My husband, daughter, and I decided to get apps, drinks, and sushi rolls. The food was sub par, and we left still hungry(but my bill was $ 88). Also, I know this sounds petty, but the servers looked rough. I think it’s overly priced. There are too many good restaurants in the Outer Banks to waste money here. I was mad at myself for driving 25 minutes from Kill Devil Hills to go there.

Upon entering the premises the old décor reminded of me years past and the musty smell remained, however Kullen, our server, came to the rescue with a big smile and great, attentive service. Our party had 10 adults and 3 kids. The drinks were quick to be served and the margaritas had extra salt on them like the Atlantic Ocean. Most of us had wings for appetizers and they just had the right amount of spice. Kullen was quick to clear up plates and ask us if we needed more drinks. Our food was then and all came out as wanted. After lunch, we preceded to the dock to take pictures. The backdrop of the water provided a picturesque scene for the drunken, over indulged guests that we had become. Overall, I would only come back if I was to ever come back again to this small town called Duck.

The view of the sound and the fire is beautiful. The drinks are okay but the food is terrible. We had she crab soup and shrimp, they were terrible.

Awesome views. Awesome atmosphere. Good to great food. Mahi mahi was perfectly cooked. Sides were mass-produced. Coconut rice did stand on its own. Sorry but the 5 stars is reserved for above and beyond.

One of the worst dining experiences of my life. The wait was absurd. The food was beyond awful. I’d only return to have an overpriced beer at sunset.

ReAlly great views of the water. The specials are very good and the crab shack roll is amazing.

With the prices here, you should be walking away satisfied; but instead, walk away saying«eh». There’s nothing here that would make me come back, and my family agrees Service was terrible, my dinner was brought out with apps so I couldn’t eat with them when they got theirs Food was sub par, not worth the money they charge.

I had possibly the worst meal of my life at this place. As good as the waterfront setting is, the food and service was the exact opposite. Came here in mid-September, about an hour before closing. Ordered soup. Ate two bites. Done. Maybe the worst thing I ever tasted. Straight out of a package. Barely warm. Tasted old and crappy. I will not return.

I’m not quite sure but my family seems to make this a thing we have to do when we come here. We have to stop here for a dinner and a breakfast. After re-reading my review from my last visit, nothing should have surprised me about this place. In fact it was just about déjà vu. Driving up the road my stomach dropped as I saw where we were turning into. I have come to the realization that disappointment can happen at any time and that I should not be surprised by this. Much like last time when we entered we were greeted and had to wait. Not sure what is so hard about seating six adults and one child, but it looked very chaotic from our end. They walked into the main dining room and started to doubt themselves. It looked like an old Vaudeville skit we were watching. Move a table, put it back, look at each other, see a light bulb come on, bump into each other and then end up going in opposite directions. Ultimately what happened was that we were seated upstairs once again. At least this time we weren’t under the menacing chill of the air conditioning. Ordering was slow and misinterpreted. We ordered drinks from the part of the menu where you get to take the glass home with you. We specifically picked this menu up and showed it to the server for that purpose. What we got were drinks in regular cups. We had to remind him that our drinks came with glasses to take home. Mine, when it did arrive, was fine; my cousin’s on the other hand appeared to have a crack in it and some type of slimy junk in it. The service was just slow our whole time here. As for the food for dinner, I can’t complain about that. My BLT was amazing. Tons of crispy bacon on it and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. Putting this on ciabatta bread made it a great sandwich. I am also glad that I was able to pick the side for this as the onion rings were cooked perfectly and the sauce give to dip it in was amazing. Now, not to my surprise, we also stopped here for breakfast on the day we left here. Much like the last time we visited while on vacation we were able to sit downstairs and service was fairly quick. I opted for the breakfast tacos which were amazingly filling and a huge portion. Two flour tortillas with eggs, crumbled bacon and cheese inside. This also comes with a side of breakfast potatoes and I opted for bacon. I could have added all this to the tacos but decided to eat whatever fell off after with the potatoes left in the bowl. What was really unsettling this time around was the fact that there were a ton of flies in here. If you looked up they were everywhere on the ceiling. I know it is a hard thing to control when along a coastline and having the word«raw» in your business name, but there were flies everywhere. You spent 50% of your time protecting your food before you were able to finish. Next time, I might just skip this one.

Three adults two kids and we sat outside. Kids had grilled cheese and juice in cute whale cups. Adults had the jerk chicken sandwich, salad and pulled pork sandwich. We also had jerk shrimp and steamed clams. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. It was a nice relaxing lunch.

I would give this one star but the view is genuinely incredible. The hostesses were rude, the wait staff was slow and fairly inattentive and the food was pretty awful. At $ 20 avg per entrée you could probably get a better meal at a tgi Fridays. Honestly. Nothing we had here was actually good and most things weren’t seasoned or cooked properly. The beer was also warm, so I can’t even compliment them on a good drink. Definitely try a different place. We only really were willing to go for the views but you can get those all along the boardwalk and save the money and trouble on having a mediocre(at best) dinner.

Don’t ever go here. Starve first. I ordered the crab cakes and was in the restroom fir the night. The restaurant reminds of las vegas … way way off the strip. Kid’s meal was literally kraft mac and cheese out of the box with apple sauce still in plastic cup with the foil lid. The only nice thing i can say about the place was ‘the view’.

I was starving after driving 4.5 hours and waiting for our check in time. This was nearby so we grabbed something to eat here. My boyfriend had a chicken sandwich and fries that he said were good. And two coronas. We shared steamed clams and i had a frozen mango mimosa. It was OK. IVe had better. The steamed clams were normal steamed clams nothing fancy. I had shark bites which were over cooked and gross. My dad catches tuna and Mahimahi and has made shark bites at home before and they were much better. I didn’t finish them. I mentioned they tasted unusually fishy, even too fishy for someone who loves fish. I ended up getting food poisoning. I also had the she crab soup which wasn’t bad. Just a cup of soup. The first one was brought out with a hair on it. He didn’t notice and I noticed it before he even set it down. He brought me another with less in it. I kind of wonder if he just took the hair out… They did remove it from the bill. It was still a $ 60 bill. I know good beach food and this wasn’t it. I grew up in a beach town and my dad lives in a DE ocean town. This was a tourist trap for sure! And way over priced. It was also pretty dead at noon so maybe others read the reviews first. Total rookie move on our part!

Had dinner here over Memorial Day weekend and food was much better than 2.5 stars. Pimento cheese was average but steamed and fried shrimp were excellent! Would have enjoyed more. House salad was actually really good too. Our waiter Walter was polite, friendly and provided us great service! And the view was spectacular, even with the threat of rain. Would definitely come back if I can find a parking spot.

Had a great experience at this restaurant. Beautiful bayside seating is perfect for a dinner by the sunset. Had the conch fritters which were very good. Well seasoned and a good proportion of conch to filling ratio. The ginger siracha dipping sauce was delicious! Price was 9.99 instead of the listed 8.99 on Unilocal. Had the raw bar combo #1 with clams, oysters, and steamed shrimp. Oysters were certainly better than the clams, but all was delicious and well seasoned. Very friendly service too, and extremely knowledgable about the locality of seafood and portion sizes. Great experience overall!

Love everything about this place. The food is amazing and always fresh. There are plenty of drinks to choose from, wether you like craft beer or fruity tropical drinks. This is a must if you are in the area, and like the name the sunsets are breathtaking!

With the low score of this place… I took a chance I have taken a chance before and that too was a good experience(not always but atleast twice) so don’t let the stars always deter you from going in! My husband turned into this restaurant for us to grab lunch for the day. We ordered waters, onion rings(beer batter ALWAYS) and shark bites(really tuna bites but… I don’t make the menus) 4 of us ordered meals and that was a great introduction to what they had to offer. Out server was great and attentive. Refilling our waters as we waited and checking back on us occasionally. A kids shrimp dinner was ordered from the kids menu. It came with popcorn shrimp and a side. They were lightly breaded and tasty. I may have to make an effort to try all she crab soups that don’t state they are the best because this was a GREAT bowl of undeclared best she crab soup! It was so thick and flavorful that is would come back for that! I had fish and fries. Panko covered flounder– Ahh yum. The breading was so crisp with the soft flesh inside. A nice tasty lunch. Last was the avocado burger. Piled high with an guacamole and Sriracha sauce. My daughter left full! The inside had table seating and there was also seating available outside at a bar or patio. I did notice stairs heading up so there’s more seating up there but not sure if it’s for private parties. They have a pier and rent various boats for various prices and time frames. The pier does provide you with a enjoyable scenery while dining. No doubt they have some nice sunset pictures.
I would come back here and although I ate off the lunch menu I would be fine eating from that again. Maybe I came at the wrong time, day or too early in the season but the service and food was on point and deserved a 5 from me!

This place is one of the greatest places to have lunch, in the Outer Banks! Service is wonderful, the food is delicious, and you absolutely cannot beat the wonderful view of the bay. You can dine inside or outside, although in summer when the weather is hot outdoors, it does pay to eat indoors where it’s cool and comfortable. There poor boy sandwiches are outstanding, and we enjoyed both the shrimp po boy and oyster po boy sandwiches. We also enjoyed the seafood roll which is made of two or three different types of seafood in a split roll just as you would a lobster roll. Their specialty drinks are very nicely made, and the bartender has a very nice touch with the spirits. Their coleslaw is superior, made with a very light dressing, and very tiny, barely detectable pieces of pineapple, which brighten and freshen the flavor. Their pasta salad is very lightly dressed, never gloppy. And there remoulade sauce is a very nicely balanced condiment. It remains our absolute favorite lunchtime eatery in the Outer Banks.

As their name implies, great sunset views. Right on the water with great views. The outside décor has a Hawaiian feeling to it. Otherwise you’re looking at a 1 – 2 star dining experience. Food quality, portion size, selection, creativity, all below average. Throw in high priced drinks and you have very little to recommend this place. Definitely get the feeling that they’ve come to the realization that with the vacation crowd and great location they can do just fine without the above. After all, they’ll get plenty of first timers, but doubtful anyone would visit this place more than once.
