Beautiful campground. Very clean. They even have designated areas for your tent which have been leveled and cleared of big rocks for a more comfortable sleep.

Five stars BECAUSE this is not RVers Heaven! And don’t think I’m hating – I own a small trailer, and do enjoy having electrical hookups.(Hey, Hubby works from the road while we travel, so we need juice for his ‘puter.) But we were tent campers FIRST. So we really enjoy the beauty of quiet, not the roar of generators or air conditioners, when we camp. I generally like to give Nat’l Forest Service campgrounds 5* because they’re removed from the hustle and bustle, and hey, that’s why you’re camping, right? Right? Well, if not, don’t come here. But if you like your campground camping to be a back-to-nature experience, this is a great place. Lots to do in the area — hiking, biking, birdwatching, fishing, exploring ice caves and lava tubes. What you WON’T FIND: showers, hookups, noise. What you WILLFIND: friendly campground hosts, beauty everywhere you look, and peace. What you MIGHTFIND(in case you need it): a cell-phone data signal. The area has lots of dead spots, so beware if you can’t be disconnected for a few.
