The Spicy Beef Soup = A+ I’ve driven past this place a hundred times and never stopped by. All that time I could have been having effin’ delicious, proper Spicy Beef Soup… Check the place out. That stuff is serious.

Just awful. The food wasn’t good at all and the staff was rude. There is NO reason to ever eat here when Ming’s BBQ is about 5 minutes away. The only reason they are getting even one star is because Unilocal will not allow a starless review.

I had their three BBQ item rice dish and it was great, really generous meats. Personally, I don’t like the soft chicken meat coz it feels fatty and it come with an off color. Waitress is very friendly and good attitude.

I love duck! The Scoutmob write up was so enticing I had to try this place. I give this place an A+ for effort. Cute restaurant with friendly, attentive wait staff. I ordered the half bbq duck which is only served with rice. As the menu offers no vegtable dishes as sides or entrees, I asked if they could make some sauteed broccoli. The duck was a truly impressive site. Large cut pieces of beautiful golden duck. Unfortunately it looked much better than it tasted. The skin was soggy and the meat was just luke warm as if it was hastily heated. Lots of fat still under the skin. It was more bone and skin than meat. I had to pull off the skin and scrape the remaining fat layer off the meat before eating. The order of broccoli was better than my $ 12.00 entrée but cost an unbelievable $ 9…not consistant with their pricing consdering their meat entrees start at $ 8.50. I probably won’t be back.

Excellent food!!! We just noticed this place on the way to Kroger’s. Beef noodle soup was excellent. The roast pork was more flavourful and consistent than Ming’s. Went for two visits in two days. This is going to be a regular stop for us!

I don’t know what the naysayers are talking about. The food here is excellent and cheap compared to other places nearby The BBQ Pork rice plate was fabulous. The Beef Chow Fun was delish and the chicken rice plate special was eaten up by my kid who is a very picky eater Service was excellent and everything seemed clean to me. Recommend this place and would definitely go back

The only thing that I can say is… just don’t. You’re already only about 8 minutes away from Ming’s BBQ, do youself a favor and just go there. I got the honey bbq pork combo plate and an order of dumplings with a sweet tea. Literally nothing was appetizing. NOTEVENTHESWEETTEA. This place I don’t think does much business and I believe you can tell in the food. The sweet tea had that old taste to it when it starts being slightly fermented because it’s more than a day old. I had to send it back for a sprite. Dumplings: Do your yourself a favor. Save $ 5 and just go down to H Mart and buy the frozen bag of them… because that’s exactly what they serve here. BBQ combo: Meh. The meat didn’t taste fresh at all. Nothing at all stood out. The rice, and I love a plain steamed rice, even tasted off. Seriously. Just avoid it and go to Ming’s.

Awesome food and great service! I had the thick noodles with beef and a plate of beef with broccoli and they were both really tasty with authentic Asian flavor that I always appreciate(as a Taiwanese reviewer). Good meat to vegetable ratio in their dishes. TONS of options on the menu(good selection on their lunch menu!). Honestly, I think of myself as a wannabe-beef-and-broccoli-connoisseur because I order it at every asian restaurant I go(so like at least 50 places) and I can say it is pretty much tied for best beef and broccoli I’ve ever tasted(the other place is a cantonese restaurant in Radford, VA). Guess those cantonese really know how to cook their beef and broccoli!

Okay Cantonese food. Similar to Ming’s bbq. We order some congee(chok) and it was okay. Felt like it was missing some flavor. The place was rather quiet for a Saturday afternoon with only one table.(Which was us) The place used to be some kind of fast food restaurant and it still resembled it. I personally didn’t feel comfortable or relaxed with how the interior of the restaurant looked. Food didn’t take long to make, but it could’ve been done faster since we were the only table. Service was alright.

Not impressed. The service was fast and staff seemed friendly but the food itself was sub-par. Both our orders were mostly cabbage with a disproportionately small amount of meat. Sauces were bland and runny. Overall serving size as small. There are several better choices for Asian food in the immediate area.

In my order of Kung pao that was perfectly seasoned was a bug that blended right in with the peppers and the carrots. It was a stubborn bug that would not go away even after arguing with the manager for five minutes. The bug was on «the surface» so it wasn’t their fault apparently. Even if the bug’s wings were sauced up and unable to fly. I was offered 20% off because I finished my first plate(which I of course threw up). At the end of the argument the manager told me a story that this happened to him at a Taco Bell once and he still paid full price. He then came back with a bill half off with a fortune cookie and another kettle of hot tea knowing that this would be my last time here. He didn’t care and I am disgusted. When I first came here I had the roast duck and it was delicious but after this experience I will never come back. Absolutely disgusting to find a bug playing in your food with its wings glued down by sauce. Horrifying. 20% off? Really?

I am very happy to have this new Chinese establishment in an area that is dominated by Korean restaurants. Service is excellent. They offer free hot tea, which is a great touch and reminds me of Chinese restaurants in the Northeast. I came for lunch, but look forward to trying some dinner options and BBQ options on my next visit. I tried the kung pao chicken for lunch. It was very fresh with high quality chicken, but it didn’t «wow» me and it wasn’t spicy. I personally prefer the chicken in kung pao to be a little more shallow fried with lots of red chilis rather than the chicken getting cooked wet in a sauce. The wonton soup was okay, but lacking in salt and nothing special. The«Egg roll» was more like a thin fried spring roll. The appetizer offerings were rather limited. I was hoping that they’d offer scallion pancakes and some other options. I frequent the Great Wall supermarket food court. So far, my fav Chinese in this area to date has come from there.

Delicious. Took home very good hot and sour soup with great crispy noodles. Had shrimp with bok choy and Chinese broccoli with a ginger sauce and 1 $ extra for good brown rice. Before rice cost 16 $, Ate for dinner for 2 nights. Give this place a try because I want it to stay in my neighborhood. The chef is the same chef that made Little Szechwan so famous. I did not want spicey. He made dish just for me! Very good. We plan to try it for lunch soon.

This place is great! One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants around. Chef Kong does an awesome job and we will definitely be back to eat his food. I came here with my family and we started off with hot and sour soup and egg drop soup. We also got an order of pot stickers and springs rolls — all great! We followed this up with orders of Roast Duck, Fish Fillet with Ginger, and Shrimp Pan Fried Noodle. Yum! This place is worth the drive to get here(from sandy springs) and I’d definitely recommend stopping by to anyone in the area. Thanks again for an awesome meal Chef Kong!

Big Wong Bbq and Grill is simply one of the best and most authentic Chinese restaurants around! The menu offers a wide selection of appetizing meals ranging from Chinese barbeque to noodle soups and everything in between. The food is excellent(I highly recommend the spicy beef noodle soup!), but the service itself would keep me coming back for more. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Our waitress even brought my table free egg rolls when we couldn’t decide between egg rolls and spring rolls! After our meal, Chef Kong introduced himself and we had a great discussion about his style of Chinese cooking and even about current events. Chef Kong has quite a following. Two patrons entered the restaurant after my group was seated. I heard the two individuals say that they have been«following Chef Kong for over 20 years.» Needless to say, I was very impressed!

The best Chinese food I’ve had in years… The last time I had Chinese this good was at Little Szechuan on Buford Highway(under the ownership of Chef Kong). My husband and I decided to stop in and give Big Wong a try on a whim and oh my goodness– we found Chef Kong! They just opened the beginning of January and we had been wanting to give it a try. The menu has more a of a Cantonese flair with amazing BBQ items. We started with hot tea and were given a plate of fresh pickled cabbage, carrots, and onion. Great chilled, sweet and sour flavors to balance the BBQ to come. We ordered the Spicy Fish and Basil Soup to start. The broth was perfectly spicy and had a wonderful richness to it. There were plenty of flaky chunks of fish as well as a half dozen shrimp. Definitely enough to share or make a meal out of. The best part was the fresh basil leaves and chunks of tomato. This soup has some skillfully balanced flavors. For the entrée– I tried the 2 meats BBQ platter with roast duck and crispy pork belly. The meat comes on a bed of perfectly sticky white rice and steamed bok choy. It was heavenly. The juices from the oh-so-tender meat soak into the rice– making it nearly impossible to restrain yourself. The serving size was very gracious. My husband got the Szechuan Chow Mi Fen(pan-fried noodles with curry) and was delighted by the variety of meats and the subtle hint of curry. We chatted with Chef Kong for a while after our meal and he gave us two oranges to enjoy for dessert. We can’t wait to tell all of our friends about this place and will be back again and again!
