Loved it. Hole in the wall on the far left side of Assi Plaza grocery store. I ordered the lunch combo #2 which was the soy sauce chicken and rice. The chicken was really tender and moist. The meal comes with a ton of rice, a side of greens and a little dipping sauce. They have a $ 10 minimum to use debit cards so I got a side of pork to go with it. The pork was delicious even though it was a little dry/tough. It seemed more like the pork you find in pork fried rice. The combo was only $ 6.50 for a ton of food so the price is very nice. Would highly recommend to person who wants to try some authentic Cantonese food.

Amazing Cantonese style BBQ! This place is a bit difficult to find though. It is located inside the ASSI market, next to a bakery(not directly in the food court but off to the side). Since it is a food court, you have the option of sitting in there although it isn’t the most pleasant experience. I would say, take the food to go and eat it at home or something! I have liked everything that I have tried there! The roast pork is ALWAYS so on point. The skin is always crispy and there is a great skin-fat-meat ratio so it melts in your mouth. The duck is just as amazing. While duck can be a little on the pricey side, it’s tender and juicy and meaty at the same time. I haven’t tried their chicken yet but I’ll be back to try that and the other options on the menu. Definitely give this place a try. You won’t regret it at all!

Ultimately a disappointment. Food probably worth two and a half stars but less because there’s no seating other than in a decrepit food court with lots of dirty tables and uncomfortable seating, little communication from the person serving the food at the counter, misleading photographs – the food I got did NOT resemble the photos! Photos show bright green vegetables. We got very yellowed cabbage, as did all the other people in line and everything was served on styrofoam, not ceramic or attractive plastic dishes, as photographed. The food itself, for us, was nothing more than generic Chinese Barbeque. Not bad but nothing special. Rice of mediocre quality. Just a meal… to be eaten because we were hungry. Nothing stood out about this place, food, ambience, service, convenience or anything other than a shabby seating area, remarkable for its shabbiness. – just barely.(Had it been truly shabby, now that would have been fun to talk about!) Oh, well…

When I crave peking duck I come here for their HK style roast duck. Their duck is meatier than the other places. This is the only place I buy whole ducks.

The best chinese roast duck and soy sauce chicken in the south. The owners of Sky BBQ have been in the Atlanta chinese restaurant scene for a long time, working at other restaurants previously. The owner perfected the recipe and opened shop here serving some amazing cantonese BBQ. A whole chicken will run you about $ 8, and it’s the most moist and tender poached chicken you’ll ever taste. If it gets cold, sprinkle some of the sauce and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds, and it’ll be just as good as fresh. If you’re a duck fan, you can’t miss their roasted duck. It’s more expensive than the chicken but still very reasonable for what you’re getting! Yum. I have dreams of this duck. No gamey taste at all, and it’s so tender! The roasted pork is also very good — especially if eaten fresh with its crispy skin. All of the BBQ here rivals what you’ll find in Vancouver, New York, SF, or LA. Tip: Go early because they sell out often! Find it in the store past the food court, across from the cheese section.

Sky bbq is legit Cantonese style bbq, and probably my fave OTP. Their roast duck and honey bbq pork is my usual order, but the roast pork and soy sauce chicken is just as delicious. Most of the time I order a bunch of meat and the portions can last me a couple of meals, but you can get combos that come with rice, veggies, and your choice of meat. I have yet to try the beef chow fun, but definitely will next time I’m here since other reviewers rave about it. The shop isn’t part of the food court, it’s actually in the supermarket next to the panaderia. Service is always fast even during the busy weekends.

Pros: Best duck I’ve had, can’t get enough rice and duck gravy. CHEAP Cons: The duck isn’t exactly«fresh», they only accept credit cards for orders over $ 10(most dishes are $ 6 – 7, the bok choy would be better replaced with some other vegetable. It’s not often I go OTP but when I do, I make it a point to go to Sky BBQ if I’m near Duluth(usually on the way home from Jeju spa which is on the same street). I was visiting the Assi Market(very similar to Super H Mart) and decided to get something hot to eat on the way home. It’s literally in the grocery store, aisle 16. The counter is usually deserted so you have to ring the bell. I’ve tried the roast duck, honey pork and the beef chowfun which is a savory flat noodle dish with delicious slices of succulent beef. The duck is really amazing. It’s been cooked earlier and they tend to warm it up in the microwave with your rice and bok choy that comes with it but that honestly doesn’t hinder the food at all. The duck is some of the best I’ve ever had. The skin is still crispy and I could eat nothing but the duck juices that they pour over the rice and be completely satisfied. The prices are so cheap I get two orders and save the other for tomorrow’s lunch.

Honey bbq pork on rice just delicious. Women chopping meat the hardest working woman in Duluth. I love this place when I get over the expressway to Assi. I usually take the food home. It travels very well. Try it you will like it.

meh. I’ve seen this place before but never tried it. I had the roast duck and char siew(BBq pork). The problem with Asian BBQ is a matter of freshness. Most places, including this, sells bbq that is made much earlier. Unfortunately, its not the same as fresh and out of the oven. There isn;t a place in ATL that does enough volume to have fresh BBQ. Its not bad BBQ, but it isn’t exactly the best.

Can’t say enough about how delicious and tender their pork is. Both the roast pork and sweet honey bbq pork are cooked perfectly AND at a good price. I’ve also had their duck which is equally delicious. I have yet to try the open pressed duck but look forward to when I do. Their beef chow fun has the right amount of wok smokiness to it and it’s not over-salted. One order reaps a huge portion that’s more than enough for a single person. This place is definitely above the other bbq joints in the area.

This place is a bit hard to find. It’s located inside the ASSi market on aisle 16 next to the Bakery. I had order 2 dishes form them the roast duck over rice and the Hong Kong style wonton noodle soup. The duck was really good. It was a sizeable portion of meat served on top of rice that was mixed with some of the duck gravy. The meat had great flavor and coupled with the gravy made for a wonderful dish. I found the noodle soup was a bit lacking in almost all areas. The soup stock was boring and didn’t have much of a flavor and the wontons were a bit over cooked(a bit mushy). The only other element to the dish was noodles which were ok. So in short stick to the rice dishes. I will be going back to try out the other dishes on the menu and the other restaurants in the ASSi mart.

This place was a shocker. Sky BBQ is a small family-owned Cantonese/Chinese restaurant in the middle of Assi plaza on Pleasant Hill. And… …well let me cut straight to the chase. Their roasted pressed duck. Never in my life would I imagine finding the best Cantonese pressed duck I’ve ever had in a small restaurant in Atlanta, and I’m super picky with my duck. The pressed duck(«pei pa duck» in Cantonese) got its name from the way chefs open up the duck and flatten it while roasting and seasoning the bird(as compared to the regular roast duck where the bird is not cut open or flattened), lending it a more lean and crispy texture than regular roasting methods. The meat on the pressed duck at Sky BBQ is juicy and the skin is crispy with the perfect aroma of a pressed roast duck done right. It’s served with a special sauce on the side that brings out the flavor even more — don’t go overboard though or else you’ll mask the duck’s natural flavor. Be sure to eat it right away as that’s when the skin is at its crispiest. The version here is better or at least just as good as the roast ducks that you’ll find in San Fran, LA, Vancouver, even Hong Kong and Macau. I know. I was surprised too. Other than the duck the crispy roast pork is good as well. Their dry beef chow fun is done right also and is not too greasy. A couple of my friends have tried other menu items and have liked them, although I haven’t taste tested most of them since I can’t get away from the pressed duck. They also have various soy sauce«lo shui» meat and tofu items on display that, if anything else, assured me that the owners are serious about their food(these are hard to make). When you get here, immediately see if they have any more pressed duck available since they run out toward the latter part of the day. Order some either served over rice or by itself and thank me later. Recommendations: Roasted pressed duck, crispy roasted pork, dry beef chow fun.

Hands down, the best BBQ Pork and Roast Duck! It’s definitely a hidden gem so I’m spreading the words! They have roast duck, duck tongues, pork, tofu etc… You can order a whole roasted pig there also. If you want extra duck sauce, it’s $ 1.00 a container, but well worth it. It’s delicious! For the duck tongues, you have to wait 10 – 15 minute to cook but really worth the wait. I love how the lady chops my duck. If you eat enough roast duck, chopping is kind of a big deal… There’s this meat to bone ratio that she’s gotten down, I’m not kidding

A genuine Hong-Kong-style bbq restaurant tucked in the corner of the Assi Market off Pleasant Hill. Finally, a refreshing taste of authentic Chinese cuisine in the midst of non-authentic Chinese restaurants all over the city. Hands down the best pressed duck you will find in the entire city, even comparable to the way they make it in Hong Kong. I can’t order duck anywhere else now because no other place comes even close in comparison. Be sure to go early since they sell out of it by the afternoon. Their bbq pork and roasted pork dishes are a must try as well, but my recommendation is to always get it with a side of duck. If you are feeling adventurous, try the other specialty dishes they have on display, you pretty much can’t go wrong.
