The food here is good and the service is ok. The atmosphere is nice as well. Definitely a spot for some strong margaritas and a girls night

Went here for lunch today. Had a really good shredded chicken taco salad. Very tasty. Will go back and try the Margaritas as soon as I find a designated driver.

I’m spoiled and love a wider range of spice and heat in my Mexican food but this place will do the trick for a quick fix. The chips and salsa flow freely and the carnitas are tender, flavorful and delicious. I ordered the Carnitas Chimichangas and they were very tasty. The service is friendly and fast. The drinks are a little pricey but cold and boozey nonetheless. It’s an enjoyable restaurant. My only complaint is that it’s always cold in there!

Stopped in for dinner time and had a great time. Very attentive waitress and quick service. Got the chimichangas and a couple margs. Very good and generous portions. Hands down one of my favorite salsas too. Absolutely nothing complain about.

The staff is great but the food and drinks are extremely over priced. I will come back due to the fact it’s so close and the staff is great but these prices!!!

My husband and I ordered pick up from here. We will never go here again! The food was hot but that was the only good thing about our dinner. My husband ordered a chicken fajita and they did not put the tortilla shells in with our food. He was very upset about it. I ordered the taco salad. I asked for grilled chicken. They asked me if i wanted it a fajita style I said no I do not want the bell peppers or onions in my food as I do not like them but i would take rice and beans. Well what do you know… my taco salad had the peppers and onions in it and No beans or rice. I was disappointed. I was also disappointed with the taste of the salsa and chips. The salad tasted like pizza marinara sauce but watered down. The chips were very plain tasting as well. I will never go back here again! ’

Heads up: expect to pay a little more than most«standard» Mexican places but trust me it’s so worth it! The inside is adorable and the service was top notch! The food was large portions and I loved how it wasn’t so greasy like most places! I will def be returning!

Came for lunch on a Monday. Not busy, we were seated quickly. Service was very good and quick but food was just ok. I had the speedy Gonzales– beef taco was tasty but the beef enchilada, rice and beans were subpar. The enchilada sauce was flavorless as were the beans. Husband had the El Michoacana which was decent but overpriced and needed at least 2 more tortillas(only came with 2). Will consider going again but probably not for a while.

My wife and I had spent the day shopping, rug shopping in fact. We probably visited at least 6 different places that sold rugs, with a few extra stops along the way. Around 5:00pm we were tired and hot and our car was stuffed full, so we decided to find something decent to have for dinner. She said«I’m craving a good Margarita» and I immediately turned the car towards Tuttle Mall and headed to Casa Patron. We’ve been here 2 –3 times and have always enjoyed the food and the service, as well as the interior decorations. We were quickly seated and soon she had her Margarita and I was enjoying a nice draft of Dos Equis dark. She ordered a shrimp cocktail, with some tacos on the side and I went for the Casa Patron Ribeye, smothered in peppers and onions,(jalapenos!). We also ordered some guacomole to go along with our chips & salsa. The food arrived and it was as good as always. My Steak was thin, but cooked correctly and her Shrimp Cocktail was fabulous. We took our time, enjoying the food while we chatted about the next items on our shopping lists. We’re making improvements to our home and I’m hoping the next one will be a new gas stove! This place has become our now go to for Mexican food. We have tried many others and there’s a few we also liked very much, but Casa Patron is a lot closer to our house and the food/service has always been good/great. We will continue to go back!

It’s been awhile since writing a review for Casa Patron, so I thought I’d update it after a good 50 visits at this point. Bottom line, I’ve updated it to a 5-star after trying many more dishes, watching management continually improve the menu, and for their RIDICULOUSLY good margaritas. It should also go without saying that they have a wonderful patio. For me, I’m not a big sun worshiper, so it’s nice to have the sun setting behind the building, so I can be outside without getting baked to death. Nice, warm, but in the shade — right up my alley. In my original review, I said that we’d tried the Patron margarita. Good, still… but since trying their«Original Margarita,» we’ve never wavered. This thing is INSANELY good and as another reviewer mentioned, it’s strong… but trust me, it’s not TOO strong. They do such a good job with the balance of juice, tequila, and acidics that the margarita tastes truly Perfect. Best margarita I’ve ever had in my life(Chili Verde is a 2nd place winner in my opinion).

Yesterday, we decided we were in the mood for mexican so we went to Casa Patron for lunch. I have been here a few times before and have gotten their fajitas, chimichangas and enchiladas. All of them were pretty good, but not mind blowing. So I decided to try their tacos yesterday and see how they were. Their tacos are not served a la carte and they don’t have a lunch item either. I had to look through the menu about 3 times before I could find tacos anywhere. You have to pay the full dinner price in order to get 3 tacos that come with a side of rice and beans. You can choose from the usual variety of meats, steak, chicken, carnitas, pastor, etc. But the price was a little high for me. I am used to being able to get tacos for 1 – 2 dollars a piece. Spending over $ 12 dollars for the 3 tacos and beans & rice seemed a little much for what I got. I ordered 2 pastor tacos because pastor is my absolute favorite, and 1 carnitas. The Carnitas was a little dry and didn’t have very much flavor to it. The pastor had a nice flavor to it and I can say I definitely enjoyed these. I asked if they had a salsa verde and hot sauce to go with the tacos. The waitress informed me the tacos come with a hot sauce, but no salsa verde. I was a little disappointed but the hot sauce was fantastic! It had great flavor and was REALLY spicy. The tacos came with onions and cilantro on top, just how I like them. However, the tortilla to meat ratio was a little off. They used bigger tortillas and didn’t put enough meat in them. I had a couple bites that were only tortilla. I would rather have a smaller tortilla and meat falling out. But over all they were pretty tasty. My friend ordered a side of Chori Dip, which is queso with mexican sausage mixed in. The queso was good, but the sausage was a little weird. Neither of us could figure out what was off but something tasted a little chalky or something. I wouldn’t recommend getting that. The server was really nice and very attentive. We got our drinks, chips and salsa, orders in and food out so fast! I haven’t ever had a bad experience here but nothing has ever blown me away either.

Tasteless, definitely not authentic Mexican food. The restaurant was empty and they took forever to serve. Looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Columbus and this one was an epic fail. Carne asada — Tasteless Flautas — Soggy and tasteless Burrito — No meat El Patron Special — asked for sour cream sauce on the enchiladas and I was served a pink sauce that was disgusting Guacamole — decent Frijoles — decent Chips — old Salsa — tasteless

2nd time dining here. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Love the environment… so colorful and vibrant. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with shrimp in the cheesy goodness sauce. Soooo yummy. I enjoyed the beans, rice, pico, and guac. Boyfriend thought the rice was a little dry. The burritos they serve are huge and very tasty, also. So far this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. We will be back!

Stopped here for lunch with co-workers on a sunny spring day. Seating outside was available. I noticed right away that each person received their own salsa bowl to prevent anyone at the table from double-dipping in the community salsa. The lunch specials seem to be smaller versions of full-sized dinner entrees. Service was pretty fast and not overly attentive; essentially if you wanted to linger over lunch you could and if not, then they were able to get you out of the restaurant quickly.

Met up with some coworkers here for a luncheon celebration. As I had not been in the area for a while, I drove past the location a couple of times. It is on the back side of a strip mall section along Parkcenter Drive. There was not any apparent signage out front to signify its location. The parking lot is currently riddled with potholes … okay, more like sinkholes … be careful. The storefront is deceptive as it looks rather small from the front. Once inside, there is a far amount of seating space available. Interior is decorated nicely with a south of the border ambiance that is colorful, warm and fun. There menu is a standard American Mexican faire. Lunch items were $ 6.99 and good portion size. I had the chimichanga which was one chimichanga with some Spanish rice, refried beans and chopped lettuce, salsa and guac. The food was tasty, but more lukewarm. Service was efficient, fast and responsive. I don’t really expect servers to entertain or be my best friend, but service was distant and not particularly inviting and seemed to be how other tables were handled as well. My point is that there was not anything that really particularly set this restaurant apart from others, except maybe the colorful interior and reasonable prices. So, I would visit the restaurant again, but in this day and age with so many options, especially with Mexican faire, I’m not likely to go the extra distance.

Great first impression! Our favorite, Las Margaritas by Tuttle, has closed, so we needed a new place to stave off our cravings. Relatives suggested it and we are so glad. Came for lunch and the service was quick, friendly and efficient. The chips were fine and the salsa good. We each got our own bowl and there was a small additional decanter for refills on the table. I had flautas which were hot and crispy, filled with white, moist chicken and accompanied by fresh pico, sour cream and guacamole. The rice and beans were good. Hubby had fajitas which he devoured. Great lunch for under twenty bucks. We will be back to try more. Great lively décor and it looks to have a summer patio. Glad we tried it!

I had the Chimichangas and a strawberry margarita. Both were good. I usually go to Vaqueros and Casa Patron is a lot larger on the inside than it looks on the outside! THe restaurant is clean and the service was great. Definitely would come back here if I was back in the area again.
