Simply the best hot dogs. Big fat Thumans dogs in a fresh bun with your favorite toppings. Can’t beat it for $ 2.75. Specials every day. Tuesday’s 2 dogs and a can of soda for $ 6.00. Can’t beat that. Love their burgers and fries too.

I feel bad for writing this review but the truth is…
1/​the staff is super, duper friendly and makes you feel at home (worth a lot)
2/​the food is ok, and doesnt taste fried… prefer the other famous fried hot dog joints in terms of food
3/​limited options for hot dog toppings and non-​dog items
4/​fries were quite good

This place is a Dumont institution and for good reason. Their fried hot dogs are amazing and have the perfect bite and snap. Cheap, delicious, and fast. what more could you ask for? Chicken tenders, fries, and onion rings are all pretty solid choices too. Just don’t come here if you were in the mood for a salad!

Good little hole in the wall hot dog joint. The hot dogs are deep fried and better than Rutts Hut. Reasonably priced and there special deals on Tuesday. The rainbow hot dog was really good.

JOLLY NICK’S WINS HANDS-​DOWN. Superb food and service, and a MUCH better deal than regional fried hot-​dog competitors Callahan’s (formerly in Fort Lee NJ, now in Norwood NJ and Van Saun Park in Paramus and one other location) and the over-​rated Hiram’s (only in Fort Lee, NJ).
The elderly man who works the counter/​register (NOT the original Jolly Nick, who is nearly 90 years old and living in Florida) is very friendly and engaging, and his son, who does the cooking, is good with customers as well. It’s a pleasure to see and talk with these guys.
The hot dogs are amazing, the same as the competitors mentioned above or better.
Thursday’s deal is our fave: 3 dogs for $ 7.00.
On another day they offer ten Percent off for senior citizens, and they gave my parents the discount on the whole order even though they could see that most of it was for us and our small children. Saved almost five bucks right there.
Also, it costs only two bucks to add fries and a can of soda.
A bottle of Yoohoo — a Jersey original — costs $ 1.50.
Compare that to Hiram’s at $ 3.25 per dog, $ 2.00 for Yoohoo, and $ 2.25 or so for an annoyingly skimpy stingy order of fries, with no discounts EVER and dirty bathrooms and sullen grunt «service». Or Callahan’s at an absurd $ 4.25 per dog, unremarkable to indifferent customer service, and also no discounts ever.
Whenever we are vacationing in North Jersey to visit family, Jolly Nick’s is a must — and definitely more than once on each trip! We’re not even bothering with the ripoff artists at Hiram’s or Callahan’s anymore.

Everyone I know who’s been to Jolly Nick’s loves the dogs. Everyone has their own favorite to get (Red hot, Chili Cheese, Mustard/​Relish, etc.) and they stick with it. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it, and Jolly Nick’s has been getting it right for years. The old gentleman behind the counter is super friendly and service is quite quick. It can be busy with school kids during a school day lunchtime, yet the high school kids seem to be respectful of the establishment and keep the noise level relatively low. I love coming here and would recommend it to anyone in the area for a good dog as well as other menu items. It’s a great local spot.

if you like rippers, jolly Nick’s is very good. now you don’t have to drive all the way to Hiram’s.

This place never changes and that’s one of the reasons I keep coming back. Every time I come home, I have to stop by and get a hot dog from Jolly Nick’s. The guys behind the counter are always so friendly and accommodating.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch, the place is cute and small and full of kids. It seems like it’s a very local cool neighborhood spot. It gave us a glimpse of what to expect since we ate having a little boy this summer!
The owner took our order and was really nice! We got chilli all the ways and fries! Pretty good! Definitely a good spot for lunch or a quick bite!

Me and my friend Gary have been to over 50 H. D Places, wow, theses dogs were great. Mustard-spicy.Onions very tasty, hot or raw. Chili sauce… Very very flavorful with a tang not sweet. Great snap of dog. Highly highly recommended. Will return. great customer service as well.

Hot dogs that can’t be beat, served at good prices by a wonderful owner. Like others have said, there is a large selection but it does get very crowded at lunch time.

Their chicknic sandwich was duper yummy. Along with the rainbow and chili dogs.

Their hotdogs were good but looked pretty dry and crackly at the ends of the sausage.
The restaurant itself is on the small side as well as a bit dirty. I recommend getting your food, add your ketchup and jet out of there. Also gets super loud and dirty during 12PM weekdays from all the students nearby coming for lunch.

Great local place with good hot dogs, cheesesteaks, fries, etc. Friendly staff and low prices. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Jolly Nicks is a great little local joint that is definitely a Dumont staple. My personal go-​tos are the popcorn chicken and fries and you can’t beat their deep fried hotdogs. They are unreal. So delicious and there is no other place to get a hot dog like this. The service is great and I am never disappointed when I go here.

Great little find while on the road looking for a lunch spot! Got the feeling this place has been doing something right for generations! Super inexpensive and quality product is a win win… Alway great when you can walk into a place and know exactly what you are going to get.

Great Dogs, Great Staff, Great place!!! Chili cheese dogs, and Bacon cheese dogs are my go to choice. Popcorn Shrimp is also delicious. You won’t believe the prices until you see them! Not open many hours of the day, so make sure you get there between 1130 – 430. Amazing

I didn’t even wait to finish eating my food before I wrote a review… Awesome!!! Bacon cheese dog is out of this world. They have food there that isn’t on the menu online, so there was so much we wanted to order, which brings me to my next point. These prices are CRAZY! We got a meal for 4 people for under $ 12. And we got free sodas! I just moved to this area, and this place instantly is not my new favorite. Great Staff, Great Food, Great EVERYTHING

Good hot dogs, but as another reviewer wrote, «if you like rippers and sinkers you will not be happy». Very friendly person behind the counter running the show.
