What a sweet little place! Plants abound outside, and then you go inside and find out that you’re in a little gem of a store that carries all kinds of neat and quirky items. Really I ended up here at the end of my day trip and will have to go back. Fred, who runs the shop, was a really interesting and informative guy. That’s why I love small shops; when there was a pause in customers, he and other folks got into a discussion about rocks, which left me fascinated and informed. And we’re talking old rocks, Native American origins and how to tell not only where you can find them, but how you can tell what they are. I loved it! And I should have known when I saw all the beautiful flowers in vases; apparently the owner is a florist.

Uniquarian could be an alternative name for this fun shop. One of a kind plants and decorations. You might find a hand-dyed and embroidered pillowcase from the 20’s or a potted succulent like you’ve never seen before. I have to limit my trips, but sometimes like a dieter who says she wants just a bite of your tiramisu, I can over-indulge unintentionally. The unique plants are pricey – $ 5 for a 4″ pot often times – but I’ve truly never seen some of them anywhere else. Ruffled black pansies? Rosey colored succulents with yellow highlights? If you’re looking for a gift that will wow those women who appear to have everything(a.k.a. your mom), this is the place to shop.

Most adorable shop on the Sonoma Coast! The live plants, incredible cut flowers, antiques and special rare finds are worth driving out to beautiful Duncans Mills for.

Lisa at the Antiquarian did the flowers for my wedding. She did an OUTSTANDING job. The bouquet, centerpieces, and wreathes were exactly what I was looking for. She was wonderful to work with and very communicative. The store is wonderfully diverse. There are wonderful antiques, potted flowers, wreathes, some statues, and even some cool local nicknacks. If you need a great florist, want some neat decorations, or just a browse through a wonderland… head on over!

Cute antique shop in Duncans Mills. Love all the old radio flyer wagons(they even have tiny ones!) filled with potted flowers outside the shop… very charming. Inside in small, however filled with all kinds of goodies. Have a nice selection of antique costume jewelry that is fun to look at. While I didn’t find anything to buy, I would stop by next time I am around to see what other goodies they have in store.
