Delco’s Original Steak & Hoagies

My husband is from Philly and Delcos is such a treat for us. Just had a 60 Surprise BD party for him and had Delcos Italian Sub platter and Cheese steak sandwiches. Everyone wanted to know where this fabulous hidden secret was. Was the hit of the party! Thank you Ed!

Best place to get your Philly Steak hands down! I get mine with the works ! Just awesome! The side of fries is huge. Big enough to share between 2 people. They do not accept credit cards. Make sure you bring cash!

Best Philli Cheese Steak I’ve EVER had. Kind of weird it’s CASH only! Just sayin… kind of weird.

When ever I am in Clearwater I ask myself, Are you Hungry? Because Delco’s is always on my radar! BEST PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS ANYWHERE! I have had both Pat’s & Geno’s and sorry boys– Delco’s Blows those away! Be sure to check out their stand at the Philly’s Spring Training Game at Brighthouse Field!

Great subs. Steak and cheese is always solid. Fast delivery, friendly staff, and a clean eating area is why Delcos is always so busy. And by the way, I don’t know about you, but some of the best places I’ve eaten at only accepted cash.

Food was excellent! Service was awesome! I won’t say what they did (so no swindlers try anything lol) but let’s just say they accommodated the fact that I didn’t pay attention to the cash only ! We fixed it and I definitely appreciated the service and the food, yum !

Very busy place prices are good the cheese steaks are good except they chop up there steak too much hence the other reviewer saying its hamburger meat !! That’s why I am going with 4 star it’s too chopped up for me.

The food here is phenomenal. Be prepared before you go, they only take cash, but trust me it’s worth a trip to the ATM.

Very good philly cheese. Hot, delicious chewy, cheesy goodness all on a very fresh roll. And the fries and onion rings are always great/​very crisp & served fresh out of the fryer. Worth stopping by if you’re in Dunedin and in the mood for a good cheese steak sandwich but Do Bring Cash as they don’t take credit cards.

We had the worst steak and cheese hoagie here that we have ever had. It was hamburger! No steak in sight. We’ve had steak and cheese hoagies from here to California, and up to New England. We’ve never had one made with hamburger.
The onion rings were good.
We hope that you have a better experience. At least the prices are moderate to low.

I discovered Declo’s when a coworker offered to go pick up roast beef subs for lunch — so I agreed and had the best roast beef sub ever! When he said Declo’s in Dunedin I was stunned as I live in Dunedin and probably passed this place hundreds of times. It’s tucked away in an almost defunct little strip mall and is one of the last stores standing after Sweet Bay disappeared. The way to find it is when you see the McDonalds on Main St — turn there and quickly bypass the golden arches and head to the back of the lot and you’ll find heaven in Dunedin. It’s cash only, which is fine because the prices are amazingly low! Their steak and cheese is just awesome — no other words to describe it except ya gotta have one or a hundred. Delicious — and if you’re not in the mood for that, they got lots of other stuff.
I’ve had the roast beef many times as well and it just doesn’t get much better. Self serve drinks in bottles or fountain, and some of the best fries and onion rings you’ll find. It’s perfect for those days when you just say the hell with this stupid diet, I gotta have something great to eat — then on those days, hit the ATM and then get to Delco’s and you’ll be loving life again! Who knows, you may never go back to dieting ever again after this. Yep, it’s that good.

Thanks to the other reviews, I knew to bring cash. Not a huge place, but there appeared to be ample seating. I ordered at the register, they gave me a number to place on my table, I filled up my drink and sat down. My meal arrived after about five minutes, so no complaints on the wait time.
As this was my first time here, I had to order the Cheesesteak. I ordered it all the way, which meant it was adorned with mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, onions, and peppers. The portion size was very generous. I felt that this was a very, very good Cheesesteak, and I appreciate that they ship their buns in from Philly. However, there is another place in the county that I feel has slightly better Cheesesteaks, hey, to each their own.
Fast service, fair pricing, and generous portions, I would return.

Family reunion and it was our turn to buy a meal. Decided to get lots of sub sandwiches from Delco’s and some fries and onion rings. I did not have the bad customer experience some have whined about here. I thought the service was pretty authentic Philly, too. Act like a jerk and they will be unafraid to tell you that. They were really nice to me even though I stumbled through my large order as a Delco virgin. They do not take credit cards but the prices justify you having to pay in cash. It is a great deal for food these days. And what busy sub shop in Philly takes phone calls? Get in line with everyone else, ya bum!
So onto the food. While I agree with everyone here, steak subs are as good as it gets, I want to be sure and mention they have some of the best onion rings I have ever had. Crisp and firm without being dry but not greasy. Amazing! I wish I had ordered about 10 pounds of them.
Other sandwiches worth a mention — the hot roast beef sub. It was truly a standout, I do not think I have ever had anything quite like it. The veggie sub sandwich was pretty decent according to the person who ate it. I like meat. My daughter got a spicy steak sub that had pepper jack cheese on it and she was very happy with it.
So if you want the best sub sandwich in an area that stretches from St Petersburg to Port Richey and Clearwater Beach to Tampa, head for Dunedin and eat at Delco’s. You will not be disappointed. Unless you act like a jerk.

Great cheesesteaks, burgers, fries and onion rings. I love that they deliver, so when I am stuck at work or being lazy at home, I can make a quick call and the food shows up quickly.
Make sure to have cash, as that is all they take, but it is great eat-​with-​your-​hands food at a very decent price.

Philadelphians argue about cheesesteaks just like Memphians compare barbecue and New Yorkers debate corned beef sandwiches. Most natives rarely would say «…this is as good as the ones from back home…», no matter how good the product may be. But, as a person born-​and-​raised in Philly, I think these cheesesteaks are winners. It helps that the rolls are shipped in from the bakery that the ‘big guys’ sell in Philadelphia, but the steak, cheeses and preparation are all right on target. I’ve never been disappointed at Delco, and enjoy these and their other sandwich offerings, their fries and rings are great, and washing it all down with an after-​meal TastyKake (pick from about 20 choices).
It’s a fun and easy place to enjoy a very tasteful meal at a very reasonable price. Truly worth a try!

Philly cheesesteak is pretty good but not the best. The only reason I order from here is because it’s close to my job. I don’t like the fact that it is almost impossible to order over the phone during lunch time. Because of this, I have to physically leave my job to order my food in this small overcrowded establishment. The wait during lunch is about twenty minutes for one sandwich. One thing I absolutely hate about this place is the customer service. I am from up north so I understand that these people are trying to act as if that’s where we are but we’re not. Every time I go in to order, I feel as if I am being rushed. They don’t say thank you and if they do, it seems as if they don’t mean it. To some people, service does not matter but to those who it does matter, I would choose a different place to get sandwiches.
