It’s a shame some morons want to sell this place …
This is really quite the place and a real asset to the community. However, some people and especially the County Executive have forgotten what the place is all about. They believe that is was created to make money for the local government and have forgotten it was created to give those people in need a place to live, heal, and be safe that otherwise might not be able to afford it. Not everything has to be a money maker to be an asset. Again — the country executive wants to sell off anything that displeases him — airports, nursing homes — will the hospital be next?
At any rate — The Chautauqua County Home is clean, well maintained and the staff work hard to create an atmosphere that the residents feel comfortable in. Could it be better — most certainly — just as all places could be. Could it be run better and maybe less a strain on the economy — most certainly, but these things take change.
I visited my mother-​in-​law in this place and found it to be everything I had hoped it would be. IF the need ever arises where I need this place — I hope it will be there in my time of need!
