St Philip Lutheran School

My daughter attended St Philips 3yr old preschool program and is currently in the 4yr old preschool program. The teachers are wonderful, kind and caring. My daughter loves going to school everyday. We have been so happy with the school and the type of learning environment they provide that we have decided to keep her at St Philips next year for kindergarten. I have heard great things about the kindergarten program and am looking forward to the small class size, which I’m sure she will thrive in. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an amazing school!

I am throughly impressed with the education my sons (kindergarten and 3^rd grade) are receiving. The smaller class sizes (one has 15 students in class, the other has 9) means more personalized attention. For example, after a standardized test revealed my 3^rd grader has unusually high spacial understanding, Mrs. Handcock added a origami section to the unit on Japan. He loved it. I feel like parents and teachers are all on the same team and support each other. Parents have a chance to get to know one another. The teachers don’t just care about what your child is learning, but about how they are growing socially and emotionally. Again, when my 3^rd grader did well on a timed math test he had been studying for weeks for, Mrs. Handcock texted me immediately to let me know so that we could have a celebration dinner ready that night. My Kindergartener is reading much faster than my other two children did because Mrs. Bru takes the time to send home enrichment activities that are more that just busy work. This is a supportive, loving village that care about how the entire child is growing.

My daughter has been attending St. Philip for the past 4 years and I couldn’t envision her going to school anywhere else. The academics are rigorous, and the teachers are incredible. They are always happy to discuss my child both academically and socially. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to leave my daughter in the hands of a community of people that work incredibly hard to make sure that she has all the tools necessary to be a successful and well-​rounded individual. The families I have met have been incredible and I see them not only at birthday parties and drop off time, but also at events like pasta night, movie night, the talent show, and the yearly auction that always has the most amazing items for the whole family. If you’re looking for a great education for your child, make sure St. Philip makes your list!

Saint Philip is an amazing school! Out of all the schools I have taught at, it is by far the best place I’ve been blessed to work. My coworkers and principal are all incredibly supportive, loving, caring, and make working at St. Philip such a joy. I daily look forward to coming to work and receive all the help, support, and tools that I need to be successful. The children at our school receive an amazing education and are well prepared for their future. My students share daily how much they love our school and how they all are excited to return next year. We provide an excellent Spanish, P.E., and Music program and our small classroom sizes provide for incredible hands on learning and excelled academics. Our principal is very kind, warm, hard working, and an excellent leader who puts her staff and the students first.

Love the school and wonderful PreK program. Our child missed the public school deadline and we choose this school because of it’s full day program, close to home, and Christian education. Each week the kids learn how to identify and write a new letter, or number, and a new song about a bible story (it’s really sweet). We are happy with our decision and continue to support the school because the pastor, teachers, and principal are all friendly, organized, and professional.

My daughter has attended St. Philip since Kindergarten and currently is in 3^rd grade. We have been very happy at St. Philip and are looking forward to 4^th grade already. My daughter loves school and is happy every day to get up and go to St. Philip. The teachers are very kind, helpful and do an over all great job. There are many school events that make you feel as if you are part of a family. There is always something going on at St. Philip that is enriching the students. The academics and Christian environment make us very happy to attend St. Philip.

St. Philip is a truly wonderful and special place. They provide a Christ-​centered education on a safe and secure campus in West Dublin. Each child has the opportunity to develop spiritually, emotionally, cognitively, physically and socially. The teachers, support staff and principal are all extremely passionate about providing a quality education for all students. I truly believe that you will find SPS a warm and welcoming place for you and your child.

Our neighbor referred us to St. Philip & I’m glad she did. Our daughter felt right at home during our tour (she didn’t want to leave). She’s done 2 years in preschool and onto kindergarten next. The class sizes are small which allows for more one on one learning. You can tell the teachers love what they do because it reflects on the students .I can see how much our daughter has grown academically, socially, spiritually. I can’t say enough good things about the school. St. Philip is a great school ! I would recommend it to anyone.

This school has been the biggest blessing in our family’s life! Our son is about to complete his second year at this preschool and our daughter will begin her first in the fall. We absolutely adore the staff and the other families we have met have become great friends! We feel very safe having our children there and know that they are well taken care of and loved! Our son has a food allergy and the staff is SO wonderful about being careful and aware of what he can and can’t have. We just LOVE this school!

St. Philip Lutheran School is the perfect school for our daughter. Prior to attending St. Philip, my daughter used to go to a public school where she was bullied at an early age of 5 (Kindergarten). We decided to move her and we’re glad to have found St. Philip. It has a nurturing environment and it helped my daughter regain her self-​esteem. She’s been attending St. Philip for 2 years now since 1^st grade and she’s made a lot of good friends. She enjoys going to school everyday. The principal, teachers, and staff are dedicated. Due to its small size, the teachers are able to focus on the needs of each student. Students who are more advanced are given extra challenges, while students who need more help are given the attention they need. I’m really impressed with their curriculum (e.g. quarterly book reports starting in 1^st grade; challenging math problems that make them analytical thinkers; creative and persuasive writing in 2^nd grade). I highly recommend this school. My daughter once told me, «Mommy, I love my school. Thank you for bringing me to St Philip.» That’s why I know that this is the perfect place for my daughter.

After finding our previous pre-​school lacking in good 4’s pre-​kindergarden curriculum, we moved DGD the elder here.
Mommy did her research, and it was the best thing we ever did.
Her classroom was so calm, and students were happy and engaged. The staff is kind, caring… but clear and firm. Really a dream team.
The program was amazing… she made tremendous progress, and passed the kindergarten interview with flying colors! She is off to a great start because we made this move.
DGD the younger will attend the 3’s program next year… and we could not be happier.

We are now completely our second year at the preschool, and I am terribly sad that my daughter will no longer be here. You cannot find a better teacher than Mrs. Tetzloff. Her and her colleagues (Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Rostratter, Mrs. Mottram) care deeply about their students. Even though she is a seasoned teacher and mother, Mrs. Tetzloff once attended a speech therapy session on site after work hours, just so she could understand her 3 year olds better (they were particularly hard to understand that year). That is a mark of a truly dedicated teacher — one who realizes teachers always have room to grow and learn for the sake of their students.
The parents here are outstanding. We all get along, many of us have become lifelong friends, we aren’t helicoptery (I’m sure I’ve had my moments), and everyone is always willing to help. No one has anything to prove. Just wonderful.
Finally, I want to add that the preschool teachers are very big on morals, kindness, love, and teaching the whole child. Isn’t this the most important thing? They will nurture your child and bring out the best in him/​her. And they will also nip any type of unkindness, disrespect, and poor behavior in the bud. I’ve heard of several issues occurring at other preschools in San Ramon hat would be a non-​issue at St. Philip’s.

I can’t say enough good things about this school. My daughter went to preschool for 2 years at St. Philip. We love Mrs.Tetzloff. I always felt that my daughter was in a safe, nurturing and positive environment. My daughter is now in Kindergarten at St. Philip, and I am thrilled with the small class size and focus on academics with a spiritual foundation. Mrs. Bru is a wonderful teacher!

St. Philip is an outstanding Christian school for grades preschool — 8 that offers a well-​rounded, strong curriculum. The staff is dedicated, loving, and very professional. It’s a small community that really puts family first!
