AA American Auto Repairs & Towing

It’s sad a AAA company has to have there own family write reviews, can“t you get someone who dosen’t know you karma really does stink dozen, t You break parts out of cars and charge customers for it is per AAA you can“t have felons on the pay roll. need to find that will call everyday. I’ll give you 2 stars because I fill sorry for you.

I can’t speak to the auto repair part of this business but post this review on towing. The 5 Stars are for Ron Bowen, a tow truck driver for this company. Earlier this month we experienced car trouble on Highway 550 near Molas Lake Campground. We were able to limp into the campground and with a weak cell signal available there, called our insurer to arrange for a tow. After much discussion with Good Sam Road Service relating to the need for a specific type of repair shop qualified to work on our BMW, a tow truck was arranged. Lucky for us, AA-​American Towing was dispatched and the driver was Ron Bowen. Once loaded on the flatbed tow truck, Ron double checked his paperwork when we mentioned we would be glad to get back to Durango. Somewhere along the way Good Sam Road Service (aka Allstate Motor Club) decided we should go to Silverton, the closest town. Anyone who knows Silverton knows there would not be anyone there who could work on the BMW… Ron knew this and immediately went to work on getting the records corrected to reflect a tow back to Durango. It took quite some time and lots of talking. Ron was kinder with the folks he talked to than I would have been had the phone been in my hand. If Ron is an indication of the type of employees AA American Towing uses for towing, our hat goes off to them. We wish Ron the best.

If I could use zero stars I would. Do not use A/​A American Towing and Repair for any auto repairs or towing ! We brought in a truck to have a new engine put in. We were quoted a price for the replacement engine and pre paid for that and asked roughly what the labor would be. We were told 5 hours by the mechanic and what the hourly charge was for the R&R. When the final bill was given to us the hourly charge was for 36 hours for which they were unable to justify the increase. I understand it was an estimate quoted from the service manual (which actually should have been 10 hours according to the manual) A few hours difference is understandable but 36 hours is a rip off. After discussing the bill with them at GREAT length it was reduced to 28 hours. Still a huge overcharge! Also they tried double billing on the parts. I would NOT recommend these guys for any work, total fraud!
