One star just for her. Since last visit, Doc has broken out the full menu, and it is quite extensive with sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a small assortment of New Mexican favorites… enchiladas, smothered burritos, etc. I got a Doc burger, doubled. She got a Doc burger, single. My first Doc burger, her second. She said«Too much bun» … I said«Not enough bun»! Doubling up the Doc makes it a real handful, and it is quite, quite tasty. I wonder if I could get it prepared with grilled onions, and patties fried with mustard?(aka…Animal Style). I am sure I could if there during a slow period. I also highly recommend the italian grinder, now a full time resident on the menu. I got one late January when it was a special on the chalk board. Good eats. Unilocal needs more stars. With one star for the ambiance, and one for the staff, plus 4 more for the entrees, and two«full, no kidding» stars for the waffle fries, Doc gets a 8 star rating from me for burgers and sandwiches.

We tried Doc Hathaway’s for the first time yesterday and it was absolutely not worth the time it took to get our meal nor the cost. We are big supporters of our local Durango businesses which are normally great. Don’t waste you time and money here. Food was cold, lacking flavor and took 40 minutes to get even though there was no one there. The guacamole served on top of the meal was BLACK! Not very good quality control in this restaurant.

Had the green chili dip-excellent, spicy flavor, good portion size. Yummy crispy criss cut fries. Good beers on tap. Window seat upstairs is a must do. Friendly staff, could have been a bit more attentive but not a deal breaker for me. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

All of the flavors are excellent. This is the first day of their soft opening so the menu is limited but does not disappoint. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly; I an anxiously awaiting their grand opening now!
