Absolutely love Koiya! It’s of course Americanized Japanese food and it’s a lot cheaper and faster than going to a formal sit down hibachi grill. It’s a small place with low lighting, but it’s inviting. The menu may seem vast, but it’s essentially the same ingredients, only prepared different ways. Oh, I googled what yakisoba is, and it’s noodles, just for everyone’s fyi. To make it simple, choose your protein(steak, chicken, tuna, shrimp) and then you can choose to have a «bowl» which is just a double serving of rice or to have it the traditional«hibachi» way with veggies and rice. I started getting the steak bowl with a side of fried dumplings. So delicious! The staff is super friendly though they do get flustered when they’re busy and can seem curt. There was one occasion where the dumplings took longer than our entrée to come out and he threw in an extra two for our wait. Thank you! Oh, I took off a star because they actually have sushi, BUT they have only had it one time in all the times we’ve been here. And it’s really really good! I wish they had it every night :( I highly suggest trying them during the week when they aren’t busy because otherwise they won’t have half the menu. We tried coming on a Friday night and my fiancé wanted teriyaki salmon but they didn’t have it. Then they didn’t want to do sushi since it was too time consuming. So I asked for Bang Bang chicken and he said it’ll be awhile, they’re busy. So! Fair warning, have a backup when ordering just in case they’re «out».
