Great food. Made quickly. They even game me a hot dog for my puppy who was traveling with me! Stopping here every trip home from the lake.

This is the first time driving thru this area and I was surprised to see Chili restaurants at the exits. What a great idea when you are trying to stay off the carbs. I saw the Skyline Chili sign and took a chance. I was not disappointed. I ordered the loaded bowl with onion cheese and sour cream. Just the right amount of food. It was tasty and just the right spice. Started at a 4 but the customer service and smiling faces make it a 5!

Best Skyline restaurant because it’s closest to Lexington! Not convenient to my situation, but well worth the drive.

This is probably the closest Skyline to Lexington(my main stomping grounds), so my wife and I frequented it quite a bit back in the day. They even memorized my wife’s usual order and would just have to confirm it with us when we got there. The interior is always clean, staff is quick and efficient, and the food is always up to Skyline Standards. More recently, we’ve had a dog in tow and not been able to visit. We decided to visit their drive-thru on a recent trip back from Indianapolis. I ordered a Coney dog(wasn’t super hungry) and the wife got her medium four-way with extra onions and Dr. Pepper with no ice. Both were delicious, but they had neglected to give us any onions. Thankfully, we opted to eat in the parking lot so I ran in and got those pretty quickly. The staff apologized and has them ready to go in seconds. Great location, will visit again.

A wonderful experience. I’ve eaten skyline chili all my life and this place ranks among the best I’ve eaten at. Great customer service and a quality product made right the first time. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Meh… That’s all I have to say about the food. For a restaurant that specializes in chili, it should serve something better than chili akin to frozen block institutional chili. I got the chili burrito that came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a huge pile of cheddar on top. The worst part? The chili! My wife ordered a Greek salad, something I don’t really associate with chili. The salad was OK and pretty standard. My son had the children’s spaghetti which looked like noodles lightly coated with chili sauce. The best thing on the menu would have to be the funnel fries! Funnel cakes made into bite size pieces and covered with powered sugar. Quite tasty! On the plus side the restaurant was clean and spacious. Occasionally a waitress would yell a fry order to the kitchen, something we didn’t appreciate. Overall we were underwhelmed and probably won’t be coming back.

First time here, really have no complaints to speak of. Restaurant was clean, service was good. Food came out looking exactly as pictured. The chili has a taste which I believe is nutmeg, I am not a fan of. Chili should be in no way sweet. Could I eat it yes. Noodles a little over cooked. So to wrap it up, I give the restaurant 5 stars, I was just not a fan of the taste of the chili. But we had to try it!!!

Rival between skyline chili and gold star? By far, I think goldstar wins it hands down. Skyline is something I guess you have to grow up with. I’m from the Carolinas, so Cincinnati chili is already pretty far off. However the argument of weird, I wouldn’t say so. Maybe I’ve ate weird things in my life and chili on top of pasta just isn’t weird. Skyline is something different though, I didn’t enjoy it. Mostly because it was just sloppy. It wasn’t chunky, which is something I’m used to down south. It was a very bean based type of chili and well, I’m all for beans except it doesn’t fair well in the car. The service wasn’t bad. This review is purely on the chili, and the famous debate on which one is better. But as I said if I’m in town again and I had to choose, it’ll be the gold star.

Was not all that good. Steak ‘n Shake has better chili than this place. Since Unilocal is being stupid and making this a tip instead of a review I will restate that this place does not have good chili. Could probably find better chili at a food bank.

Disclaimer: I love Skyline Chili! Love it. This location showcases it wonderfully. Large open spaces for tables with clear lines between and a comfortable ambiance inside. Clean restrooms to match the rest of the clean interior. Service was excellent, she brought us bibs to keep our dress clothes clean. Yes, we stopped after an event requiring a suit and tie. Now the food is what you would expect, which is why you go anyways! Delicious and exactly what you love.

Predominantly found in the general vicinity of Cincinati, I usually make it a point to stop at a Skyline as I drive through for a 3-way(or 4… or 5) chili depending on how I’m feeling when I’m in the area. Cincinati chili comes in various tiers or ways. Each way is an additional element in the dish. 3-way is spaghetti base, a meat sauce and cheese. Add a way and you can add either fresh chopped onions or beans for a 4-way or both for a 5-way. Add a little hot sauce or habenero cheese and you’re good to go! It’s not mind-blowing or anything – the meat sauce is fairly plain and straightforward, but its just a simple local dish that’s worth a try and a nice change of pace from regular roadside food on a road trip. On top of the chilis they also have some decent chili dogs, chili baked potatoes, etc. Basically all chili, all the time. Heh. In terms of the restaurant setup Skyline is actually pretty nice it’s a sit down restaurant with fast food prices and décor. Think Steak & Shake minus a little style. …also, calling home to say«I had a 3-way and it was AWESOME!!» is always hilarious. Note: Apparently they’re not only the official chili of the Cincinati Reds, but also the official ‘ways’. Haha. How many other MLB teams have an official ways?

I have always wanted to stop in at Skyline Chili, so was very happy to stop and try it out. The Chili is very good, I tried it 5 ways, but wish I would have just focused on the chili and forgot the rest.

So I’m in the middle of an interminable drive between way up North and way down South, lunchtime comes up and just when I am thinking whether it is going to be burger or Chinese buffet, and I see a sign for a branch of the famous Skyline chili, and realize I can check off a box on my culinary bucket list — chili from Cincinnati. I pull up to this place that looks and feels like a clean fast food franchise, except instead of a big burger grill, there is a big space in the counter where they fetch up the chili, and another big space where they dish up spaghetti. Given the gobs of cheese they put on everything, there was probably anther big space for that too, but I did not notice it. I ordered a four way — that’s chili and spaghetti and a choice of onion or beans.(I had beans — I was driving alone.). And, having been away from Southland too darn long, I had sweet ice tea, too. Anyway — the chili was good, fresh, and tasted strongly of cinnamon. I liked it, And the oyster crackers, too. It’s not like Texas, but it was good and filling. I was in and out in 20 min. I could not have done better at Chick Fil A. And this branch of the skyline chain is handy to the expressway and far enough from the city that traffic is not a problem. This a great stop between Lexington and Cinci.

All Skyline restaurants have solid food and service, but the Dry Ridge location is my regular spot. I would usually say that I’ve been here too many times to count, but according to Foursquare, I’ve been here about 120 times, so there’s that! The servers are always friendly and fast. Sometimes on a Sunday lunch, there may be a rush and service might be slower that normal, but it’s still good. The food is always spot on too. I usually get two cheese coneys with everything and two chilitos with onions and a side of sour cream. Don’t forget the hot sauce and extra crackers! I’m also a fan of 4-ways, and the Southwestern chicken wrap and salad. The prices are great, and you get $ 5 off your 10th visit, so I’m always cashing those in! The location is nice too. There’s lots of parking, plenty of space inside, and lots of TV to catch the latest sports games. If only they sold beer like the one in Georgetown, KY did before they closed!

Staff was very nice… place was clean… food was just ok for us. I guess you really have to have a taste for Cincinnati type chili. I didn’t care for it… it was bitter. Hubby got the 4-way…pasta was kinda hard… I ordered a small hotdog and fries. Hotdog did have tons of cheese on it… but again, the bitter flavor of the chili ruined it. I would not return.
