Good news, City Market. The Walmart employees told me you have the best roasted chicken. So I came over and found not one, but two versions. I bought the«colossol chicken.» It’s fragrance filled my car for the next two hours’ ride over the mountain. Awesome. Also, fresh fruit and the last of the season’s local corn went into the car, too. Olathe corn is legendary. I didn’t even bother to shuck it in my haste to carry it away. One of my friends’ 3 year old daughter who is learning to read, ordered some this summer. Her order was perfectly story-book: «Mommy. Bring me some Ola The Corn.» A very efficient check out. Although I neglected to bring my red City Market card. The clerk didn’t even blink when I explained through the 90 degree summer heat that I had left it in my ski jacket. She used the cowboy’s card who was in line behind me to scan & apply discounts to my purchase. Thanks, y’all. Right generous.
