Amazing staff! The owner is almost always in the shop, and he is super cool! Very friendly staff! They are super attentive and very friendly. The variety of loose leaf teas is mind blowing for such a cute little shop! Their tea is high quality and I find myself coming back for more. But that’s not all! They probably have the best boba in town. Its always fresh!

I have been drinking tea for a number of years. I drink mostly black and green tea but I prefer green tea in most cases. I have been going to TehKu on a periodic basis for around 4 – 5 years now. The customer service, food and tea has always been great and very high quality. The employees always greet you when you come in and are able to help you pick a tea if you’re struggling to make a decision. The owner knows her tea very well and travels periodically over seas to see where the tea is coming from. She also works hard to come up with great pairings between her food and tea. Every day she has several batches of very tasty scones and a number of great tea-based drinks including bubble tea. She also makes use of tea in her foods including her soups. The tea shop regularly has events going on during the weekends. These range from local musicians to spa and massages to tea ceremonies. This is one of few tea shops that I have found that will also make up blends for you upon request. I found a breakfast blend in a bagged tea that had a combination of green and black teas that I really liked. I talked to the owner about it and she was able to make up a blend of black tea, green tea, and oolong that tasted like the bagged tea, only vastly better. My wife loves raspberries and earl grey. The owner was able to come up with a blend that balanced the two flavors without either dominating the other.

I am currently enjoying a warm, chocolate chip pumpkin scone and a taro bubble tea. This is the first time I’ve had bubble tea in a smoothie form, and I love it! Pleasant taste, yet the tapioca balls are not chewy at all. Very soft, as if they were boiled for too long. Love the feel of the store. Will return to try other teas.

The boba is sweetened with an awful fruity syrup that alters the flavor of the tea. Definitely fusion and not traditional Taiwanese boba tea.

Amazing food, especially the soups and the scones. The Matcha Green Tea may be the best thing on the planet. Inggrie and her family are always kind, helpful, and pleasant.
I would literally go to TehKu everyday if I could make it work logistically and if they were open everyday! ;)

The kids love coming here! Bubble tea is their favorite. It is an expensive treat but very very yummy. I love the decaf coconut tea. It’s super refreshing. We have never tried their lunch but hear it is very tasty.

My weekend isn’t complete without a black milk bubble tea. TehKu has the best chai as well; their masala chai is a sweet cinnamon black tea that dances across your palate like the wings of a tea fairy. Their scones are made daily, and always delicious. The atmosphere is cosy and warm, and the staff are friendly and efficient. They always know how to recommend one of their blends. Parking can sometimes be a pain, but at least they are within walking distance of a number of lots.

This place always smells so wonderful because of the scones. It has a modern décor yet comfortable feel. At the bar, you can smell a variety of leaf teas in tin containers. This place can definitely help you to becoming a tea aficionado.

All and all I enjoyed my experience here. The food was tasty and the staff friendly. Our service was a little slow due to the walk in traffic getting very busy. This caused our brewing tea to arrive late. That been said it is the only compliant I have about the place. I ordered my chicken salad sandwich on lettuce as a substitution and it wasn’t a problem. They even plated it extra nice with apples, carrots, and a raspberry vinaigrette. They have both large packages and samplers of loose leaf tea to purchase. Plus a rewards card program with matching phone app. The location had amble parking, but the outside looks deceiving. My GPS put me at the dry cleaner nearby. I will definitely be coming back here and bringing friends.

Are you struggling with a cold, congestion, sore throat cough? You need to slip off the couch and out of your snuggie and order the super duper cold reliever. You’ll be back in a couple of sips! Great place for tea lovers!

The tea shop and scones and tasting bar — all very good! The only thing I think the place lacks is a cozy vibe. I think better seating options and a decorating spruce could do wonders to make the shop a really distinct destination.

I’m due for a visit, it’s the first place I ever had matcha and the open mics were always a blast. Thanks to Inggrie for her hardwork and doing columbus a solid by establishing such a great place.

If there is one thing I’d change about Tehku, it would be to get them not to make me spend so much money there. That’s not a comment on prices; that’s a comment on how irresistible I find the product. The first time I was here, I had a bubble tea, and I’ll confess I thought it was average. There was foamy milky stuff on top that dulled out the fruity flavor, though the bubble pearls and the tea were good as long as I avoided that milk. If I ever try bubble tea there again, I’m definitely asking for no foam. This second time, I started out with GenMatcha, which I believe was a genmaicha-matcha blend. They prepare it to a T, and it was warm and softly flavored, with a gentle pick-me-up as such teas are supposed to be and have. I was there for a several-hours work stretch, though, so I couldn’t help continuing to scan the menu. For my mid-visit tea, I got a blueberry matcha latte with coconut milk(they have coconut milk and almond milk as dairy-free options; if there is soy milk, I didn’t see it listed anywhere). There was a yummy blueberry scent to it and a little bit of sweetness. I also got the vegetarian hummus sandwich, which is served on an everything bagel with a salad on the side. This was quite tasty. They also offer soups infused with tea. I asked about them in case any piqued my interest, but my tastebuds were already telling me to get the sandwich. Nonetheless, one of the soups — pumpkin, I believe — I was told(without asking) was vegan. Presumably, the other one was not. It was when I was done with my tea and food and work and was on the way out that I caved to the real temptation, though: the loose teas. My long-distance gf has been suffering from a weeks-long sore throat. She works with small children, so they just infect her over and over. I send her some Throat Coat tea(Traditional Medicinals, available at many supermarkets), but it has a strong licorice flavor, and she hates licorice. She drinks it because it feels good, but she calls it «icktea» and makes fun of me for making her swallow it down. So I thought I’d browse the options at Tehku. They have a cold reliever tea, but it too has licorice root. And fennel. And aniseed. With that licoricious trifecta, I knew she’d hate it. But at about that time, an employee asked if I needed help. I asked about cold teas with no licorice-flavored ingredients. He said he thought the cold reliever’s dominant flavor was actually oregano, but I didn’t want to take the chance on it. He suggested a few other options but said that what I should really do is talk to Inggrie. She is the tea artiste and might be able to come up with a custom blend, something good for colds but doesn’t have all the licorice flavors. I took a card. I also grabbed a Lemon Ginger Soother to send to my gf and a green tea blend called Morning Dew for myself. I made my Morning Dew when I got home, and it was insanely good. I had the tea basket out on a saucer for a while, and it was almost like potpourri, it smelled so good for so long. I’m sure I’ll be back to try more! Just… not so much with the foam.

We ordered 1 matcha and 1 taro boba tea. The taro tea was very sweet, almost too sweet, and didn’t taste hardly anything like taro. The matcha also tasted strange, and the green tea flavor was way too light. While the tapioca balls were at least fresh, I can tell they weren’t soaked in syrup/brown sugar after they were boiled. If you’re a local Midwesterner, you might like this place. If you’re coming from Taiwan, California, or anywhere else with good boba, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Great Masala Chai tea, and mixed berry scone was delicious. Knowledgable warm staff, and inviting environment, as our toddler was free to run around and meet friendly strangers(his favorite activity). All around a pleasant and seemingly authentic experience.

I was reallyyy craving bubble tea and, while we were in the neighborhood, we decided to give TehKu tea a shot. I decided on the mango bubble tea. The tapioca pearls were really good, but I thought the mango tea part was kind of powdery and artificial tasting. There also weren’t a lot of pearls versus how much tea there was. It was okay, though, and did quench my bubble tea thirst. The guy behind the counter let me use my card even though my tea was less than $ 5, which I appreciated! Clearly, I need to get better about carrying cash… Overall, it was just okay. I’m sure other things on their menu are better, but I probably won’t be returning.

I cannot praise TehKu enough. I love this place beyond all reason. The scones? Delightful! The tea? Too many delicious varieties to list, although I recommend the Crème Brulee with NO reservations. The staff is incredibly helpful and courteous and are always ready with a recommendation. The hummus plate is a definite«yes» also-the veggies on there were delicious! Almost like they were JUST picked! Come for a Saturday afternoon when they have a local artist playing some tunes or plan to visit their tea ceremony. You won’t be disappointed!
