My husband and I went on Saturday evening and found a decent variety. We had never tried macaroons and heard rave reviews about this place. We were excited to try it and didn’t really have any expectations. Needless to say, we left disappointed. We tried blueberry, Nutella, salted caramel, pistachio and the rose one. They were basically marshmallow treats. The actual cookie didn’t taste like much and the filling tasted like marshmallow spread. Overall we would try them again, macaroons not Mac Lab, but not at $ 2 a piece.

Love, love, love this place. The macarons are always delicious and it’s one of the only places left in Duluth that has macaron sandwiches. The interior décor is extremely cute, yet simple so I love sitting there to read a book or do something relaxing.

This bakery is an adorable place to get some work done, chat with friends, grab some coffee, and share some desserts. The whole café is immaculate and the customer service is excellent. I would have loved to give five stars as I really love this place, but I think some things could be tweaked. The seating is pretty limited– only six tables, but it seems like all have access to an outlet. There are a few chairs in the corner to your left when you walk in where they could add a table or two to allow for more seating during peak hours. I ordered six Macarons which range from $ 2-$ 2.20. Their Macarons are on the larger size, so I don’t feel this is overly expensive. As for coffee, I feel this is a bit overpriced. A latte costs $ 3.75, but if you want to add flavoring(vanilla, hazelnut, etc), it costs an additional 0.60 cents(I ordered vanilla). This additional charge is not listed anywhere in the menu and I didn’t find out about it until after I received my receipt. Other cafes I’ve been to cost $ 3.75-$ 4.00 for a latte with the inclusion of more unique flavors(matcha green tea latte, honey and lavender, cinnamon, etc). They also sell other unique items such as macaron sundaes, macaron ice cream sandwiches, pâté a choux, red velvet cupcake, green tea cheesecake, crème brûlée, cookies, etc. The wifi password is over by the counter on a small black chalkboard sign. The restroom(one-person restroom) is located all the way to the right(when you walk in) next to the furthest table. If you’re drinking your coffee there, you leave it on your table and a staff member will come to clean it up after you leave. A couple of people ordered the macaron sundae while I was here and they pour liquid nitrogen around it so it starts smoking everywhere– pretty cool but costs a steep $ 14. I will definitely come back to this café — wish they opened one closer to me as it’s somewhat far of a drive coming from west midtown. The Macarons were delicious as well– not too sweet which is how I like them(plus I don’t feel too guilty eating a few haha). The filling is a light whipped cream like texture, which imp, is way better than that rich buttercream filling.

I was really excited to try Mac Lab, but overall I was a bit disappointed in the macarons. The ones I ordered didn’t taste very fresh and the flavors were just lacking a bit. They weren’t horrible, but I am definitely not rushing back.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because their macarons are definitely over priced. This is a super cute place, staff is friendly/helpful, but even LA offers more decent priced macarons. I did enjoy the strawberry, raspberry, blueberry macarons. I’m more of a fruit person.

Cute little clean place, the macarons were pretty good and at a normal price at $ 2 – 2.20 each. We got the green tea, elderflower, chocolate, and strawberry which had jam in it.

Sugar is my weakness… cakes, cookies, ice cream, and MacLab macarons! I’ve had quite a few from a number of different places. And the very first time I tried MacLab, I feel in love. Perfect little crunch with a soft center, not too chewy. Every time I go, I get every flavor, but the salted caramel is by far my favorite. The most recent times we went, I had one or two that I didn’t care for, but I am still a fan!

I kept on seeing this place every time I would drive by and finally decided to step inside and see what it was all about. I have never tasted macaroons before so it was new to me. First time I went I tried the Nutella, coffee, and pistachio. All three were absolutely delicious even if they were a little expensive. Never ordered anything other than macaroons so I can’t say how the rest of the food compares. Atmosphere is nice and calm. There is not that much seating so maybe it would be best to visit on non peak hours of you want to dine in. Overall nice quaint place and I will definitely be coming back for when the ice cream macaroons come in.

I’ve been wanting to try Mac Lab, although since it’s been open, I was unsure of what to expect. People have definitely been bringing down the hype because of the high standards and expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised by my dinnertime tea time. I ordered a thick chai latte to go with my two macarons: earl grey and rose lychee. One of my friends ordered the black sesame and the green tea macarons, while another chose the green tea cheese cake. Everything we tried was amazing, flavor wise. My favorite flavor of the night was the green tea cheesecake. Smooth and creamy, slightly bitter from the green tea but sweet in all the right ways. The earl grey tea was subtle until you hit the center of the macaron, where it packs a black tea punch. The rose lychee was also subtle and slightly sweet, which I enjoyed. The green tea and black sesame were just those things — green tea and sesame. But good all the same. I enjoyed sipping on my rich(whole milk only) chai tea latte. It warmed my belly on this rainy day. It’s a little pricey but mostly worth the cost. There’s limited seating, so I suggest coming by on a slow time — during a meal time, near closing time, or a weekday during work hours. Definitely worth a try or two… Or three!

Love this little bakery joint. On weekdays, it makes for a great study spot. I’m here right now and it’s 5pm and I’m here chilling with one other customer. I love how they have outlets at every booth, too! One downfall would be if it’s busy, there are only 6 tables because of the limited space. The environment is super light and spring-y. I love the white furniture and how bright it makes the place. The fresh flowers on the tables bring for a nice touch, too. The macaroons are so delicious! They’re not too sweet, which is like a huge thing for me. They’re perfectly made! I love the variety of flavors they have. My favorites are black sesame, Nutella, salted caramel, and blueberry! Their coffee is not bad either. I always go for a caramel latte and it’s always made to perfection! MacLab offers more desserts as well, but I just like to stick to the basics lol. And obviously I love macarons, so I can’t help but come back lol.

Been wanting to come here for a long time! Finally got the chance to this past weekend. This place is rockin!!! It’s in a big mall so my friend and I had trouble finding it, but it was worth the circling around! They have such delicious, high quality macaroons. They are a bit pricey though, but way different from any of the other macaroons I’ve ever eaten. I got the Black Sesame, Green Tea, Passionfruit, and Earl Grey and they were all so good. I will definitely be back and I really recommend this place!

I’m updating my review to 5 stars! A while ago, I stepped inside Mac Lab and tried their special: strawberry champagne. GOODNESS, it was delicious! It was so good that I decided to order my wedding macarons from Mac Lab. I asked them to make the same strawberry champagne macarons with gold paint splattered on top. Lan was very helpful and is making sure the colors of the macarons match my wedding palette. I cannot wait to see how they turn out! I also like how they continue to add new items to their menu and improve. It seems like they even started making donuts!

Really cute place to check out for french desserts. We had the mini cream puffs and they were very light and airy, not overly sweet at all which was nice. Would love to try more from here!

After a few unlucky attempts of visiting, I finally had an opportunity last night with some girlfriends. Please note the business is closed on Tuesdays. We ordered the Pistachio Macaroon Ice Cream along with the Red Velvet Cupcake and several macaroons(please refer to my photos). Overall consensus: 1. Pistachio Macaroon Ice Cream is a must have. You can really taste the pistachio flavor that is perfectly balanced :) 2. The individual pistachio macaroon does not truly have the pistachio flavor in comparison to its macaroon ice cream counterpart. 3. Favorite macaroon flavors that we thought had the perfect taste: Green Tea & Passion Fruit. 4. The Red Velvet Cupcake was delicious as well because the cream cheese and the overall cupcake were not too sweet! Surprising since the overwhelming amount of red velvet cupcakes are too sweet. I recently went to another bakery called Crema Espresso Gourmet in Dunwoody, GA, and this place is certainly a contender due to its variety and proximity. Customer Service: If it’s your first time coming in, look for Sam, the primary guy behind the cashier. He was awesome, friendly, knowledgeable about the various desserts, and made our overall experience at Mac Lab wonderful! Major props! Thank you Sam! Goal next time: Order the Mac Lab Sundae :) I’ll edit my review once I’ve tried this massive dessert with more pictures!

Neat, trendy, lovely store. I like the inspiring idea and the presentation, come here for some sweets and take a sit after grocery at Great Wall mkt. Mac Lac def got its own niche market when compared to other bakeries which maintain a wide range of stuff. I don’t think the Parisian flagship Macaron store –Laduree would open here in Atlanta, so, go be the No.1, Mac Lab!!

While sitting around the dinner table, I mentioned that I happened to learn about this place on Unilocal and they apparently have Macaron Ice Cream sandwiches. Well, everyone’s ears perked right up! And when we realized that it was only ten minutes from the house, we knew we had to go ASAP. This place is absolutely adorable! And their macarons are bigger than the dime-sized ones I’ve seen other places, so the $ 2 price tag almost makes sense. But let’s please be serious, the star of the show is obviously the Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches. They offered about seven different flavors, two of which were sold out — Mango and Chocolate. I opted for Nutella, which had one brown macaron and one orange macaron. Biting into it was beautiful — there was a soft chew to the macaron and the ice cream had the perfect amount of gig(it’s so annoying when the ice cream is over-frozen and too hard)! I also really enjoyed the flavor — subtle at first, simple and sweet, and finishing with that hazelnutty roundness. I would totally visit this place again and try a different flavor of ice cream! And maybe one of those Black Sesame Crème Brûlée!

Ohhhh, here’s that place! I wasn’t even trying to find Mac Lab, but stumbled across it while I was out and about. I’m not sure if apple has any influence on the store, but it’s pretty immaculate in terms of cleanliness, and the all white interior makes the colors of the macaroons pop. Mac Lab knows its strengths, and doesn’t seem to have a little of this and a little of that, like other stores. Cupcakes, macaroons, cookies, coffee and other beverages are what they’re good at, so they stick to their guns, and I like that. I got myself one pistachio macaroon and was told that the green tea macaroon was a popular selection too, so I took that one also, along with a basic cup of coffee. The Macaroons both cost $ 2 each, as do all but one or two(I forget which ones cost more, but they’re only $ 2.25). You can’t help but smile when you bite into the crispy outside, and get a taste of the creamy inside. Neither of the macaroons I tried were too sweet, and went well with the fairly strong, but good coffee. Mac lab is found in the Mall corners shopping area, specifically in the same strip that holds LaTea, Ming bbq and Titan Comics, kinda across from the AT&T store and vision works. Since this is a huge strip, you’ve got tons of parking and multiple exits to pleasant hill, Satellite blvd or Venture drive. I was informed that the macaroons, and everything else are cooked fresh, and when I couldn’t find any splenda for my coffee, they went running to search for some. Very friendly, helpful staff with a great product is a win all the way around for me. Ultimately I really enjoyed my experience here, and while I likely wont frequent Mac lab due to the price per macaroon, i’ll 100% make this my go to «treat» when i’m in need of a macaroon fix.

I really want to give Mac Lab more stars… but after visiting them three times and always leaving the place unimpressed and wish I didnt spend my money here… I made up my mind. I probably won’t come back here unless my friend want to go. From my three visits I have tried the following: –Sesame crème brûlée –Mango, Rose Lychee, Green Tea, Nutella, Earl Grey, Vanilla, and sesame macarons.(2 $ a piece) –Mac Lab’s seasonal macaron ice cream sundae(12.95) Out of everything that I have tried… I wasn’t impressed with any of them. The sesame crème brûlée was kind of bitter to me. I took two bite and didn’t want to eat anymore. All of the macarons are a okay… kind of hard and stale… on some of them. I guess it depends on what time you purchased them. And finally the macaron ice cream sundae was too disappointing. For the price… I felt like it wasn’t justifiable. The ice cream inside the macaron was melting really fast when the cashier placed it down on our table. The macaron shell was really hard. The flavor wasn’t there. I felt like for 13 $…it should be better. Overall… I would stick to macaron queen for my macaron cravings.

What an adorable café! I’ve been meaning to come here for quite some time and got a chance to visit because we just finished dinner next door at Ming’s BBQ. It’s a very clean space. We were craving a quick sweet treat so I selected the Pink Lemonade macaroon and my boyfriend tried the blueberry one. It was a pleasant surprise to bite into my macaroon and taste the«jelly surprise» inside. The macarons were baked perfectly. Each bite tasted fresh, chewy and the flavors were exactly what you expect. We both regret not trying their crème brule but that dessert option looked delicious too! If you’re in the Duluth area and are craving some quality macarons, this is definitely the spot to visit. Sure, each macaron was about $ 2.00 but it was worth every bite! They are located in the Mall Corners shopping center across from Gwinnett Mall and right next to Ming BBQ. Plenty of parking available and I look forward to future visits when in the Duluth area.
