Visiting from Florida I couldn’t wait to visit Famous Daves. The Server was excellent and the food came fast, this is where it goes down hill. I ordered the brisket and it was so dry and overcooked no amount of sweet and sassy sauce could help. It looked like it was cooked days ago and reheated time and time again. I wrapped it up to take it home for the dog. (if I was paying for it someone might as well enjoy it.). Even my retriever who eats rocks and sticks spit it out. This is how I know it was bad. So disappointed as I was looking forward to Daves since buying my airline ticket months ago.

Albeit, Famous Dave’s is a chain and some might snub it, this location was a great experience! (Note: I’ve also reviewed the Minnetonka location and it was dismal)
We went here on a whim and it was really good! The portions were big, the food was hot. My kids loved running around the restaurant looking for different bottles of sauces they could try. They are connected onto a big arcade, fun zone, so my kids also loved bumming around while we waited. The service was good. I’ve been to several Dave’s locations in the past and this was the best one! Please continue to give generous portions and let the kids be kids and we’ll be back.
I reviewed the Minnetonka Location and your location is far superior to that one. Maybe send your manager down there and show them a few tricks on how to produce a fun easy going atmosphere with great food. Bravo to your team there.

I love famous daves, but had a bad experience after my discovering of my wheat allergy. I usually would check menus before ordering, but I came to find there is wheat in nearly everything you wouldn’t suspect. classic ribs /​sauce, the BEANS, etc. I got sick only because of my allergy. Not their fault, but I went back to see what I COULD eat next time and was disappointed at how little. love them if you’re not allergic, but I can’t hardly go there anymore. :(So that’s why my rating.

The boy is nice and the rib is very good. You can tell they did it right in the oven. I also tried chicken. It is a bit too dry but the cook timing is right.
We two spent $ 60 including tips and can not finish all. It is a good place for meat lovers.

This is the restaurant that always pleases everyone in the family. My family has eaten here many times and we have never ha a bad experience. We often have had the family platter; It is a nice sampling of many things. The portion sizes are large, therefore we usually go home with leftovers. On our last visit we all had sandwiches. I had the Cajun Chicken sandwich. It was much better thaN it sounded! Everyone else in my family had hamburgers. My oldest son had a Dave’s favorite and said it was the best burger he ever had. The burgers had pieces of brisket in them! Yum! We always love to eat at Famous Dave’s!

I love their burnt ends lunch plate. Hubby and I went for Father’s Day and had the sampler — too much for two people but we had lots of leftovers. The ribs were great — chicken was good but not much different than I can make.

Ok, I am not a BBQ expert, however as I go through life I will hopefully search the world for the best BBQ establishments. For now I will need to settle for Famous Dave’s. It is good, I love the BBQ beans, the ribs, the pulled pork and rib tips. I also like the array of sauces.

I had eaten at Famous Daves as a kid and remember the food being really good. With new dietary restrictions (gluten free), I had decided to give it try as an adult. I had always heard good things about Famous Daves and their labeling of gluten free, and had assumed they would be a ‘gluten free friendly’ restaurant. Nope!
We came into the Duluth location during a cold and early lunchtime and were sat immediately. Our server had some knowledge of gluten free items, and gave us their allergens book to look over. As we found out none of the BBQ meat was gluten free. They all had some form of gluten in the molasses and the (apparently) soy sauce used. The only appetizing entrée we could find was a BBQ chicken, which was only decent (not to die for like the ribs would have been). Service was somewhat slow, but it was also pretty early (they had just opened).

Very good barbecue that we’ve come to expect from the Famous Dave’s chain. Service is just okay at this location, with servers sometimes slow to take care of the bill. The restaurant is connected to an old warehouse that’s been converted into an indoor amusement park, making this a particularly good stop for kids when the weather isn’t great.

We walked out of this restaurant after waiting 10-​minutes for service on a day and time when there were less than three tables of customers. Also, if you do not like stained and worn menu cards to ruin your appetite then stay away. When you are a paying customer you should not be subjected to this kind maltreatment.

What can I say? Every once in a while you’ve just got to have a Dave’s fix. While it can’t compare to the authentic BBQ in Memphis or KC or Carolina, I’ve never had a meal I didn’t love at this Dave’s. Bring the whole family.

In the modern world of medicore to poor yet overpriced chain restaurants Famous Dave’s stands out. The only chain barbeque eatery that actually smokes their meats instead of steaming them and adding liquid smoke. And it works well: all their barbeque meats we have tried have been quite tasty and high quality. This is the only chain house we will frequent.
