Came by here a few times and this is definitely a great choice for indian food! Love their Mezbaan Chicken. However, I was walking by the center the other day, and Mezbaan is now CLOSED. Really sad about this and hope it is temporary.

First time ever having Indian food. Honestly, not a fan. At. All. So I am not going to really say much about the food because I just plain didn’t like it and I have nothing to compare it to so onward… well… there was one thing that was just plain nasty, this trio of condiments had some sort of pickled lemon thing and it was sooooooo nasty BUT this other condiment, a sweet purplish plum sauce was YUM. Ok onward… The service wasn’t bad but what WAS bad was this guy who I guess is their version of a runner although the server just stood there and could have easily served us. This runner was COUGHING all over his hands, the food, the trays, our table, anywhere he was, he was coughing. Gross. Gross. Gross. 2 stars was because they were really nice and they didn’t mind our group paying separately.

December 2013. Place is cold… bring a jacket! and they don’t turn up the heat(even though EVERYONE in the place is wearing a jacket.!) Don’t come really hungry, service is VERY slow at best! if at all! Paneer was burnt, dinner never came out, drinks were too strong. They ended up comping the drinks and kids food and we left without dinner. We all went home and ended up eating pizza! Don’t waste your time!

The food was good, we had the buffet at lunch. We also have ordered take out in a few occasions. I feel this restaurant deserves the patronage of the community if we want to continue having businesses opening around us. The food is high quality and a good value. Totally worth it.

We ate here last night for the first time as we are new to Dublin and we always look for great Indian food. Mezbaan was awesome! We had the butter chicken, chicken Mezbaan, saag paneer and it came with complimentary rice which is nice. The owner is very gracious and attentive as well as his staff and we will definitely be back sooner than later. They also have a full bar and we had a nice bottle of wine too. If you love Indian, go here, you won’t be dissapointed!

Ordered ToGo Dinner: & Tried their Buffet on November 28; just wanted to give them a second chance before writing this comment and Give them rating. To Go Order: Chilli Chicken, Chicken — E– Mezbaan, Garlic Naan, Butter Naan Lahori Chicken, Rice Chilli chicken: Taste way below expectation. morning left over buffet chicken was used in making it, literally spit out, stones were in it. when called them, manager said«Oh I have to tell our kitchen about cleaning the naan before giving it. It is not in the dish, it is in the naan. we do get complaints about it» $ 14 + Taxes = $ 15 for an appetizer, Its too much. Though I dont mind paying $$ for great food and excellent service. But stones and stale chicken is a BIG no no and turn off… Sorry … No Stars Chicken E Mezbaan: Stale chicken; again morning buffet chicken… Sorry… No Stars: Garlic Naan: Very good; probably this was the best thing I ate in there; 5 Stars Lahori Chicken: Unique recipe for sure, never ate this anywhere else: 3 Stars Rice: uncooked, hard to eat. No Stars Ambiance, Sitting etc: Very Good. 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Buffet:on 28th November, Thanks Giving: Aloo Tikki: very hard; over cooked probably by keeping it long over the pan; No Stars Gulab Jamun: Very tasty; 5 stars Noor Paneer: Good, different from other places: 3 Stars Naan served for Buffet: Not good, re heated: 2 stars Rice: un cooked, hard to eat: No Stars Lahori Chicken: Stones in it; This is probably the worst thing anybody can have while eating; They need to pay more attention to it. Summarize: Over rated, over priced, could be better, small stones in food for what ever reason it is not good. If you charge more than make sure morning buffet left overs should not be used at dinner,

Ordered Chicken Chilli but he convinced me and said«We have the best starter called Maharaja Chicken which has a secret pocked and a secret sauce». I said«Ok». Few minutes later 5 different families came and this Manager told the same thing to them and convinced to have Maharaja Chicken. I later realized that Maharaja Chicken was served as a part of Buffet that afternoon so all the Chicken Maharaja served in the dinner was not fresh but the left over. Totally disappointed. Also had Salty Kulfi and Diluted Lassi. Also also also, Ordered Biryani and got White steamed rice! I had a lol experience!

Favorite indian of San Ramon, you’ve got some competition! This is my go to indian buffet spot in the tri valley area. My favorite part is they offer warm gulab jamun at the buffet! The only thing that could’ve improved my experience is the service. It took forever to get someone to get water and naan. Both times, I had to flag someone a couple times after 20 minutes of initial waiting. The gulab jamun keeps me coming back.

Karela(Bittergourd) was moist, not too bitter. That was a pleasant surprise since most Desi restaurants make it dry. The Lucknowi Kofta was a variant of Malai Kofta. Wife liked it. The tandoori rotis were soft on the middle with a nice crust and were light. The Nan was not doughy. Did not care for the Papri Chaat, so have to dock a star.

The best buffet in the pleasanton, dublin area currently. They have awesome variety and food tastes good. Definitely try the kofta with cashew-nuts.

We decided to try this place for a second time to see if they were just having a bad night 2 months ago… 21-Sep-2013, Saturday evening –Service was still extremely slow. It improved by 30 minutes, but still way too slow. If you have plans afterward you will be late. –Lamb samosas still was off. Not sure what it is. Is the meat old? –Lamb curry still ok. Not the best but not the worst. –Plain Basmati rice was undercooked and had some crunch to it. This is an Asian restaurant, how can you screw up on rice?! Requested a second helping and it was the same. If you cannot even get the rice right — what about the rest of the food? Additionally the rice tasted as if it wasn’t rinsed/washed prior to «cooking.» Lesson: Prior to cooking rice, it is supposed to be rinsed/washed to get rid of excess starch powder. If rice is not rinsed there is a starchiness to it. Moreover, Basmati rice is supposed to be rinsed and then soaked for about 15 minutes to ensure the rice cooks evenly and shorter cooking time. This also prevents rice grains from prematurely breaking. Anyhow during the meal I started to get a stomachache up until a couple hours after getting home due to undercooked rice expanding in my stomach.(That is why you don’t feed birds uncooked rice…) I hope your buffet is by far better than weekend dinner. One plus for the buffet is that you don’t have to rely on their extremely slow service.

If I could take back this one star I will just do that– Thanks for the response, how is it «completely out of the ordinary»? The lady said all the samosa’s you have are like that. Do you taste your food before it goes out to the buffet. You Biriyani was so dry and the rice was under-cooked. I know what a good biriyani taste like and how a good fresh samosa taste like. In your curries all I got was the over powering flavor of cinnamon and Garam Masala and heart burn for 2 days. Your butter chicken was obviously made with cut up leftover tandoori chicken you can see the grill marks on the meat. After the lady told you about the situation you just disappeared and never came to the front because you couldn’t face us. We will not ever come back to your restaurant.

I had a great buffet lunch at Mezbaan. The dishes had wonderful flavors and exotic spices. The tandoori chicken was tender and succulent. The dishes were spicy enough to warm the pallate but not too spicy to overwhelm the delicious flavors. The lunch buffet had a huge assortment that was quite possibly the largest in the Tri-Valley. The service was very attentive and friendly. They were very eager to replenish the naan plate. Mesbaan also has a gorgeous full bar with good selection of wine and other beverages.

For the quality of food and price of the Saturday lunch buffet, this place is definitely below average considering the other options in the Tri-Valley area. The food was dry, tasted stale, and not much variety as suggested by other posts. The rice dishes had lower/cheaper quality of rice and did not give much flavor and the dishes tasted bland. The service was good, but did not help the overall experience. Hope they improve…

Mezbaan is in the same complex as Buffalo Wings and Tokyo Playground. Mezbaan is ur usual Indian eatery + cocktails. Décor upscale. 2 separate dining areas= more intimacy. flatscreens(many): bollywood, news, sports eats: lunch buffet(11.95 saturday) –pricey for indian buffet, 16 entrees, all very fresh greeter didn’t know price of buffet, price not posted, guessing pricing depends on day of week. –chicken tandoori dry, mango ice cream bland, — paneer, butter chicken very fresh –spicing(curry) pronunced, not bland. food very flavorful. footnotes: –too hot a day to eat buffet –naan comes every 5 minutes to table(just say no, too filling) –arrived 12, maybe that’s why food was fresh –patrons mostly Indian. –chairs sofa like, so comfortable! 4 stars for the buffet, not sure about regular menu.

I can’t. I just… can’t. Quite a while ago, our go-to all time favorite Indian place closed and while car shopping we found Mezbaan. I can’t even begin to help you understand what you’re in for. They have an extensive vegetarian menu — awesome! And not the usual — paneer based stuff. I had the vegetable balls in cashew gravy — Sweet. Lord. In. Heaven. I d*mn near cried, no joke. Just glorious. Sounds weird — get over and try something other than vindaloo, tikka masala and rogan josh. This is Northern style cooking like I wish my Nana could make. And the bread selection! Poori for daaaaaaayyyyys. Naan like an enchanted forest of dreams. Dublin is a trek for us but we’ll definitely be making our way out there. It is THATGOOD. Also? Bollywood on TV.

Indian food here is considered in the likes of Dosa, Idli, spicy chicken, chicken masala(that they refer to butter chicken-north Indian dish) so I was not as appeased with the choices in this area for Indian cuisine along with the ambiance in the rest of the places. Mezban is #1 for the ambiance, finally a place where you can relax, your clothes don’t stink of the Indian spices and the place is well-maintained(new, but nicely designed) Mezban is #1 in north Indian delicacies which we have been missing since a while and finally we get it here, Butter Chicken and Chicken Mezban with their Naans is the best option! The people in here, including the owner, are very hospitable for their customers and help you around on deciding on the menu based on your palate! Upscale as others mention is definitely a nice compliment(as per me) for an Indian restaurant because there are restaurants all around but its just Indian Restaurants that need to pep up their interiors and not let people picture that Indians do not care about hygiene, ambiance and Service! Mezban is definitely working hard and providing best services in town! About the price, we spend more than $ 50 on UPSCALE French, Japanese, Greek, etc cuisines so Mezban is doing right being in the same league and having quality food. I am ready to pay it, the others should probably go to places in San Ramon or Fremont where the restaurants look more like Street shops!!! And oh Vegetarians, ask them to customize! Try their Paneer, Paneer Grill, Malai Kofta(Yum) and eggplant, okra, their is a lot if you really want to EAT!

I got take out from this restaurant on Saturday. What a mistake! We like to try new Indian restaurants and were hoping for something to rave about but they fell short in quality by a along shot! We are vegetarians and boy were we disappointed. Terrible Aloo Chaat and Aloo Tikki. Small quantity for the value, sloppy preparation and salty! Soup. What a disaster. We ordered the Hot and Sour. Barely enough soup for one. Again, very cheap and more than be cheap with the quantity the soup tasted as though it were out of a can. Salty as well. The Saag Paneer was not bad but in now way better than other places in town. Disappointing. We also tried the Bengan Bhartha. This wasnt bad. Kinda of interesting twist on preparation. We also had the Vegtable Masala. This too was ok but nothing exceptional. The Chili Naan? Where were the chilis? The Kashmiri Naan was better but just very average in quality. For dessert, we ordered Ras Malai. Cheap portions. Unimpressive. So, for the prices this place is charging you would expect to be impressed. City prices with suburban quality. There are far better places in the tri Valley for the money. I will not name them as this would not be fair here. I will talk a little about my first impression walking in to the place as well. BORING. So, unless you live nearby this place, and you are in a hurry and dont mind spending twice what the food quality is worth, go elsewhere. $ 70+ for food that was quite frankly worth $ 25. Also asked for a small discount since we were not eating in the restaurant, most places give you a little break. Not this one. Talk about not knowing how to build repeat business. We wont be back.

Spicy and full of flavor. Not greasy. Menu has a lot of variety for both Vegetarian and meat eaters. Orders come with rice or basmati rice. Servings are enough to share between two. Recommend Chicken Saagwala if you like spinach. Although the Lamb we got was a bit over cooked. Chai tea tasted nice, dark and earthy. I enjoyed the Dessert trio. Location has plenty of parking and seating for groups. Service is helpful and friendly. Atmosphere is classic cloth tables and napkins. Although just one little thing of etiquette I’d prefer that the used utensils be removed after each course.
