Dollar General Store

Since I’m a bargain hunter, I thought that I would like Dollar General. I think I’ve only been to a few Dollar General stores in my life, but I have never found anything that I really wanted at any of them.
Recently, my brother and I wanted to kill some time in Duluth, so we decided to stop by this Dollar General. It’s located in the same building as the Stevi B’s on Pleasant Hill Road, so it’s convenient to check out if you’re already in the area.
As soon as I walked in, I realized that things weren’t as cheap as I had expected. I glanced at the makeup section and noticed that most of the items cost more than a dollar, and I thought that some cost even more than regular stores. Food items seemed to cost just about the same as regular grocery stores if not slightly more.
I also browsed through the toys and other miscellaneous items, but didn’t see anything that caught my eye aside from the generic Jenga game. I don’t think even that cost a dollar.
Overall, this Dollar General store deserves 2 stars because I just didn’t think it was a great dollar store. It was fairly neat and organized, but I am accustomed to going to dollar stores where most of their items actually cost just a buck. I may return if I’m absolutely bored out of my mind after eating at Stevi B’s, but it isn’t likely that I will.

This DG is a horrible mess. It is in a high traffic area and isn’t expected to be kept well, but it could look much better than this. Watch your step as you might find a bin of generic merchandise on the floor. It’s a scary sight, sometimes.
