Starbucks

My favorite Starbucks. I like this location because the staff here are really friendly, and they actually know how to make my drink. I’m that annoying customer that asks for many options in my drink, and they get it right EVERY TIME. The interior of this place is clean, and has nice seating arrangements to study at. Also, if you’re in a hurry the drive thru is efficient, and fast. No complaints.

Decent Starbucks location with drive-​thru in the heart of Downtown DuPont.

I love my hometown Starbucks. I’m just giving a shout out because I got a free Tabata breakfast sandwich. thank you so much keep up the good work.

First things first, I know that Dupont has developed a little over the past few years but this ‘Bucks location is in the worst place. This parking lot is beyond terrible. There are three restaurants right next to ‘Bucks in that shopping center and the parking lot itself is majorly too small. Anyone that has come here in the morning or during lunch hours has probably had a hard time entering or exiting. If you want to spend half your lunch making pinpoint turns to avoid hitting people in the drive thru as you backup or avoid driving forward into the line of cars parking in front of Subway, Dominos, or I-​Sushi, then by all means go to this location. Also, in the morning the drive thru line basically blocks traffic. There are never any parking spaces so even if you want to get out and stand in line inside the ‘Bucks instead of sitting in the drive thru, you’re basically stuck.
It is kind of nice they have outdoor and indoor seating and wi-​fi.
On a alternate note, there really isn’t any competition for coffee in Dupont. Lord knows Washingtonians love their coffee and are willing to wait for it. The few times I’ve been here though the food items are great and usually piping hot. The people have also been reasonably nice as well and have never messed up my order. The drive thru does move pretty quickly though during most hours of the day. Sadly though it’s about the coffee and drinks. I would rather go elsewhere for coffee that has more flavor and doesn’t taste watered down or overpowered with sugar. I’ve ordered items without coffee like the Oprah Chai, the regular chai, the green tea frapp, the vanilla frapp, the passion tea lemonade (which isn’t on the menu), and others and they’re just… ok. I don’t even drink coffee that often so you can take this review with a grain of salt… or sugar… whichever.

Inside is very friendly and good service time, but I went through the drive thru the other day and service was amazingly SLOW and the lady at the window barely looked at me to give my drink to me and didn’t say much or smile. I was pretty disappointed

Service seemed like they were drinking a little too much of the coffee themselves. Just very jittery, I guess. I don’t think there was anything different here than any other Starbucks. However, this one was kind of small and oddly arranged.

Service at this Starbucks was not good. I don’t think they made my drink right. I tried to ask the barista what milk she put in, all she did throw a box on the counter at me and went back to making drinks never saying anything to me.

Disappointing Starbucks at this location. The order taker «Lisa» was too distracted with something other then taking orders that she did not here my order correctly twice. If I was a soft spoken person I could understand, but I am not. Besides being distracted she seemed unfriendly compared to other employees at this location. At this Starbucks they ask for your name so they can call out the order, which is pointless, when the Barista making coffees does neither call out the name on the cup or the actual coffee order. This is not what I have come to expect from Starbucks.

The coffee was terrible tasting today. Their machine is off and it tastes awful. Upon asking to have my drink remade, and it still not tasting right on their 2^nd try, I was not offered an apology coupon or a refund. Straight into the trash my drink went. I am very disappointed in this Starbucks, as a regular customer who has a Starbucks Gold Card I know I should have been treated better. Won’t be going back

I am not the only negative review of this location. I have no feelings of hatred or feelings in general toward any one person. I don’t know any of you, and why would you assume I care so much? I left an honest, 100% genuine review based on my experience as this is what Unilocal is for. My question to you Shelly E. Staff member of Dupont Starbucks, is why are you harassing me? Are you harassing every person who writes a negative review?

This Starbucks is close to me and I can exploit my Evo’s handling and acceleration coming and exiting here. Lol jk. Maybe…

We always get great service.
This is our second time living in WA and they have never messed up an order.
We forgot our morning receipt for our drink but they still let us use the afternoon drink coupon based off our Starbucks App receipt.

Missed the decaf and missed the soy. The soy was important as my wife has Celiac’s disease (no dairy).

I love being back in WA. Ordering my drink that isn’t all too complicated and not having to repeat myself is awesome. Plus Dupont is like a little pleasant-​ville, I love the location.

As I work in DuPont this is my go to Starbucks on my way to/​from work. They consistently make my drink correctly and have good customer service. Sometimes they can be on the slow side, especially weekday mornings before 8. I’ve been late to meetings twice trying to get a coffee here at 7:30, so now unless I have a good 15 mins to spend getting coffee before having to hit I5 then I don’t even risk it. This is the most frustrating thing about this Starbucks as they are consistently busy at the same time every single day yet don’t staff to handle the business.

Don’t come here if your in a hurry.

Bad service, I lived in DuPont for 6 months and this has got to be one of the slowest Starbucks I have been to (and I’ve been to many all over the US). Once I was in the drive through for 12 minutes and their drive though is quite small; maybe 3 – 4 cars long.
So the reason for the 1 star… I bought my husband a coffee mug for $ 20+ probably about 2 years ago and I called the Starbucks in Olympia (because I live there now) and asked what the exchange policy was for a coffee mug that leaked and was falling apart. I told them it had been a long time since I bought it and they said «no problem, even if its been 8 years, bring it in».
Well I happen to have an appt in DuPont and just figured I would exchange it there since Starbucks is a chain right? Well the girl at the register said it was fine to exchange but then some other older blonde lady asked what was going on and said that I couldn’t exchange it because it was old and they didn’t carry that style anymore. Well okay… I left but I used to work at Starbucks and I know that when my $ 175 coffee machine took a poop after 3 years they exchanged it no problems but a stainless steel $ 20 coffee mug is too much for DuPont Starbucks to exchange? Com’on DuPont, get it together!!!

It’s a Starbucks with a drive thru. It’s very busy but they work fast to get you in and out of there!

Being the only Starbucks drive-​thru on the way to JBLM has got to be difficult every single morning and I understand that, but barista’s you have one job and that is to make coffee and give it to coffee lovers to start their day off right. Now, I understand this is a lot of pressure because this makes or brakes someones day. HOWEVER, the last few days of my morning have been a bit rocky and this why…
If someone asks for a drip coffee, why is it that the person needs to request a coffee stopper? Without a coffee stopper I would need to keep my lips sucked to my cup the remainder of the way to work to avoid spilling my coffee all over the car or better yet my lap — Tip # 1. Tip #2 if you insist on filling my coffee to the brim of the cup please provide napkins that way again the coffee doesn’t spill all over my lap, car or over the side of the cup where the seem meets the top of the cup.
Although, these two tips may seem minuscule I promise you this will make not only my mornings better, but also other coffee drinking patrons who have no other choice but to go to this Starbucks for coffee on their way to work.

Convenience is worth three stars. The coffee? Not really. The service? Friendly enough. The food? Pretty much fast food.
But to have a conveniently clean bathroom right off the freeway with decently easy access? And if you need to find a member of the DuPont police squad, there’s almost always at least one hanging out here sippin on Frapp.
I would describe the food+drink here but it’s a Starbucks, so you know what to expect.
