This was the worst Lubys I have ever been to. Its in Duncanville, Tx. Horrible and expensive. Food was cold by the time we waited in line to pay because cashiers was visiting with people and sacking to go orders. I have always looked forward to the desert part and what they did have which was very little, wasn’t like the normal Lubys. The chocolate pies were like a gelatin with chocolate flavor added to them. Couldn’t eat at all. Even the person with me said it was horrible. Nothing like the Lubys in Houston, Baytown, Austin, or even Lancaster. Do not recommend.

Zucchini is good. Garlic bread is tough and chewy. Price and added on extra items that were not told beforehand. For example. For the Luann special a salad can take the place of a side however they charged an extra .99 that they didn’t let us know beforehand. Also the Luann comes with bread but if you there also had a .70 cent upcharge. Luby’s used to be a place my elders came to, can’t believe that they would rip off seniors this way. I came with my 75 year old aunt and I paid. Can’t imagine she could afford a $ 30 lunch on the regular.

GHETTO!!! If you want SLOW unprofessional service please patronize this awful location. The staff is rude, clueless and did I mention slow… Went here recently to wait 10 min in the drive thru line to be told to pull around front to wait on my food that would be ready in 2 minutes to then be told another 10 minutes later my food still wasn’t ready. I left and came back to wait another 10 minutes to have my food come out with a long HAIR hanging from my food container to the outside of the bag. I then had to wait another(you guessed it) 10 minutes or more to get a refund. I’ll never attempt to purchase food from this location again. The staff act as if they don’t need customers in order to get paid. I must say that the manger was classy and well spoken when I complained to her. She deserves a much better staff.

I don’t understand why I continue to support this Lubys on Hampton. They never have what you want, I asked for cheese on my salad and she said we don’t have any, I asked for ranch an the side and she said we don’t have any of that either. This is the most unconsistent place I have ever seen. The crazy thing is when you ask the managers about items that they do not have they always blame it on «the truck». Today is my last day coming to this lubys ever in life again.

Omg! Worst service ever don’t go there! Horrible don’t do it… If you want your lunch dinner ruined don’t go. The wait time was ridiculous for a freaking dessert to go. Never going here again … I love Luby’s just not this one. It’s dirty sticky and gross and they are rude and slow.

Just left this location about 30 minutes ago. If you want cold food and incorrect order come to this location. First off i requested green beans they give me some gook with green beans. So I call the manager *Thomas* to see WTH they have given me and he continues to disconnect the line. If it wasn’t so cold I would drive back up there. I normally go to the Desoto location but this one is closer to my home. It’s so worth the extra minutes for better food… The only reason I give it 2 stars was bc the drive thru lady was really nice and professional. Wow. It seems like this location may have taken your feedback to heart. I, too, had dealt with a lot of pains and plain bad service(especially when it came to the ultra slow drive-thru), but it seems that they must have actually acted on some of the problems. The last few times I went, the customer service was greatly improved, managers were more on hand to make sure things ran smoothly, and they’ve sped up. What hasn’t gotten better, unfortunately, is the seasoning of the food. I don’t know when Luby’s started going ultra bland but it is a problem. I mean, it isn’t nasty, but it also just doesn’t taste like it used to. Also, some of the food is extremely luke warm, yet they serve the food on a plate so hot that it burned the heck out of my hand when they passed it to me. I think I will still go when I get a hankering for cafeteria food, but I can’t promise how often that will be.

Luby’s of new, not of old. Went with some friends since it was their pick. Chicken fried chicken wasn’t even thoroughly cooked on one side, counter looked terrible with huge gaping holes with no food at all and had 3 fish selections but little variety of anything else. The dessert section was the only bit that looked good. Fried okra needs to be with crushed crackers, not pre bread crap from sysco. Where are the glasses, plastic cups for water? It was like stepping into a dive hole diner using plastic. Pappa Bros you are STILL doing it wrong! Get rid of the TVs, bring back the tea lady, and make some food in the kitchen. Quit heating and serving or just get out of the business really.

Well, things must have changed. I read some of the other reviews & was a little concerned. But when I got here, the service line was fast & friendly. The wait staff was efficient & friendly also. And the food was pretty good as well! Now the price was still pretty high. Last time I came here, I paid $ 15.00 for my lunch. Today, $ 20.00!!! Let’s hope things keep getting better!

Wow this lubys breakfast is the worst. Grits were like water and I told them but they didn’t replace it and they were cold. I left after spending 9 dollars very disappointed

Visited on Saturday for a early lunch. Food was to Lubys usual standards. We always enjoy Luby’s with our kids but do not have one near our home in Mckinney. Bön Qui Qui behind the service line was loud and rude when my wife had questions about what a Luann was. We let it go becuase the food was well presented and fresh. Once the found a table to in the dining area. Most of the tables were dirty and where never cleaned during our visit. A server introduced herself and offerred help if needed. A short while later she leaned over the back of my wife’s chair and«hollered» at her coworker on the other side of the wall. She never offered refill’s or to clear our dishes. The cashier Bön Qiu Qui #2 at the front register was eating a chicken leg with her fingers between guests. Two Managers were right there and did not take any action some I assume this goes on everyday. We really enjoy Lubys and there food. It is disappointing to see them fail and close cateteria’s over the years. It appears that unless they get their act together they will continue to fail. We will never return to this location but would be open to other Lubys.
