Love this place! The stylists are very kind, never rush, and does a very great job of envisioning the look you came in and was aiming for. Do set appointment because they are always busy. Even though they do take walk-in, the wait can be quite awhile. The prices are reasonable and you will definitely leave happy :)

They are the best! I asked for a really complicated hair cut which I designed myself as a little sketch and somehow they were able to do it. And I was explaining it on English too! Plus, they gave me a little head massage and it was so relaxing. They are super professional. A++

If you’re Korean, I imagine you’ll get great service — every Korean/Asian client I observed was treated like royalty. If you’re American? You won’t be greeted, you’ll be ignored, your stylist will be unapologetically late and try to hike up the prizes all the while being extremely patronizing. Go to Pika Pika instead — their prices are slightly lower(well, the same, they just don’t try to make them higher depending on what nationality you are), high quality service and the best part? Their employees aren’t racist.

My go to place for a haircut! Jayna is awesome. They carefully shampoo your hair before the cut and it’s so incredibly relaxing. Jayna is meticulous and double checks, triple checks to make sure you look good. It’s now $ 35 for a women’s hair cut. I have straight, long thick black hair, so it usually takes close to 45 minutes. If you don’t want a hair disaster, make an appointment with Jayna!

Tony is the best hair stylist ever, I have had him style my hair several times & he was always very impressive with his skills. Also he makes very good conversation to keep the customers entertained.

Originally I had wanted to get my haircut at Emily J but they were booked so I headed to Scissorhands. I’ve had several haircuts here before and I’ve loved every single cut. However, the one thing I always take away from here is that I absolutely hate having to interact with the receptionists and some stylists. They’ve made me feel very uncomfortable during almost every visit. Today I had my hair caught in the blow dryer and I saw the stylist try to discreetly snip that off. No apology or look of remorse. Instead the two stylists drying my hair laughed. I’ve also been told on another visit that I should just get a haircut and no wash/dry since they were busy. I noticed that they had multiple empty seats. I asked if the price would be reduced a bit and the receptionist said they would charge the same price regardless. At that time the price was $ 40. Another moment that really annoyed me was when I mentioned I was surprised they had lowered the price. The female receptionist turned to her co-worker to whisper what I just said and they laughed. It definitely made me regret giving a big tip. At the end of the day if you’re willing to trade in what could’ve been a nice experience for a $ 35 cut then that’s all on you. I left the place with a cut that I loved but I felt like I was treated disrespectfully.

Worst place you can get your hair cut! I took a picture of exactly how I wanted my hair. I had beautiful long hair and the lady cut it all off into a short hair cut. It looks nothing like the picture I showed her. If you look around everyone in the place has the same hair cut and if u go here you will too.

It’s so unfortunate. I’ve been coming here for over 5 years but not the same anymore. Owner Tony’s skill is amazing for its price however I just cannot stand everybody else’s «I’m doing your favor attitude». Hope he just open his individual salon.

Don’t go here! My boyfriend had a haircut there, and when he was done, I thought the bang was a bit long and asked if the hair stylist can make it shorter. The hairstylist told us that we would be charged twice if she did the trimming! Unbelievable! I will never go there again!

I’m a regular here, started coming here 2 years ago after a few recs from friends. If you’re Asian like me, it’s pretty hard to find a suitable hair salon. I’ve tried countless say American-run barber shops, but they can never get my hair right. The good thing about going to these Korean hair salons is that they’re familiar with that kinda straight, black hair and know how to work with it. I guess I’m kinda lucky, because all my experiences have been great here. A lot of people complain that the service is lacking towards non-Koreans, but I never found that the case. I’m Chinese and speak zero Korean(does watching k-dramas count?), but my first time there went smoothly and eventually started reserving for Jayna. As for guys, it’s $ 20 for a simple trim. They’re definitely qualified as hair salons, I know they go to hair styling conventions or something(wanted to get a haircut one weekend but they were out). If you don’t speak Korean, bring a picture of a hair style you want. I CAN’T STRESSTHISENOUGH. The hair stylist can’t get it right(esp if there’s a language barrier) unless they understand, and visuals are the best for that. After the trim, they wash your hair for you. These were honestly some of the better hair washes I’ve had for a salon, most of the time they massage your head thoroughly and always ask if the temperature’s fine. Then, they hair-dry and ask if you want them to style it for you, I always say yes haha. For $ 20, Scissor Hands is one of the cheaper Korean hair salons in the area and I honestly think it’s great. The service is always nice and understandable when I go. If you don’t speak Korean like me, just make sure to bring a pic of the hairstyle you want the first time you go. My stylist is always Jayna, if you wanted any recs. I know 1 visit can make or break your experience, but most of my haircuts have been consistent here.

I am very disappointed: Korean Acid straight perm done by Japanese stylist. (Product is good if job is done properly) 1) Stylist did not respect client’s request or not even listen. I requested straight cut my bang, but she cut shaggy instead. 2) Last time, was a year ago, I had Japanese/Acid straight perm, stylist put perm-chemical on my hair and left me alone for long time without checking a single time. While I was left alone, she was cutting someone else’s hair and chatting with him. I had to wait she finish his hair, finally she rinsed off chemical. Needless to say, perm chemical was too strongly into my hair and it made my hair really rough. It was shabby! Very unprofessional. 3) I asked her to fix it or treat it. She refused to take a responsibility, said my hair was not strong enough. Then why did she left chemical that long. (Later I found out from my old friend, is a stylist that perm chemical too strong. And I was treated poorly.) 4) I was offered the touch up is $ 150(was verbal, not written) within a year. I was hoping to work it out this time and went back last week. She changed me $ 250. I mentioned $ 150, she show attitude and said«That is the price in Japan(not here)». Also said«Depends on the length». Well…, for only root part touch up, is the length matter? I thought. Ok, her excuse is unprofessional, uh? For $ 250, I could almost gone to someone else for as a new. 5) This time, before she started touch up, I had told her my complaint in very friendly tone. She didn’t like it and refused to hearing it. Whole time I was there, she shows angry attitude toward me. I was very uncomfortable. Before I went back for touch up, many Japanese friends warned me to not go there, for poor quality of service. I should have taken their advice. I was hoping I could work it out with stylist, but I am betrayed. I will never, ever go back. Only nice thing she did was trimmed my daughter’s bang for almost nothing, without appointment.

They did very very bad service and their attitude was also extremely rude. The young lady used the sprinkler towards my face and clothes when shampooing my hair, and then i was feeling like taking a shower within clothes. My face and clothes were all saturated in water, but they just said her was newer and such things usually happened, and nearly did nothing. Why such accidence happened to us customers so often? I can’t understand. I made a haircut appointment for 5pm and not received the service until 6pm; however it only took 15 minutes to get my haircut. The hair designer worked so quickly because there was some old customer waiting for this hair designer. I think every customer should obtain the same service, but they didn’t obey this. This was the baddest experience.

Customer service by reception can be lacking but the stylist who cut my 15 month old son’s hair was quick, efficient and did a great job with his hair. A few days have passed and his hair is growing in very nicely, looking polished and stylized. Thumbs up.

The day after my wedding, I decided to get my hair chopped off because I had grown my hair out really long for my wedding. I went to my usual place(not here) in the early morning to get my haircut and I should’ve left when I noticed that all the young, hip hairstylists were gone and replaced with 40– somethings that were trying to appear cool and young. But, I always got my haircut at this place so I thought why not. Bad decision. The new lady botched my haircut so bad that even my mom told me she could’ve given me a better haircut than what I had. My mom! I had to get my hair fixed so I decided to try out Scissors Hands(in walking distance from the place that messed up my hair). I was skeptical with anyone touching my hair at this point but I was also desperate to get my haircut looking decent. I walked into Scissors Hands and told them my sob story and they were understanding and told me not to worry, «we will fix this.» I ended up with Jayna, who has the coolest hairstyle and color ever. I told her what had happened and asked her to fix it without making my hair any shorter than it was. She was very honest and straight forward with me and told me she had to shorten the length some to fix the mess. I decided to trust her and I am glad I did. She turned a mess of a haircut to something my husband LOVES! Jayna worked wonders with her shears and I left with a smile. Thanks Jayna! It’s safe to say I’ve found a new hairstylist =) I will definitely be coming back to Scissor Hands.

Today was my first time trying out Scissorhand because my usual hair stylist is out of town until April. I had an appointment for 3pm but didn’t get taken care of until 3:50pm. They were pretty busy. I had my color and cut done by Jay and he did an amazing job. I noticed his coloring technique and can tell that he is very skilled. I asked for chocolate brown with subtle highlights and he did it perfectly. My hair cut looks nice, wish there were more layers near my face but I’ll let him know next time :) it was his first time working with my hair and he did an impressive job. A bit pricey compared to my usual stylist but very worth it because it came out looking amazing.

I would get my hair cut and dye at Pika Pika, but the person I wanted was booked all week of me coming back to GA. So, I decided to go to scissor hands. I got Garham. I got a hair cut and a highlight. It was okay the first week until my dye from the root faded. I dont live in GA, so I cant go back and complain or get a redo. The color was nice and the cut was okay still my hair was too long. He curled my hair after he cut and I wouldn’t tell. I might not come back.

I have basically two haircuts. I cut it really short like Caesar and then spike it. Then, I let it grow out cause I’m too lazy and cheap to get a haircut. I call this«the gel it like crazy to look neat» cut. Anyway, after constant grief from the people I work with, I finally decided to get a haircut. Although, to be fair, it’s only been 6 weeks since my last cut and I usually make it last 2 months. I was told to try unga but scissor hands had better reviews on Unilocal(applause! plug). It is located in a small strip mall next to suno just outside of the hmart plaza in Duluth. The place is big and could’ve easily accommodated 20 patrons. My stylist was Andy or maybe it was tony. Anyway, he was quite amazing. He does this thing with the clippers that you’ve got to experience. Also, they wash you hair twice. Once before the cut and then after. He barely spoke English but this guy knows his way around a pair of scissors. He then styled my hair with wax and I’ve never looked better. Also, I realized today that I should use wax instead of gel. Overall, a great experience. I’m definitely going back.

It seems that every time I visit Scissor Hands, they make me a far more happier person when I leave with a new cut. That’s because they are consistent and professional. It really seems like they know their stuff and it seems to be proven with pictures of all their visits to hair conventions. It’s rare that I would give full five stars to a hair salon because of communication issues between me and the stylist. Once a groomer at Scissor Hands sees a picture of a type of style you’re aiming for, they’ll make it look just how you imagined it. It’s one of those places that continue to strive for better work and better customer service. I cannot rant about this place enough. The only gripe I seem to have with this salon is the wait on weekends and that isn’t even that long. The longest wait was maybe an hour and with plenty of things to do around the area. The location is extremely convenient though parking can be an annoyance on the busier days. Oh and did I mention? The pricing is unbeatable for what they do. An absolute steal. I’m sure this will be my salon for quite some time and I’m happy to be a client of theirs.

Ordinarily, I’d go to Pika Pika for my haircut, but since my boyfriend was getting his usual cut by Han, I decided to tag along. Hearing that Han also does women’s cuts, I decided to give him a try. Han is meticulous about cutting and trimming. He gave me the bangs I wanted(side swept in the front) and also layered my hair the way I like it. He probably could have put in more layers and thinned out the top, but hey, this was something a little different. He probably could’ve cut it a little shorter, but I’d rather have hair that’s too long than too short. I will say that there were two steps to his cutting. First, he trimmed my hair while it was wet, then he blow-dried it and cut it again when it was dry. It took almost the better part of an hour to be done, but again, he was careful. I might go back to him in a few more months. Otherwise, Scissorhands does a good job of keeping their shop clean. You’ll hardy see piles of hair on the floor. Another strange thing I noticed is that it seems like there are more men on staff and more male clients. I don’t think it matters too much as long as they cut well.
